This is what I liked about the hotel: -nothing This is what I disliked: -the stupid parking lot procedures and the outrageous nightly fee -the inexistent greeting i was given by the reception staff (i have never seen such unpleasant employees)....they (and their managers) obviously know nothing about creating a pleasant customer experience (they don't even know how to smile)!!!!!! -the hotel is very dark inside and outside -the room does not have blackout curtains -the position of the toilet in your room means you must be less than 110kg to fit in that corner -the safe in the room is NOT anchored into anything...anyone could just grab the safe and walk away (see pictures) -very very few international tv stations -very noisy hallways and very noisy adjacent rooms -very noisy housekeeping staff...five of them (including their manager) were screaming in the hallway at 9am...i had to walk out and tell them to respect their guests -very lenghthy and inefficient check-in and check-out.....they have so many stupid procedures -buffet breakfast was just OK but the staff's attitude is marginal This is a self-proclaimed 5-star hotel....do not be fooled!!!! If this is a 5-star property then the Warsaw Marriott deserves 18 stars!!! My previous hotel stay (night before) was the Ibis Budget in Katowice and the customer experience was a thousand times better than at Crown Piast. Save yourselves the frustration and visit another hotel in Krakow. If you found this review helpful....please click below. Collapse

Look good from far,but actually is far from good.Very poor house keeping and counter service .When we checked in on 13th September 2016 for 2 nights stay. We had book a triple room, but they provided only two single beds plus a settee without any mattress, blanket or pillow. After demanding for another room, they claimed they were fully booked for the first night. On the second night, they provided an additional room but when we entered the room, some other guest had occupied the room.Another room was provided, and surprised surprised at mid night,a hotel staff was trying to enter the room,it looked liked the staff was trying to spend the night on the room ( it turned out that the staff was the night porter)So please never stay in this hotel for your own safety. We also found a cockroach was seen around the room. Crown Piast - located near commercial center, Auchan and Ikea, but a quiet hotel place. I have nice personal memories there. Every time I went there, it was a wedding. Receptionists are not friendly, sometimes even rude. At the end they wanted to charge me for a non used minibar, and they also required a deposit when everything was pre-paid! The breakfast is average/poor. Staying 2days one after another, it was quite the same. The service staff were quite impolite by starving at people while eating, seems they were there to count how much people are eating...just a sensation... You can use the fitness area, any other things are on payment. Beds are not as a 5 stars would have to provide. The first day I also found a spider in my room, I wonder even about the cleaning service... There is a small park area outside. I would give it 3 stars. Collapse
rating would suggest 3 star

Being a businessman, I stay in a lot of 4/5 star hotels and don't think this hotel is. Evening meals seem a shortage of staff in both restaurant and bar. Reception staff weren't very helpful on check. Beautiful grounds and ample parking for cars

Lets start with all the downsides of this hotel. First of all an incident that left us with a sour taste of the hotel was the arrival time. Upon arrival from the airport someone was speaking to the receptionist, with the other receptionist busy speaking on the phone. Me and my friend (aged 21) being the only other people in the whole lobby. Within 5 minutes people began to appear in the lobby to check-in to the hotel and on three occasions the receptionists would ask the newly arrived (and more mature looking) guests first leaving us (less important looking blokes) standing for ages until the whole lobby have been emptied. Despite the fact we arrived before the other guests we were served last. This felt a little bit dehumanizing, and began to put us off from the hotel. Service at the reception desk was same as always, with a vibe as if the lady behind the desk wanted to rush us (bearing in mind we had not sleep for 30 hours) which we found a little bit confusing. Upon arrival and in first hour in our room (room: 102) we have noticed a few problems. There was the broken shower head holder which made it a bit of a hassle when using the shower as the shower head kept falling out of the holder and onto the floor of the shower. Second problem in the bathroom was the leaking corner of the shower. Every time we left the shower, we found ourselves in a bathroom with a very large puddle on floor (despite the fact the shower door was firmly closed). Third problem was with the air conditioning. It is present but is too weak to feel it even working. Another couple downsides were the lighting of the hotel, the timer of the lights is set to about 60 seconds, which works alright at the hotel corridors although it feels really weird at start (elevator doors open and all you see is darkness as if we entered a basement) but when using the lobby toilet (toilet beside the reception) for some reason, people responsible for the hotel thought it would be a great idea installing 60 second timed lights inside the toilet cubical, which resulted in me having to wave my hands around like an imbecile meanwhile trying to do my 'business'. Such short timed lights in the toilet is the weirdest thing I have ever witnessed inside a hotel, this is not just an annoyance but also a safety hazard. The entire hotel has a free WiFi signal which is great, but the fact it goes down around every 15 minutes is a little annoying as it takes a while for it to go back on (this problem was not an individual device, both me and my companions devices such as phones, laptops and iPads were experiencing the same problem). And the fact that a price of 3 pints of beer is equal to a body massage. For a 5 start hotel the hotel rooms look a little bit outdated. On the other hand the hotel from outside looks great, it has a great house keeping staff, fantastic garden, breakfast has a wide range of food with fairly frequent stock-ups although the cafy machines take ages to make an average cup of coffee. @Update: On the 2nd night of our stay we told the reception about the broken shower head, 5 hours later a person walked in to the bathroom screwing the holder harder to the pipe, making it incredibly hard to adjust the vertical position of the shower, meanwhile the shower head holder remained snapped. That same night i went to the reception with the same complaint, this time showing a photo of what is actually broken hoping they'd have a wider understanding of the problem to receive a respond 'do you want it to be fixed urgently' although i did present them with the health and safety issues that this defect arrases. By day 7 this still have not been fixed by the hotel, so big thanks for bruised feet and heaps of jump scares. @5th night. Up to this day the hotel have been mildly busy with tops 6 tables taken for the breakfast in around 9 or 10am (its peak hours) but that day it got super busy, we walked in to no bread, eggs, sausages, milk. We had to wait 20 minutes for bread to be topped up. Even when milk was topped up there was no spoons to eat the cereal with, when my companion asked for a spoon they asked him to eat with a teaspoon which is both dehumanizing and pathetic, bearing in mind we are talking about a 5 star hotel. @Last day: We asked the receptionist to book a taxi for our own convenience, later double checking with her if she understood to book it it on that time, received the response yes. But she never called for one until she has finished checking us out. (I asked her 11PM at night to get a taxi for 3:15AM so no way on earth she has been too busy) The trip to Krakow was amazing, everyday spending about 10 hours in the city or on trips to different places but near the end of the day there was never a rush to get back to the hotel.
