My boyfriend and I recently visited Toronto and chose the hotel due to its location. What I didn’t like, was the receptionist at check in, water in hotel room during a shower would change temp on it’s own, and the cost of valet parking. The receptionist at the check in desk, I believe her name was Irina, or Rina was rude and unprofessional. She did not greet us with a smile. When I asked her if complimentary breakfast was included, she responded with a short “No” and did not even make eye contact. I then asked her where the restaurant was located in the hotel, her response “it’s over there”. During the conversation she did not make eye contact or point to where restaurant was located or offered to help. Very rude! But we decided not to let her rudeness ruin our stay. Parking was $35/day , valet parking attendants were pleasant. We stayed on the 9th floor, room was clean and everything you needed was there. The other receptionist we came in contact with during our stay and check out were pleasant. Just not ,Irina(Rina) for Check in. During a shower , water temperature changed, I guess from other guest using water at the same time. But it wasn’t to much of a bother. One more thing to note about that receptionist at check in. During our stay, when ever we saw her at the desk, she gave us a cold stare and wouldn’t even acknowledge us. I’m not sure what was up with her, but it was very unpleasant . Bartenders and the other employees that worked in the Bistro, were very pleasant. I’m sorry that I didn’t get his name, older man with glasses, at The Bistro, he was very nice and pleasant during our stay. Food was tasty. I would stay at the hotel again due to its location, but that receptionist needs a class on professionalism. When we checked out I asked for a comment card , I was told to provide my email and one would be sent that I can do electronically, and I am still waiting. Collapse

This location was a little run down a few years back, I live in Toronto so no excuse to be in here and they smartly don't have an entrance from Yonge St so foot traffic is minimized. Had a full day training course here and was just blown away by the reno, several other frequent travellers who stayed overnight noted this too. Look at my pictures of the lobby, great coffee area for meeting peers. Free water and hot chocolate next to check in - I went online and couldn't believe the price point for a now upgraded hotel in a prime location were crazy affordable. Safe area right on top of the subway with a ton of both chain fast food, good restaurants, a pharmacy and massive upscale grocery store ON the block not close by, right outside. Highly recommend for business meetings and training. I'll be recommending it to family travelling to the city who want to be downtown and in the action. Collapse

Have stayed at this property a few times and it never disappoints. Hotel is clean, staff is friendly & accommodating, fantastic location, rooms are very comfortable, etc. Exactly what you would expect from Marriott Corporation. This is a mid-range hotel so don’t expect luxury, but the average+ traveller should be happy here. It’s great value for money. Collapse

I spent six nights at the Courtyard in mid-December; this was my third stay here. The staff and service had been great on my two previous visits but this year they went above and beyond. I was in Toronto to spend my birthday and an early Christmas with my brother, which I had mentioned at check-in. What a lovely surprise to return to the hotel after an all-day visit with my brother to have chilled champagne and a note delivered to my room wishing me a Happy Birthday!! My first room was a one-bedroom suite with the bathroom inside the bedroom, which was fine for just me. Another brother came from Ottawa for a few nights so having the bathroom inside the bedroom would have been inconvenient for both of us. I explained the situation to the front desk and asked if I could get a suite with the bathroom outside the bedroom for my last couple of nights - after a few minutes of checking, the desk clerk confirmed that I could move to the requested suite. On the day I needed to change suites, the front desk called up and offered to send someone to help move my things to the new room ... perfect!! Yes the two hotel tower buildings are older so there may be a few minor quirks ... the elevators can be a bit slow and the heaters in the rooms can be a little quirky but the service and the rooms easily make up for it. I love that the windows can open slightly for fresh air and I always bring a small white noise machine with me when I travel although I've never had any noise issues here. The place got a major renovation over the last year or so with a beautiful new decor and modern comfortable furnishings. On all three of my visits, the suite was very clean and comfortable. The location is great, close to many places to shop and dine and very convenient for me. My husband and I have stayed at many, many hotels and great service is VERY important to me; I really appreciate it and am always happy to give credit where credit is due. A huge thank you to Front Office Manager, Henry, and all of the staff for their fabulous service! I hope to be back in Toronto later this year for another visit and will definitely be staying at the Courtyard! :) Collapse

I stayed for a month last Sep 16 to Oct 15. And my experience were better than my stay in Chelsea. In term of Bed, I like it better and so much cleaner than in Chelsea. The bathroom is newly renovated and the Sofa next to my bed were big enough that you can make it your next bed. What I don't like is the lack of amenities. The pool is so small you won't even try using it. And the Laundry were broken the whole time. It is Jurassic and for guys who stays for a long time, don't bother using it. The location is good since Metro and Shopper Drug Mart which is open 24/7. Also College station is just around the corner. And if you wanted to go to Queens Part, it's just few blocks away. Collapse
