Let's start with the really positive, we had a fantastic room situation, in block e facing the sea and also over the gardens, and the balcony was a proper balcony, not in the walk ways which many of the rooms opened into. Particularly the ones in the ground floor opening into the walkway by the pool that would had been hideous and dark if we had been there. Fortunately we weren't and we had more than enough room in the one bedroom apartment. Sofa bed was fine for ten year old, it was a pull out, our bedroom was large and comfy and mini kitchen was equipped with enough things for us. As already mentioned our situation of the room was really good. The gardeners did an amazing job and I thought the layout of the gardens very attractive. There is disabled access in the gardens . The staff seemed lovely and were helpful. I wasn't sure if there were enough, for example on our first day we went to the pool which is nicely situated but only went there one day, because of the general area hygiene. We had walked around pool the night before at around 6 after we arrived and had seen that there were lots of plastic glasses, empty sangria bottles, cigarette packs etc left on and around the sunbeds. Sadly at 930 the next day all the rubbish was still there, and when we left the pool at 3 it was still there, or would have been if I hadn't gone picking up some every time I went for a wander. This is very different for example from other trips to three start accommodation where the pool is being cleaned early in the morning. When we went to the loo next to the pool there was no toilet roll and it was dirty, I checked the list on the wall in the toilet stating and signed when last cleaned, and it was four days earlier. This made me a bit concerned about the pool hygiene and so with the pool debris, dirty pool side toilet and possible suboptimal pool hygiene, we then spent the rest of the week on the beach. Collapse

My husband and I are here now celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We have been coming here since 1982 when we purchased our first Time Share here from Jack Petchey. As such we have a lot ot good memories and affection for the place. But these may not be enough any more to make us return here again. In short; room we booked did not materialise. Offered a studio with a pull down wall bed!! Now it is our anniversary and we are as adventurous as the next couple, but, no!!! Offered the room we had booked but only if we paid an extra 104 euros. We eventually settled for room D545 after being told it had a small balcony. It is small but we can get two sunbeds on it - as long as we use them standing up!! Food - mixed. Breakfast fair enough - it takes a lot to spoil bacon and sausage. Dinner - avoid!! Night one - offering was ribs that looked like someone had already had a good go at or chicken escalope that might not have been too bad had it been at least warm. Night two - chicken joints that beared no resemblance to any chicken that I have ever seen- unless the hens were from Chernobyl!! Add to that the building work on the new swimming pool and the dust accompanying that and it's just about perfect. So why am I here? We have a lot of affection for the place and how it used to be. The Portuguese staff are as always absolutely lovely from the gardeners, housekeepers and restaurant staff. Many have been here many years and must shake their heads at the way the place has been allowed to change for the worse. Like I said I am in the resort now. I don't want a copy and paste response from the "management" telling me that they take comments very seriously and have passed my comments onto the relevant people. Actions speak louder than words!! The resort has enjoyed the patronage of UK visitors for many years and if you don't act quickly they will start to vote with their feet!! Collapse

The hotel is at the bottom of a giant hill, the paving is old and dangerous so walking up to the strip is a chore. There are lots of renovations going on and the place is a building site. I wasn't to happy with our room, no double bed and a shower as opposed to a bath, I immediately went to the desk and politely requested another room.... he hem and hawed and finally told me there were no other rooms available. I later found out from the cleaners there were plenty of rooms with double beds and baths available. The beach was great, the Portugese people, as usual were the best but I would never stay there again. It wasn't cheap and for the price I didn't expect Faulty Towers, whichj is what I got. Collapse

Had an awesome experience in this hotel. Every penny was worth spending. I stayed in the hotel with my husband and child and was very comfortable. A typical getaway, as it was by the beach side and there were soo many restraunts at walking distance. Staff was extremly polite and helpful. Rooms were clean and housekeeping was very efficient. The best part was the poolside, they have seprate pools for the kida and adults and the wonderful outdoor jacuzzi. So overall an outstanding experience and very relaxing holiday. Looking forward to go and stay there again. Collapse
