This hotel was the biggest disappointment of an otherwise great holiday. The first disappointment was finding out that the room was located in an overflow block separate from the main building and all amenities, around a half mile away from the beach and a 10 minutes walk from the all-inclusive bar. The pool is much too small for a hotel of its size and the all inclusive bar is located on what looks like it was formerly a bowling green(the carpet is still down in some places) . The all-inclusive program was nothing short of joke, upon checking in, we were handed a 2 page document of the limitations on what we could do. Drinks were limited to either a half pint of Sagres, soft drinks or an other 'premium' (cheap) alcoholic drink. I would prefer not to mention the 'entertainment' on show, cheap magicians and dance troupes that failed to capture the attention. In short, if people are going to visit this hotel, do not go for the all-inclusive option, at least until the management get their act together and stop ripping off customers. Collapse

Myself and my daughter arrived around midnight, checked in easily enough but directions to the room were poor. Good on you if you can read a map in the dark! I was apprehensive as a couple were at reception (for the 2nd time) to report cockroaches in their room. We arrived in the room to see a "double" bed pulled down from the wall. We were so tired, we tried to sleep but the movement and creaks from the bed didn't help that. Changed room the following day to a twin room - much cleaner and loads of room - just needs a bit updated. Again, the beds were cot-like with the lumpiest mattresses ..... tried to explain how uncomfortable these were but apparently there were no other rooms unless we wanted to pay £175 for an upgrade. Our friends had the upgraded rooms and were indeed lovely but there literally was hardly any room to move. As soon as you opened the door you could fall onto the bed! ALL INCLUSIVE guests please note, you cannot get spirits at the main pool or in the dining room, you have to walk to the pool bar if you want gin/vodka/whisky, so think about full board as opposed to all inclusive. The food was fantastic and the restaurant staff are lovely, the only negative thing about the food was having lots of bones in the chicken stew. NOTE that you will not be given access to your room before 5pm, even if you arrive before noon. So many guests were sitting around a lot of the days extremely disappointed and angry. NOTE that there is a free bus to the shopping centre - a taxi from the hotel will cost you €15 each way. NOTE that a taxi ordered by the hotel to the airport is €45, there's a company called Yellow Fish (I think) and they take €30 for the same journey. One good point is that the gardens in the hotel are maintained beautifully. The reception staff seem to be on the desk all day and night which may be the cause of their stress/sometimes attitude. Have a look at other hotels (there are many) before booking this one. Collapse

I emailed the hotel to ask for a room facing the sea and got one. (665). The view was stunning. The hotel is huge and covers an immense area. We found the pool but we didn't use as it was very busy. They are building a new pool, sundeck area and bar near the beach gates which is below where our room was. The room was adequate for two people. The beds had crinkly plastic sheets under the cotton sheet which were a little uncomfortable and made a lot of noise when moving around! We arrived at 11pm and, desperate for a cuppa, we had to walk up into town to find some milk and water. There was none available in the hotel that we could see. From reception the walk into town is via a steep hill and the pavements are made up of small square blocks that are very uneven so I cannot see that they would be suitable for the infirm. From our room the walk to the beach was an easy 5 mins and there are some lovely restaurants, bars and supermarkets there. The beach is big with plenty of sunbeds. There are looky looky men but they are not pushy. We got a taxi to the old town which cost €5. The old town is very nice and we would recommend a visit. Collapse

We stayed in CPO early May. We were not disappointed. The studio room though is cramped but fine for two people. The room itself was of a great standard. The grounds are amazing, especially at night. It's a couple of minute walk from the beach and beachfront restaurants and a few min walk uphill to the strip. The staff are nice and helpful. Great place to stay. Will definitely be back. Collapse

Just back from a weeks stay here and would say without a doubt we would stay here again. Stayed in a deluxe room with sea view and it didn't disappoint. The complex is massive and lots of places to just sit and relax, beach a stones throw away. Only grumble would be the 2 single beds pushed together as would have preferred a double but hey ho. Bottle of bubbly delivered to the door for my birthday which was an unexpected and very nice touch. Room was spotless and cleaner in every other day to clean and change bedding and towels, alwaays a bonus. Would I recommend this place. Yes once all the building works are finished. Thanks for having us, look forward to returning Collapse
