Honestly, when I read some of the reviews on here before our trip, I was terrified. It just goes to show you should never believe everything you read. We stayed in the copacabana building and it was wonderful. The room was spotless as was the bathroom and huge shower. The food was different everyday. There was a huge choice of Mediterranean veg and fruit as all inclusive can sometimes just consist of burgers and hotdogs. This is quite a Hotspot for German stag do's and Spanish students but who wants to go to a foreign country just to see more brits? They could be loud but they are also on holiday and should be having a good time. There are many pools that cater for different preferences. If you want a quiet holiday then go to bornemouth or get a villa in the middle of nowhere!! All I can say is that if you choose to go 3 star and expect 5 then more fool you but I would say that this could be a 4*. I will be returning here for sure. I hope whoever reads this finds it useful and reassuring Collapse

Ok so a bit about me, im a family man i look for positivies rather than negatives and very easy going. Onto the hotel, lovely resort 4 swimming pools no issues getting a bed around the pools Rooms - basic but nice however someone mentioned german stag parties being here, yeap thats defo correct infact when 10 german men left 20 more arrived but they were fine they love a drink and a sing song no hassle at all. The problem for me was the spanish students 16-18 they were fine in day but up all night i was hearing them at 5am luckily my family slept through it but for myself i was on the brink of delivering hundreds of RKOs out of nowhere (wwe reference youtube it) there was that many that one night my 4 year old son had to have nachos for dinner we couldnt get to anything else due to the swarm of students and this was 9pm at night. Entertainment started at 10pm hence why we tried to leave dinner as late as possible. Its not the hotels fault for the people it accommodates for however its certainly set in stone this is a young persons hotel very lively 24hours a day and night. No english bars in el arenal so no family entertainment. I came for a quiet holiday had i have known how lively this holiday would have been like i may aswell have stayed in magluf Collapse

My wife and I have just returned from the Palm Bay, I will start with the good, the cleaners are fantastic the facilities were good i.e. Pools sun-beds etc the reception staff were extremely helpful although they were almost always busy it's location was good never needed taxis the food was ok but a bit repetitive and bland. Right the bad first it's the German stag parties drinking from morning to night they were loud obnoxious brash to top it off when we were leaving there was a group of them naked on there balcony in full view of families with young children then there was the Spanish juveniles (15 to 17 year olds) hundreds of them with no adult supervision getting drunk and making noise all night long. It's a pity without the Germans and Spanish this could have been a good resort. Although I will not be returning. Collapse

My husband and I live on the island and have stayed in many hotels 3, 4 and 5 stars. This hotel is by far the best value we have come across. We paid €70 all inclusive. Compare this price with what you could get in the UK. Perhaps a B&B in a seaside town. For €70 at Palma Bay Club Resort you get breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks including spirits, fresh pizza slices, BBQ hut, snack bar, 5 swimming pools, mini golf, tennis, kids play area, sauna. It’s hard to believe the hotel can be making a profit. When reading some of the other reviews for this hotel the complaints are laughable: You can order 2 drinks per person at the bar in small plastic cups. This makes total sense for a hotel operating on such a tight margin. They are trying to reduce waste to improve their profit margin. The plastic cups are completely necessary around the pool area; it would be very dangerous otherwise. Inside the restaurants there are glasses for the drinks. There is no limit on the number of times you can go to the bar and it does you good to get off your sun bed and stretch your legs. There are no pool towels. Again, if the hotel had to provide and launder pool towels for every guest, how would they make a profit? You can simply buy a towel from the beach shops for around €8. Only 1 sachet of shampoo. Just go and buy a bottle of shampoo for €2. There is a Spar supermarket 20 meters from the hotel. The wifi isn’t free. It only costs €15 per week for the wifi and is a reasonable extra charge for the hotel to make. I think the hotel has a great balance between the price they offer and what is included. If you want pool towels, wifi, toiletries, giant drinks and glasses you would be paying at least €100 per night for the room. The main complex consists of 3 hotel blocks – Hawaii, Copacabana and Acapulco. Directly across the street is Habana with its own pool. Then there are 3 other blocks a couple of minutes away – Nubia, Sahara and Gobi/Rio. You check in at the Hawaii block which is on Carrer Amilicar (Amilicar Street) off Carrer Bartolome (Bartolome Street). Yes there are German teenagers around the complex. There are also quite a few Spanish teenagers. It looked like it was the first holiday without their parents for many of them. There are also British, Irish, French and Russian families. It seemed to me that the hotel had tried to put all the teenage guests in the same hotel block. Where we stayed in the Copacabana block it was couples and families although I imagine this is not always possible. I saw absolutely no trouble from the teenage guests. They were nothing like British teenagers. They just chat, swim, play on their phones and eat pizza. El Arenal is a German resort. This is not a secret. If you want to be surrounded by British people you should book a hotel in Palmanova or Magaluf. The beach is long and clean with a wide promenade. There are lots of reasonably priced bars and restaurants if you want a break from the hotel. Aqualand water park is only about a mile away. All areas of the hotel were very clean especially the room. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was powerful. The air conditioning is good and we had a nice balcony with a sea view. At night you can see the lights all across Palma bay. The pools are fabulous. The one outside the Copacabana block in particular is perfect as there is a lot of shade from the pine trees. All of the pools have stacks of sun beds. Some of the pools are quite deep (1.70m). Great for adults but watch the kids for running in without you (there are kids’ pools too). Having said that, there are life guards at all pools. The pool terraces are cleaned daily. I thought the food was quite good. It’s not gourmet but they are not charging gourmet prices. At lunch they had some lovely beef and at dinner there was chicken and fish freshly cooked on the hot plate and perfectly seasoned. Breakfast was delicious with Spanish tortilla, fresh cooked eggs, pancakes and pastries. At all meals there was fresh fruit available. The most amazing thing for me was the staff. Everyone that I spoke to and I mean everyone, was super friendly and helpful. Reception, snack bar, pool bar, pizza bar, BBQ lady, guy paining the walls, animation team and all of the housekeeping ladies. They are working long hours in 36 degree heat and still manage a smile. This hotel delivered on every promise it made. It doesn’t pretend to be a five star hotel. They are honest about what is included. Whoever manages this hotel has found the perfect balance of quality, value and service for this particular room rate. I can’t see how they could give you more for the price. I would stay here again without hesitation. Collapse

Otherwise - food and room not so good, but you get What you pay for - so i would give 4**** if it was not because of the bad service Collapse
