Upon arrival we learned that the parking is 20 euros per day (15 on a Sunday) which is quite high in my opinion. Pluses, junior suite room looks really nice with a lot of windows and is really spacy! Bed is terrific! Minuses: the heating doesn’t work properly so I woke up some times during the night as my arm was cold. Also with all those windows, there is always some daylight sneaking in, which is annoying for bad sleepers. Then, the junior suite allows you access to the spa, but there are no slippers or bath robes in the room (you get a bath robe at the spa for free but not slippers). The spa itself is nice: you can enjoy the regular sauna, ice cold and hot showers and infrared sauna without problems. The pool and hammam were too crowded one day to really enjoy. Minuses: the dressing rooms are really small and have no seats or benches + there is only tap water, no tea. Second day all the lockers were finished so I had to leave my clothes in a plastic bag behind the counter. Dinner at the Cor en Don twice (for food and interior) was great: I can recommend the burger & fries and the pasta arrabiata. Portion of burger & fries is better than the pasta though. Also both white and red wine are good. Minuses: staff tries, but misses some finesse: second evening the actual dining room was reserved for an event of which I still don’t know at this very moment what it was as no information was given to hotel guests. This was not mentioned until people arrived there, so we had to eat in the lobby. This is not professional and should be made clear one or more days in advance. Also staff forgot some things in our small orders while there weren’t so many customers. Breakfast was good, bacon & eggs, fresh fruit and fresh orange juice were my favourites. Also, I have to say, and this is probably personal, that the lady welcoming me when arriving at the hotel, was not so warm and felt a bit fake. In general, I would not especially recommend this hotel concerning the prices paid, but I wouldn’t tell people either to not go there as my overall experience was ok. Collapse

This is a great hotel with good, helpful staff, plentiful breakfast and a decent bar. The downsides are that it’s a bit of a trek to get into central Amsterdam (25 min tram ride) and the room was a bit cold. We got very wet on a snowy day in December and struggled to get our coats/boots dry in the rather chilly room. However, the rooms were equipped with all we needed, toiletries, full length mirror, trouser press, kettle etc. We would return to this hotel again in the future. Collapse
Shame about the heating!

To say Vitality Hotel is in the city is a bit of a stretch. It's actually a 25 minute tram ride from Amsterdam central. The hotel is as is advertised. The staff, are extremely pleasant and helpful, giving tips for travelling most economically and safely. They don't try to push anything on you. The restaurant was quite large but, it seemed, the menu wasn't. Our bedroom was unusually large for a European hotel. The bed was almost seven feet wide and probably the most comfortable I have ever slept on in my life, with pillows to match. The only negatives I can draw on are that the room was either far too hot or far too cold, and the bath was what I would consider, bordering on dangerous with a water supply that barely reached warm. The side was about six inches higher than a regular house bath, which meant you had to stretch to get over. This is ok if you're young and agile, but if you're not, you could be in trouble. Even though there is a meaningful handrail at the end of the bath, I still nearly fell, on the way out, as my one foot slipped in the bath while my other one overstretched to try and find the bathroom floor. The hotel is in a commercial/industrial area, with, at present, active construction work opposite the front entrance. Collapse

I booked through booking.com and got a great deal. Spa was amazing and a key aspect of the stay here. Amazing Hamam. Definitely give this a whirl. Food also great in Con and Don's. On the downside? Wi-Fi could have been better, faster, but that's subjective. Small things let it down. Paper cups in the rooms and lack of shower or wash products. You get one product and that's it for everything, hands, face, hair shampoo and conditioner for example. I thought customer service was great and all round I enjoyed and would come again. Collapse
