This is my third year taking my son here and he loves it. The staff I encountered although only a few, were very friendly. The rooms are clean and reliable. The only downside is check in is not until 4. Would be nice to have a earlier check in. The beds are pretty hard and I like soft, but that's a personal preference. They open the waterpark at 11am. I think it would be great if they would open a hour earlier just for the guests who stay at the hotel before the outside crowd gets there. It's in walking distance of everything so very convenient. I booked a room for one night to take my son and a couple of friends for his 10th birthday. We arrived about noon on the day of check in. The room wasn't ready yet but we were given our wristbands so we could enjoy the water park. I was told I would be given a call when the room was ready. I was called at 3:36 and normal check in is 4pm. When I went to get the room keys, I had to wait in line so we really ended up getting the room at 4pm. No complaints there. The water park was great. There are lifeguards walking around and redirecting kids as needed. You really want to get there by noon to get a good table with an umbrella. We were here on a Monday so it wasn't too crowded. My son slipped and fell in the arcade. The staff was very responsive and came to make sure he was ok. They gave him an ice pack and said to let them know if anything changed with how he felt. They took all of our information but we never heard from anyone after that. We had family connecting rooms in building 9. Specifically rooms 9107 and 9108. The rooms are disgusting in my opinion. I felt like I was staying in a red roof inn. The AC units are plug in units. They are noisy and have to stay on the entire time. They are right next to the bed. The bed didn't even have a fitted sheet. I'm not sure if this is how they do all of the beds or if they just ran out of fitted sheets. Flat sheets don't stay put on beds, so the mattress was exposed. The other room had a roach. I know it's Florida and there are roaches but where there is one, there is many. The bathrooms are tiny and you can't even raise your arms without hitting the ceiling! The tubs/sinks didn't drain in either room. There was water leaking from the ceiling/light in the bathroom over the toilet. There's no telling where it was coming from. It wasn't just occasionally dripping. We woke up to a puddle in front of the toilet and water all over the toilet seat. When I went to check out I informed Kieran that I wasn't satisfied with the room. She didn't ask why so I went in to inform her that one of the rooms was leaking from the ceiling (out of all my concerns, this one was the most important). She asked if I let anyone know. I told her that I just found out this morning and hadn't let anyone know until now. She said, "Here you go (handed me my receipt), have a nice day!" My total with taxes and fees included was $245. This also included one extra wristband to the water park. I would NEVER again stay at cocokey. I wouldn't mind visiting the water park area again but I wouldn't stay in one of their rooms again. I felt disgusting when leaving there. Collapse

First and foremost the staff is wonderful especially Karen, i understand that she can't control what im sure many people complain about. Now where to start. Me and my wife decided to save some money and chose Coco over a few pricier Disney resorts. The pictures absolutely fooled us, and we did not realize this was a motel until we pulled into the parking lot. Upon walking into room 1204 i was absolutely disgusted. Cobwebs in the ceiling, furniture looked like it was chewed on by a k9, carpet smelled like meldew, telephone and remote looked liked it hadn't been cleaned with Lysol in years, oh did i mention the dresser drawers opened by themselves. Honestly Coco just call Stanley Steamer and get the carpets cleaned my sons white socks turned black after walking across this carpet and he didnt understand why we stressed to walk around the room in your sandles. If you would like to feel grossed out take a black light to the carpet im sure you will find dozens of strands bacteria. I didnt get upset with the staff more with myself for taking the cheap route and booking this dump and i couldnt get a refund because i needed to cancel a week before checkin. Realizing it was my sons birthday weekend and just recently married i was not willing to blow 600 dollars and spend another 600 booking a different hotel. I spoke with Karen and she moved me and my family to a new room which was alittle better no cobwebs in the ceiling and the furniture was not chewed up. However, the mildew smell remained and the carpet was visibly dirty. After a trip to Wal-Mart for some cleaning supplies my wife did the best she could to disinfect what she could. I mentioned earlier that the staff was very nice the security guard sorry i cant remember her name did her best to get my car jumped from me leaving the lights on. She did her best to find me jumper cables and even let me borrow her jumpkit. Two more things and im done. The front desk booked another family to our room our first night. Thank god we stayed 5 minutes later or complete strangers would have been in our room and i didnt lock our jewelry properly in the safe. Lastly I mentioned that the carpet wad very dirty and our pillows would sometimes fall on the floor. We would remove the pillow case to get a new one in the morning. I have a very good feeling the the pillow case was not properly replaced of the 30 plus years i have been living i have never had pink eye. I am visiting the doctor tomorrow for antibiotics. The place is affordable yes the swim park is nice but an extra 200 bucks can save you from headaches and a bunch of grief. Collapse

My family of 5 came to Orlando for a week long softball tournament for one of my three children. Most families opted to get a house. We wanted to make sure our children not playing in the tournament had entertainment in our free time. We chose Coco Key and had a blast. The staff went out of their way to make us more than comfortable for our week stay. We met Andy Holt who personally went over and beyond to accommodate my family and her softball team. He treated us as he personally had known us forever. We will definitely come back and recommend this hotel to others. Collapse

Came to Florida for a family holiday to see the disney parks. 2 adults and 2 children (6 + 15). We wanted a good base for the parks and not that bothered about the usual hotel luxuries, as we planned to be at the parks all day and just use the room to sleep in. The Coco key provided that. The room was basic and decor was outdated in our room. It served its purpose though. It had a mini fridge, microwave (which we never used) lots of drawers, wardrobe etc. Ensuite was ok. Clean but nothing great. Our room was cleaned everyday and towels changed. Our room was around the back of the water park so quiet. I expected it to be bigger but it had a bouble beds in and we were so tired after a full 10 hour day in the parks; really not bothered. Beds where comfy the only thing was so wierd 3/4 pillows that weren't great! We didnt have to pay extra for the waterpark, as included in the holiday price. We used it once all day when we needed a rest. We were quiet impressed with the amount of lifeguards present and they didn't stop. Our youngest loved it, so ticked the box there. Used the hotels breakfast buffet a few times, which compared to IHop and Dennys was just about the same price if not a bit cheaper. The girls enjoyed the breakfast and the waffles were great. Reception staff were helpful and we never had any problems when we need to speak to them. Used Uber as taxi and this was great. We worked it out that as we were quiet central it was as as much if not a little bit cheaper than car hire. Collapse
