I had a party in Amsterdam and to rack up some IHG accelerate points I booked a room. The hotel is in walking distance from Amsterdam South train station. So quick access to the city center or schiphol airport. Check-in went smooth. So far I have never encountered any difficulties during check-in at a IHG group hotel. I had the superior room on the 6th floor with a king bed. I got a delicious complementary chocolate bar. Which came in handy, because I was a bit hungry after some traveling. The room itself looked very nice and was really clean. It's definitely big enough for me. The bathroom with bad and shower was spotless and after a good night out I took a nice shower. I also like the amenities they give for a good night sleep. Haven't seen that at other hotels. But then again I stick most of the time to one or two different hotels brands. Once I was in bed I was gone in seconds. I had some good really good sleep. The breakfast was good. The staff was doing a good job to keep everything in order and clean. I did not have a diner or lunch in the restaurant, so can't tell anything about that. Most of the time I have dinner outside the hotel I'm staying at. I only had a quick beer at the bar. The bar looked nice I only didn't had more time to spend there. So to conclude, I had a really good stay. So far I have enjoyed all my stays at a IHG hotel. For business purpose this hotel is excellent. It's really close to the business district. And for tourist a good spot to avoid the hectic of the crowded city centre for a good night sleep. But still close enough to get everywhere in a few minutes by public transportation. Collapse

Hotel is located in the business district, and close to metro station so commute is very easy. Hotel design is good too, and people are friendly. I had a comfortable stay. My only complain is that I received no benefits (room upgrade or complimentary breakfast etc.) being a spire elite member. Also, if you are here for sightseeing, then its bit far from city center. Excellent hotel, pluses far outweigh the location

This was an overnight business trip so I didn't get a chance to sample everything but it ticks the boxes for convenient location, access by public transport, well appointed facilities, nice menu, large rooms, but most of all it has warm, friendly staff. This was true at reception, breakfast, dinner and bar and made us feel welcome even if it was a cold, wet, miserable, snowey night when we arrived. I've stayed at at least 3 IHG hotels in Amsterdam over the last few years as well as several others, but this is my first stay at this hotel, and given how public transport works so well in Amsterdam I'd easily go back because you can get anywhere from here. I stayed here with my husband and one year-old boy in January. We booked a superior room. The hotel is a 2-3 minute walk from Amsterdam Zuid station, so really well located. When we arrived we loved our room - lovely big bed with oversized headboard and a general really lovely setup. We also found the baby toiletries in our son's crib a nice touch! The bathroom was fab, with a really good sized bath. Toiletries were fully replenished every day (as were the tea, coffee, biscuits, little chocolates and complimentary bottled water) - there was also a note to say that if we had forgotten any of our essentials (toothbrush, toothpaste etc) they would be happy to provide them at reception We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming and very happy to help us with tips on getting around in Amsterdam. The hotel is modern, very clean and well kept - I would definitely stay here again Collapse

Visited here on a business trip. Everywhere surrounding this hotel looks so drab and industrial. I wouldn't have visited here out of personal choice! The room was very clean and the hotel itself was lovely. Nice atmosphere, good decor and good amenities. The staff on reception were very helpful and pleasant. The only aspect I wasn't impressed with was the breakfast next morning. I think you are expected to be a mind reader. The staff weren't helpful at all didn't tell us that you don't help yourself to tea and coffee and that someone brings it to you, even though there was a machine with stacked cups and saucers which to me, says help yourself, as everything else was self selection buffet. Again, the hot breakfast was at one side of the dining room and the cold selection tucked away where you wouldn't see unless shown. The grilling of your own toast is also a bit of a farce! A rotating grill, which is soooo slow it takes for ever to do one slice on once side only, put it through again and its burnt black. Overall nice hotel, however, like I said, out of choice I wouldn't visit this area anyway. Not what I expected. Collapse
