Not all airport hotels are mediocre; in fact some are quite nice and offer good value. Unfortunately this Marriott is not one of those hotels. For about $175 I earned the privilege of paying for a shuttle to the airport (1/2 mile) for another $3 and then $25 for one of the worst breakfasts I've had in a European hotel (and which are often included). Breakfast included prepackaged everything and no table service, I should add. Nor does anyone tell you when you sit down that it costs (until someone comes to take your room number...) I arrived the day before hungry from a long trip, but wouldn't you know it the hotel restaurant is closed for three weeks. No one mentioned that, either, so I got to have the single worst pizza I've had in Europe from a take out place down the street. I was told this was the best option nearby... The staff is nice and the room was just ok, and so two stars. Collapse
Nothing terrible, nothing great unfortunately

I stayed at the hotel a few weeks ago as it was a convenient Marriott to where I was working for a couple of days. I arrived mid-morning and was able to check in immediately which was nice since I didn't have to be at work for a few hours. I am a platinum member and was given the "best room available" according to the agent working the check in desk. I also selected my welcome gift of red wine and a snack, which never arrived in the two nights I was staying. My fault for not following through, but also theirs for not bringing it to my room. My "best available" room was on the third floor, so I went to my room. It had a musty smell to it when I arrived. Maybe it was due to the proximity to the water, or maybe not, I don't know. Once I kicked the air con on and got some air circulating, the smell went away. Speaking of "best available room," my colleague who was also there got the same exact type of room I did, but his was on the opposite site of the hallway. Really not sure what made my room the "best available," but it didn't feel like it was an upgrade or best available. I had booked a "romance package" through work since they were paying and it was supposed to come with a bottle of prosecco and fruit. What I thought would be a nicely plated sliced fruit platter or something similar was a variety of whole fruits haphazardly thrown onto a plate. I thought there might be an ice bucket with a full bottle of prosecco also waiting. What I finally found was a half bottle of prosecco just shoved into the in-room fridge to keep it cold. So if you're expecting a bit of romance with the "romance package", I can't really say it was very romantic. I used the gym both days I was there. It consists of dumbbells 1-10kg, a chest press machine, a leg extension machine and some cardio equipment. I can't say it was a great gym, but I made do with what was there. The second day, both the water bottles were empty. I went up to the front desk personally and told them that they were empty before my workout started. After 30 minutes, no one had come to refill them. So I went back upstairs to let them know AGAIN that the water was empty and I had been down there 30 minutes and no one had come to refill them. Shortly thereafter, someone finally came down and refilled them. Breakfast was a decent spread for a Courtyard. Given that it was free, I can't really complain too much. There were some hot and cold items along with a variety of baked goods. The scrambled eggs were significantly undercooked for my taste. They were very watery and I had a hard time not getting any water on my plate when I dished it out. I ended up eating hard boiled eggs instead. Finally, the only bright point I can think of was the bar area of the hotel. I visited both nights to have some red wine before the restaurants opened. The bartenders in the bar were very nice and always kept my wine glass full. Would I stay here again? For work, yea probably since it was convenient and only a 5 minute drive to work. Would I stay here with my wife? no. There is a JW Marriott on an island just off Venice that I would have stayed at personally, but it wouldn't have been as easy to get to work in the morning. Overall, I give it an ehhhhh. Like I said in the title, nothing terrible, but nothing great. Collapse

We stay at this hotel for one night. Clean, good bed and fantastic food at the restaurant! Very good service and shuttle to the airport only five minutes away. The bus to Venice stop outside the hotel.

Close enough to Venice airport that we could easily walk to the hotel from the arrivals terminal. Maybe 15 minutes walk, not signposted but easy enough to follow a map on your phone. Pavement most of the way, Room size was good. Didn't have breakfast but there were a few shops nearby where snacks could be bought. My only concern is the price and as it's the only global brand hotel near the airport the hotel price isn't great value. Collapse
