We stayed in the Conrad Dubai for 7 nights recently for our special occasion which was mentioned in the booking, but our stay was so disappointing, and we had too many issues during our stay. Firstly, when we arrived, we did not feel that we were welcomed as a Hilton Honors Gold Member. We love to travel all around the world and stayed in so many Hilton hotels, but it was the first time we did not get the room upgrade nor executive lounge access. When I asked John, who checked us in if I got the room upgrade, he said “no, because hotel is full.”, I asked again if I got the executive lounge access, he said “no, executive lounge access is for only Diamond members.” I understand all the hotels have different rules and policies and also room upgrade depends on the availability, but if he was willing to go to the extra miles to make our special holiday even more special, he could do it and I don’t think it would be any problem, but he did not look like he wants to be bothered to do it for a gold member who is staying for 7 nights for the special occasion. He said he will send up a cake to our room to celebrate our special occasion, but it never arrived for 8 days!!! In addition, he gave us the wrong information on arrival and we were the ones having headache during our holiday. He gave us the wrong information about discount in the restaurants and bars in the hotel and when we went to the pool bar, we did not get the correct bill. I spoke to the bar staff and he said he will call Front Office Manager to deal with this issue, but at the end, we had to go downstairs to speak with him. Mr.Deshev Walia came out to sort it out but actually he made the situation even worse. He raised his voice to argue with us when we already had a complaint and even said “you need to speak politely!!!!!!” to us. How can he warn the guests who already got the issue to be polite and he was the one being so rude and aggressive??? He did not even listen to us, he just said what he wants to say and left first !!!!! excuse me????? I did not want to sign on the bill from the pool bar as the bill was incorrect and I did not agree to pay for the incorrect bill, but Deshev was threatening and pushing us to sign on the incorrect bill, and said we cannot move from the lobby until we sign on the incorrect bill !!!!!He mentioned to us, he can call Police as this is Dubai and he allowed himself to speak with a colleague of him in Urdu in front of us. I know Dubai isn’t like London, but to speak his native language in front of us would be called discrimination! So, we couldn’t even go to the hotel entrance to say goodbye to our friend!!!!! We had all the confirmations from 3 staff in the hotel and even had emails from reservation team regarding to the discount in F&B, we asked for his email address, so we can forward the confirmation email from reservation team to Deshev so he can find out what happened and sort this issue out, but he gave us wrong email address, and of course email never reached him. I don’t understand how come he could get confused with his email address when it is SIMPLELY his first name.last firstname.lastname@example.org which would be email@example.com (now not sure even if he gave us correct last name, but Walia is his last name which he gave us !!!!), Deshev said he will check with reservation team and will send us a message and of course we never heard from him until next day, so we had to go to the reception to check if he followed up this issue, but nobody at the reception looked like they are even aware about this issue. So, we had to explain front office staff what happened from the beginning again and the answer was “it was the genuine mistake and as the bill is already posted, we cannot correct it.”!!! They admitted the mistake from their side but still did not want to make it wright for the guest because if they correct the bill, one of them have to pay for the difference, so they decided to charge it to the guest!!!!! It is pity that I spoke with a night manager Deshev and an assistant front office manager Ihad Mounir , but they did not look like they are empowered to make small issue right, so I had to go to the reception several times to hear “we will need to check with our management team” !!!!! (you two are managers so….. ????) This is the very interesting beginning of our holiday and after that we kept having issues in the hotel, housekeeping never replace the amenities in the bathroom properly, they always forgot some of them, one day they left dirty towels in the room when they came to make the room, Spa staff tried to adjust the time for the massage as we were a bit late for the appointment ( even though we had called them in advance from outside to let them know), we informed a receptionist about sewage smell in the bathroom but it never been followed up, so we had to go to the reception again to inform about the same issue. What a stunning hotel,great location, right next to the metro station. The variety at breakfast was great, aswell as very friendly staff who went above and beyond. Would definitely be returning for our anniversary in 2018.

This was my second stay in this hotel. First stay experience was very bad and do not want to come again in this hotel, But my company booked it, But I forgot my previous stay experience when I arrived in the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the welcome and attentiveness of the staff its far better than my previous stay. On Arrival day I met ashwin I told him this is my second stay and my first stay experience was very bad and disappointed. He checked and he found my previous reservation. He gave me free upgrade to the corner room, The room was amazing and excellent , I stayed three days in Conrad Dubai the staff and service was excellent, I want to Thank to the gentlemen for me giving the free the upgrade and the fruit basket once again thank you for your excellent service and your friendly nature you changed our mind will sure come back soon. Stayed here back in February 2016. I stayed with my family, my mum, dad and two siblings. We had to get two double rooms. Was very reasonable pricing for what we got and upon arrival to the room which btw definitely has the wow factor. Great size bedroom with luxury bathroom, double vanity and all marble. The next morning i was awaken by electric curtains revealing Dubai's beautiful sunset with a beautiful view. Most days we spent outside the hotel doing activities but the breakfast in the hotel was great and also the pool facilities were great. You relaxed under the trees and forgot that you was in downtown Dubai. I would definitely recommend to any one and we will be returning hopefully soon. Also service was great including Marlon, who was absolutely incredible, he offered exceptional service throughout our stay. Collapse
