Pros: Free parking in front of hotel. Has daycare and fitness club services (including hot yoga classes) for special members. Staff were helpful and very polite. 25 minute walk into Galway City Centre. Frequent spot for taxi pickup. Room was clean, with windows that opened fully. Accommodated booking mix-up. Cons: Rooms are spartan, more like dormitory-style (reminded us of our university residences). Bathroom was small, with bath products and soap strapped to wall. Room overlooked parking lot at back of hotel - security officers talked for most of the night, necessitating a request they be quiet. Hotel staff indicated they had contacted taxi service for us, but they couldn't advise where the taxi was or how to identify it. Had called twice for confirmation of change to booking, which was never emailed but verbally confirmed, only to have the wrong rate charged initially at check-in (this was remedied when we identified the error). Went here for one night on a hen party lived it lovely hotel especially for families. Had kids clubs throughout the day and evening a leisure centre and swimming pool. The room we stayed in was a self catering room with everything anyone would need self catering g it was lovely. The breakfast was a joy that catered for all ages and diets even a coeliac section. I will be looking at this hotel for a family holiday really looks after families. Collapse
Busy with kids, not a premium experience

Stay here if you get a good price on room or have a large family. The leisure centre is excellent, as are breakfasts, but the hotel has seen better days. Avoid the restaurant for meals apart from breakfast. When we stayed at this hotel for two nights, we encountered hordes of families with kids milling about and shrieking. The facilities were rough around the edges, like they'd taken a battering. It's absolutely not a premium experience. Breakfasts are excellent, but otherwise do not eat in the restaurant. I had dinner there one night and everything about it was bad. Burger was burned, service was poor, and every five seconds someone was dropping cutlery. It's more of a cafeteria vibe than a proper restaurant. That said, the atmosphere in the adjacent bar is nice after hours -- they have musicians come in and the kids have been put to bed. Our room was in the A ring and faced onto the garbage and laundry area, as did many other rooms in the place. Problem is, you have to keep your window open to get some air (no air conditioning), which exposes you to noise from employees dumping bottles and trash late late into the night (i.e. 1 a.m.). Also, our room had a bizarre creaking board right by the bathroom that must have subjected the people below to intolerable noise. Finally, the toilet didn't even flush properly -- vast amounts of water flushes but any paper you leave in it stays floating at top. Fantastic leisure centre / gym if you are craving a workout. And parking is abundant, either in the front lot or around the back in the parking garage. Collapse

Stayed here on a Saturday in July and to be fair the hotel was not bad. However after arriving back from the city after dinner, we were met by several security guards which surprised us. We gave our names and room numbers and were allowed entry. We had a drink in the bar as music was playing and headed to our room. This is where it went all down hill. The rooms were of a good standard and had everything you would expect from a 4☆ hotel. Except we did not expect the groups of yobs slamming doors and making noise all night long. We contacted reception and they sent security to our floor but the banging of doors and shouting continued until 5.45am. It was not just our floor either, 3 couples stayed in different parts of the hotel and all 3 had problems with noisy guests. We went for breakfast and as we waited in line we could see many of the staff rushing about and not able to cope with the volume of guests. The toaster was self service and this delayed everybody. There were no trays available, and when some did arrive there still were not enough to go around. No glasses for the different juices available and again when some did arrive, still not enough to go around It was litterally a free for all. We will not be staying again Collapse

Stayed here in June with a group of friends. We had trouble with check in after being given keys to three different rooms that were occupied. In fairness the receptionist was lovely and did her best to fix it for us. We had a meal in the Restaurant, the food was lovely. The restaurant supervisor ( a lady) I can not for the life of me remember her name, she was outstanding from start to finish. A lot of stags and hens stay here. I would not recommend this for a family. Collapse
