What you see on the brochure is NOT what you get . We booked 5 nights away in a 3 star hotel . On arrival we were allocated the most sub standard room I have ever seen ( room 125 in Sahara hotel ) , sister hotel . We went to the reception where staff stated we booked 1 star accommodation. . We are demanded an upgrade or refund , staff were not helpful. But after demanding a move saying I would not let a dog sleep in the room we were offered a change of room . The room was not perect but better . The room window opened to a side ally, the room was a 2 minute walk away from the main complex. The food and restaurant were acceptable , but we did see a mouse inside the hotel by the entrance to the food hall . Drinks at the bar were poor quality . Asked for one of the all inclusive cocktail, one sip and we left it on another table , discusting. it was noted local youths seemed to be hanging around the hotel on a regular basis. , written on their sweat shirts ( talent scouts ) ??. What's this about ? I could go on writing about this hotel , save your money and go else where . Collapse

Upon arriving in our 3* hotel room we were shocked to find no memory foam mattresses, or plasma TVs. We had a regular toilet but a small toilet that resemble a sink, which I found very hard to dispose of a number two in. After an adequate nights sleep, we spent our day sunbathing by one of the 5 pools. I was immediately harassed by a wasp that would not leave me alone, after I told it to go away, I believe it probably didn't speak English. During the day we used the poolside snack bar, that did not serve any caviar or champagne, which I assumed would be served. One of the days, the pool was closed due to cloudy water, but to my annoyance, that is exactly how I like my pool water, this place does not cater to all tastes of pool water. On the second day we went down to the beach, where I was continuously offered narcotics, I had never taken a drug in my life, but ever the bargain hunter...... after little sleep on the third night, some noisy German neighbours moved in, which we found tolerable, but I am now a fan of German trans music and lederhosen. Two days of our holiday were spent in our room due to cold and rainy weather, which I never paid for and blame the hotel entirely for. When the sun did reappear, I found it intolerably hot after being used to the cold weather, I also Blame this on the hotel. There was also no music played in the elevators and I found the 15 second elevator trip mind numbingly boring. Another annoyance I found were that the poolside sunbeds had to be manually adjusted, into the sitting up position from the laying down position. I had purchased water proof sun cream, which the pool water washed off, this I believe is due to the pool water being too wet. I found the resorts many steps and slight gradients a chore after grazing on the all inclusive food, especially in wet flip flops. The bar staff gave very generous measures of spirits, and I awoke more than one day with a hangover, this I also blame on the resort, as on holiday I am not responsible for my own actions. I have taken some helpful pictures of the room, but I have decided not to attach them, but I will attach some photos of the fish in the aquarium instead. I saw 3 people that looked like billy connelly, which left me feeling embarrassed after asking for autographs on numerous occasions. I am afraid I must leave my review there as my German trans music is draining my phone battery and I need to iron my lederhosen. Collapse

Spent last week at the hotel with my husband, first impressions not good. Very abrupt check in and no one to show you to your room or help with luggage. Our hotel, Rio, was off complex and dificult to find in dark. Room VERY basic but clean and lovely hot shower. No balcony or chair in room. Some balconies were no bigger than a child's safety gate, others looking out onto filthy walls, some were ok. Balconies in main complex much nicer. The "restaurant" can only be described as a self service canteen, but good options for food. Tables were very slow to be cleared but the very over worked staff tried their best.. Cannot imagine what it must be like in the height of season. Evening adult "entertainment" poor. A few rowdy, loud german visitors but on the whole everyone friendly. There is 24 hour spar on site and another by Rio hotel and i must mention the lovely lady who works in there. Far better help for local information than reception!!... thank you.... Lovely beach 5 mins walk away. Collapse

Well not having stayed in this area before and thinking it was August I knew it was going to be busy, but I wasn't expecting the mix of holiday makers in this hotel from young families to groups of early twenties men and women out on the sauce. I don't think I had one night where I wasn't woken up during the night. The hotel itself was clean and the hotel staff worked really hard and were always polite even under the large volume of activities and people they needed to deal with. The hotel is situated in the German sector which isn't a problem. The beach is a 5 minute walk and it's lovely. Collapse

Please read this for the truth!!! Party of 6 (two adults’ four children). On arrival we were allocated a room with no instruction as to where it was (the number system in the hotel was very confusing) by luck we found a cleaner who helped us after we wandered helplessly for twenty minutes with all our luggage and four children in tow. This was at 10 pm, we were told no snack available and no water supplied in the room. The room 1 was cramped, dated, falling apart, dirty and depressing. we weren't given rooms next door (even though I had emailed the hotel explaining three of the children were mine so I needed next door rooms). when I complained about this I was advised to return in the morning. I have email correspondence to prove this if there is dispute! in the morning starving we went for breakfast.....in the Acapulco .....awful does not cover it. This was more like a cattle market, herding people around the room, no tables available or cleared for use. No clean knives and forks my children ate with their fingers!! Queuing in lines of rude people who barge and push their way through, sweat to sweat skin to skin at every turn. the food had run out, no fruit and no eggs either. The food was cold and un inviting. I honestly felt like crying. When we got back to reception we were presented with rude staff, non-committal saying there was nothing wrong with the rooms. I demanded a new room and explained that I needed next door due to three of the children being mine (1 adult two children per room). We were met with resistance and told it wasn't possible, I told them that this was no way a three star establishment and that I demand a new room one like in the brochures and the restaurant was a disgrace and I will not eat in it. Then I was told that we could be 'upgraded' to the Copacabana restaurant (red band) still part of this so called 3 start establishment!! All 3 star yet this restaurant was non comparable, cleaner, quieter and food hot and available for us. we were so relieved. But I ask you? why should there be such a pot luck system when booking this hotel?? as in you could be lucky and get that part of the '3 star' or you may be unlucky and get the other part of the 3 star!! totally not acceptable and more like a 1 star. Back to the room dilemma!! so we eventually were told that they cant move us today but will move us tomorrow because they have to now I've asked for it....they said as part of this I would have to check out at 11 then come back at check in time at 2!!! so basically pack up, store cases for half a day then check back in!! we weren't happy but for the sake of a better less depressing room and to be next door to each other we will do it!! we returned at two to find that they had found us two rooms in the hotel rio....across the road, apparently better rooms but we then notice that they are on 2oppositte sides of the floor!! 407 and 435 even further away than I was before from my third child!! but we had already checked out at 11!! we went to see the distance of this and found the rooms to be brighter, lighter and more spacious!! better in fact ....this was merely on the surface unfortunately. I had no fight left in me so agreed to stay put before wasting anymore of our one week holiday on these rude non helpful completely un empathetic staff at reception!!! that includes the manager who I asked to see who did upgrade the food (very grateful although I still question why such a difference in restaurant's) but I had no reassurance about the rooms being next to each other!! problems with the rooms we were 'upgraded to' Sink that did not drain (we informed reception they did nothing) my kids and I had to wash hands with wipes and do teeth with one splash of water. wardrobe door hanging off room 435. rooms not cleaned only beds made daily! Ants all over the floors room 407 (reported to reception no one came) one towel change in our seven day stay!! one bathroom bin available, no other bin. cold showers at all times in room 407 view awful and depressing in room 407. no mattress covers on the beds imagine the germs!! no tables on balcony in any room. no tv remotes you have to pay! other things to know!! no free wifi anywhere in hotel. drinks basically non alcoholic (don't bother). all bars close at 11 no music outdoors sounds more like a weatherspoons...very depressing! all staff over worked so are constantly miserable and too busy to offer any kind of customer service. only one reception area in all of the four/five hotels which also happens to be on route to the snack bar...good luck getting through the constant herds of people! on day of leaving we couldn’t fit our bags in their ‘courtesy’ room so we had to have them with us by the pool!! Happy holidays…do not go here! Collapse
