The Coldra Court Hotel was recently a Hilton Hotel, now part of the Celtic Manor Hotel. The facilities were very good. The rooms and bathrooms were comfortable and adequate but perhaps need some updating over time. The Seasons Restaurant was very good with a varied choice on the menu. All the staff in the hotel were very helpful and friendly. There was a courtesy minibus up to the Celtic Manor Hotel. We would definitely recommend the Coldra Court Hotel as it was very good value for a weekend break. Collapse

Stayed one Sunday night with a buffet dinner and breakfast included. Paid £35 to upgrade the room to a superior and on arrival was offered the chance to upgrade again to a Signature room for a further £30. We took the offer and so began our adventure on the exclusive sixth floor. Not a bad offer in all fairness with a good sized room and a balcony (but with no seating). A bottle of wine and a box of six chocolates also included. Staff on reception and at dinner and breakfast were excellent. Very friendly. Food was as expected - excellent quality and very moreish! Overall a stay that I can't overly criticise but I did have a few grumbles. The room was too hot and we couldn't control the temperature. Most hotels of this standard (and even some at 3 star) provide free bottles of water. If you wanted bottle water here it was in the fridge in the room but came at a cost of over £2. I would have preferred water over chocolates! Second and again comparing this hotel with other four/five star hotels with 'executive' lounges. I like paying a bit extra for the lounges because it usually means you can have a couple of hours in an exclusive area with canapes and alcohol provided. It makes for a very comfortable and relaxing two or so hours before going for dinner. Beware the Celtic Manor Signature lounge. You have to be there between 5 and 6 pm, to enjoy ONE glass of Prosecco. You can have as much tea and coffee as you like but should you want a soft or alcoholic drink you have to pay - and at five star prices! Overall I think the lounge is a bit of a con compared as I said to exec lounges in most major hotel chains. Then there was breakfast - a very wide range to choose from but the one particular cereal I eat (made of wheat) was not on offer in the Signature lounge although I could have had it in the main dining area downstairs! Now for the bathroom. Well equipped, good toiletries, nice shower, robes and slippers but no face cloths! Finally, and although the bed was OK (but not as good as Hypnos beds) the pillows were a trial. All four were hard which meant two were to high to sleep on and one too low. Again hotels at that level offer a pillow menu but not the Celtic Manor. For goodness sake even Premierinn give you the choice between hard and soft pillows! So I have to say that whilst the Celtic Manor does have its nice features I don't think I'll hurry to go back there. Value for money it is not. Collapse

We played here two years ago to the day as a two ball...I brought six friends this time to enjoy the delights of the courses...as we did then we played all three courses. To get to the point the greens were terrible they had been hollow tined with big holes & plenty of sand not a straight putt to be had by anyone the ball ran to the hole like a snake....I here you say yes but they need to do maintained...I agree but not all three courses at the same time....I could have put up with one or two of the courses like this but not all three...why not spread the pain a little & do some work in August or September...sorry but i will not be returning at this time of year...we will be booking a flight to Spain or Portugal in the future...we stopped in the Coldra court where they tried to fog us off with decrypted rooms when we had booked re furnished & also tried to charge us £5 a night for our cars. the saving grace was the food was good and the company fantastic. We were invited back here after our first stay was shoddy to say the least. You'd think that the 2nd time they would have ironed out the creases of the first stay, however much to our dismay - It was Worse! Really grubby room / mold on the balcony doors Room service - ordered food to the room, took 45 mins & sent the WRONG meals (& STILL tried to charge us for them) No robes in the room - should have been there as standard. No Baby Travel Cot as requested upon booking The only thing good about this place is the morning breakfast Other than that, they really need to buck up their ideas & if they wish to retain a '5Star appearance) & to salt the wound more, the customer service manager i originally dealt with upon the 1st visit has now decided to ignore ALL emails since. Not worth the money - Not worth your time. Collapse

Booked a overnight stop with dinner and bed and breakfast, for a treat - work 7 days so we were looking forward to some 'us' time! easy to find and park, we checked in and we were offered an upgrade to the Signature Rooms at a discount, which we took advantage of, and we had a lovely room located on the 6th floor we were right by the lounge, which offered a good selection of drinks and food, and also complimentary coffee/tea. Room was clean and tidy and after our evening meal, our towels had been changed and room was ready for us! Collapse

Stayed here many times for business and have experienced a number of different rooms. Firstly, the hotel is old and is seeing some renovations currently (not that you will notice work men). The older rooms are very pleasant and the juxtaposition of a new lcd flat screen tv inside an old television bureau is quite amusing however even with its age there is still an element of aged luxury to it. The newer refurbished rooms are indeed very nicely done and bring an element of modern luxury to a resort with a history. The foyer is very grand and breakfast is good. Service throughout the resort is excellent as always and the facilities are excellent. There is a choice of restaurants to dine in and free parking is available a bit further away. The only niggle I have is that the check in is slow. Not through the proactiveness of the desk staff but you get a sense that they are maybe battling some legacy systems as they take you through the check in. Despite having my credit card on file it can take up to 10 mins when I am at the desk. Collapse
