I was in many hotel in peter, but I certainly do appreciate my stay in Corinthia, right on Nevsky Prospect, hotel with a very friendly staff, room are modern and very comfortable, I recommend for few more rubbles to take room in the executive aisle where you will have access to the executive lounge where you can have breakfast lunch diner snack drink ... all included! The price of the hotel is far more reasonable than other usual who become crazy during white nights . Collapse

Corinthia is located at Nevsky Prospekt which means it is in the happening place as far as St Petersburg is concerned. It has good access to the roads and has a back entry as well where usually the taxis wait. The lobby is quite large...in fact long...since it is rectangular. The check in and checkout is quite smooth. There is a coffee shop opposite the reception...and if that is not manned (which is usually the case), there is a restaurant or cafe at the ground floor which serves coffee as also drinks or liquor. There are couple of girls who keep sitting in the lobby and ogle at you...but one look at them and you know you r entering forbidden territory. Food at breakfast and munch are quite good...breakfast buffet is the standard spread as in any five star. The rooms are reasonably spacious...nothing out of the world but good. Considering St Petersburg...a good hotel but on the expensive side. Collapse
Great location but very, very expensive (overpriced)

I reluctanctly booked this hotel as I had a fixed appointment in St.Petersburg -- reluctantly, because the price level was truly over the top. But also the more moderately priced hotels had raised their prices to accommodate the high season for tourism and football Confederation Cup games. The building itself is very impressive and lobby area resonates high quality. That is why also my expectations were inflated. I was unlucky enough to have my room as half of an interconnecting suite: although the interconnecting door was locked I could still hear everything my "noisy neighbours" on the other side did and said. It was very annoying as I had specifically asked for a quiet room: if I had stayed in the hotel any longer I would have asked them to arrange another room. Bathroom was not up to par of a 5-star hotel: installations were flimsy, shower wall leaked water on the floor, and the towels were small, thin and old. Biggest disappointment was the breakfast service. The staff left you on your own devices to find (and defend!) a free table. Servants were giggly and not very helpful at all. Many basic breakfast items were chronically scarce, of bad quality or non-existing. Not good at all for the price level. Overall, would I stay again: not on standard prices. Location is great but for the prices they charge I would expect a much better experience. Collapse
A huge disappointment.

I stayed once with Corinthia in Turkey for leisure and was looking forward to experiencing the same standard in St. Petersburg on my recent business trip however my expectations were not met. We arrived late in the evening, the check-in took a while. We had two individual reservations but the reception mixed up and booked us in one room then it took a while to reverse the procedure. No welcome drinks were offered, we had to ask for them as we were getting bored standing/waiting and they were served with a remark that we were lucky as the Bar was meant to be closed at that time (isn't it a standard procedure to offer refreshments to the guests despite late hours in case of a delay caused by the hotel?!). The room was spacious, well equipped, with a strange smell though especially in the bathroom. Was too tired to go back and ask for a new one so just opened the window and slept. The breakfast area was always extremely busy, with poor choices, not very tidy, appealing or yummy. They do serve fresh juices and eggs of your choice upon request but they usually arrive when you are about to leave. Tasteless, dry, not well presented with black residue left by frying pans. Prior to my arrival to Corinthia St. Petersburg I stayed with Intercontinental Tverskaya in Moscow, it was 50% cheaper but the breakfast was exceptional. Such a drastic contrast. Many traditional Russian options like bliny or syrniki were not available or available at an extra charge. Didn't risk ordering to avoid disappointment. The coffee was always lukewarm with no flavor (posted double shot latte, check out the color). They serve limitless champagne at breakfast though and I think now I know why. Eventually we ended up eating outside even though our breakfast was included. I always leave tips but it didn't help to keep my room tidy. Had those used coffee cups/plates posted on the table 2 days in a row. Nobody bothered to replenish tea/coffee or put water near the bed. The preparation of the room for the bed time was to dim the lights and to spread the cotton cloth near the bed. Clean your dishes and buy your water. I called and made a point. The water appeared but no tea or coffee (I was told the service got closed for the day but offered a coffee delivery). At the time of my stay the hotel hosted the teams of Confederation Cup and I guess judging by the absence of attention to 'simple' paying guests all the forces were thrown to keep the football players happy. Security guards were everywhere which is probably a good thing but irritating at the same time - imagine your bag checked each time you enter, yourself scrutinized and asked for a proof that you really do stay at the hotel. Majority of the room keys all over the world look the same, how did they figure out to verify my identity via that exercise remains a mystery. The entrance was always crowded with fans waiting to get a glimpse of some football player. I think Corinthia should have informed potential guest about this coming, I would have chosen something quiet instead. Oh yes, St. Petersburg is very rainy and the hotel doesn't offer umbrellas ... The overall experience was nowhere close to a five star. I personally won't be back but hope this review will help others with the choices as well as alert the management and urge them to elevate their standards. Regards. Collapse
