Not worth the money - about equal to a Holiday Inn in the United States, except with filthy carpets in the room

I would not stay in this hotel again -- in fact, if my team wasn't also staying here I would have changed hotels. The internet service is horrible! Very unreliable and slow -- when it is working. The location is convenient, but the cleanliness of my room was poor. The carpet had many, many stains. The bed sheet had a big black stain and the pillows had grey drip marks. Two days in a row I had to ask for conditioner at the front desk. You would think the 3rd day I would receive conditioner ... no. Instead, I took conditioner from my male teammates who wouldn't be using theirs. My hairdryer also wouldn't work -- it would turn off after a minute. Hotel services don't open until 8 am, so if you are on a business trip and need to leave before then you will be faced with challenges to resolve an issue. The breakfast buffet is decent, but I did feel queasy after breakfast two days in a row. I felt fine once I avoided the scrambled eggs. The have a "snack vending area" downstairs by the lobby that does not offer much. Upon check-in you will receive one bottle of water in your room for free, but you will receive no additional water on following days. The bed was uncomfortable and the couch in my room has stains on the cushion. Collapse

Great location, and rooms big enough to swing 10 cats around in

So my colleagues recommended this hotel while I spent a week in Madrid, and I'm pretty thankful they did. It's located next to a large Metro/Bus hub, and it's fairly central to the city (you can walk to the center in 10 minutes). There are a huge number of great little Tapas bar's and amenities nearby, but I'm not going to talk about that. Lets talk about the room... Upon entering my room (it was off season, so they upgraded me) I thought I'd accidentally walked into another dimension. After inspecting the door again and noting that it was not The Doctor's TARDIS, I entered. It took me a while to explore the room, because there was so much of it. Placed quite centrally was a bed, or at least I think it was a bed, because this was quite a lot bigger than any bed I'd seen before. You could easily sleep a family in it (or 3 close friends if your in to that kind of thing). Incredibly comfortable, but quiet easy to get lost in, I attempted to see just how big the room really was. After failing to procure a cat to swing around, I decided to see if I could propel myself across the room on the wheelie chair from wall to wall. I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried, I never made it to the other side. Ok, so enough of all that. The room was very nice, clean and quiet, if a little old (as it is an older building). The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and didn't mind when I requested a room away from the elevators. I'm only marking this place down as some people may have a problem with the noise of the traffic (although that dies down in the night). Highly recommended. Collapse

Very accomodating staff, courteous and so helpful, we arrived on an international flight earlier than the check-in time and they accomodated us by checking us in early since they had a room available. If they have no rooms available they will hold your luggage so you can go out and see the sites if you choose, there is a restaurant in the hotel if you chose to get something to eat and hang out. Great location, easy access to enter and exit, I think it is catacorner on the block on which it sits. Starbucks is in the same block as the hotel mere feet away and so easily accessible for either entrance of the hotel that it felt like part of the hotel but it is not. The hotel is also close to alot of restaurants and shops. We walked from the hotel to the Debod Temple, Gran Via and Plaza Espana Square. The room was clean and well appointed. We were on one of the lower floors at the front of the hotel but we did not have an issue with noise as mentioned in other reviews. Great plus for the room is that the bathroom is very large, but since the space was so large a bench would have been nice to lay towels and clothes on closer to the sink and shower, just because everything was so spaced out. But this is definitely a travelers hotel. Collapse
