Some (not all) of the check in staff here were extremely slow and not very helpful at all. On going to our room, we were a bit unhappy about the layout of the whole hotel. The balcony for every room is also the corridor that everyone walks along to get to their rooms, meaning that you have no real privacy on your balcony and no security for items left outside to dry. We paid for a sea view room, but the way the hotel is built you need to go out your patio doors, across this shared balcony then look at 90° to actually see the sea. The rooms on one side of the hotel definitely have a much better view than the others but even when we offered to pay to upgrade they just said no and we had one of the best rooms which obviously wasn't true. We went self catering which was just as well, as we paid to eat at the buffet in the hotel one night and it just wouldn't have cut it for 7 days. We paid 14€ a head and then discovered there was only one or two things we actually liked. We are not fussy eaters but the buffet was very limited and the kids had to stick to fish fingers and chips. On our last day we didn't fly till late at night but as expected had to check out the room by 10. Like most hotels they have room to leave luggage in, and they kindly said they would give us towels to use and we could use the pool showers. However when we went to shower they then said that they had no towels left. No apology or alternative was offered, therefor we had to dig through our cases to get beach towels out and go for a shower in a flooded and smelly toilet block. I personally would not stay here again, but would look for somewhere a bit more modern with more helpful staff. Collapse

This was our fifth visit and on the whole we loved it. Quick check in and helpful porter who took us to our apartment. Balcony was amazing, we got the sun first thing in the morning and watched the sun go down in the evening. Good bedroom, with air conditioning but kitchen area was very small. Kettle right next to the sink not a good idea, few utensils and no corkscrew which was a catastrophe!!! We had one white patio chair with the table on the balcony and had to ask 4 times for another one which didn't impress us at all. Location great. Right on the beach, which has a lovely restaurant. Beach kept very clean and safe for swimming. Delighted also with the second pool which wasn't there 3 years ago, used everyday and so pleased that you can appear to use it whenever you want. Good central base to visit the Algarve. We drove everywhere and paid to park in the hotel car park as roadside around CPO is very limited. A great holiday and looking forward to return next year! We booked this holiday and accommodation through expedia. Lovely location just a stroll to the beach. Unfortunately the hotel reception staff are painfully slow for check in / check out. Friendly staff, but so slow to deal with (even for the most simple issues / requests). Nice swimming pools. Towel hire available. €12 for a week (Very Reasonable). There are rooms without Air Conditioning. We paid a fee to upgrade to a room with Air Conditioning. This is an absolute necessity in June / July or August. Recommendation - Each room should have an air conditioning system as standard. Overall nice accommodation in a good location. Collapse
Would never stay here again

Myself and my husband booked this with our boys age 3 and 7. We arrived at midnight and were taken to out apartment which was s block. This is outside the hotel, across the road and half way up the hill of the one way street down to the hotel. We then had to struggle up a flight of stairs with our stuff and my little one sleeping in his buggy. There was graffiti on the wall outside and groups of guys opposite partying on their balconys. Inside the apartmens was basic and very old. There was a room with a very small double bed and a pull out bed under the old dirty smelly sofa in the living room. The room was disappointing but clean. We arrived on Sunday evening and had to wait until Friday for our room to be cleaned and fresh towels left. The food was ok although everything in the childrens section was very cold. After our 1st few days the 1 resteraunt (jacs) for all inclusive guests was heaving. We just ate mega quick and moved on. The breakfast were horrid so we left these mostly. The childrens pool was dirty and cigarette butts lying about. The hot tubs were disgustingly dirty. Childrens show night happened 1 time in our 10 days but was really good. All other nights were pretty poor. The bowling green is a huge area with green carpet thats full of holds and all pulling up so had to be careful when walking on it. Pool table, rude on car ect were constantly breaking but kept taking our euros. Bar charged me €4 for a bottle of water because i wanted to take it to the beach. (I was happy to pay but that amount is shocking). We were awake every single night with party goers coming and going, cars racing constantly throughout the night and groups of boys and girls all around us singing, shouting, and fighting all night long. Even gad to take the kids out of the pool one day as a couple were having a proper fight and the woman was chucking stuff in the poor. Reception were so slow. Evertime I spoke to them it took an hour. They offered me another room that was full of rubbish. (Actual rubbish). We spent every day at the beach or the old town. Came out our apartment one day and there was spew all over the street. Guys climbing from one balcony down to others. Girls in apartment under us with used condoms lying over their balcony the morning after. The sunloungers were all broken or filthy. Really bad experience for us and would never recommend. Everyone I spoke to during our time there were complaining about their rooms. Amazing beach, shocking hotel! Collapse
