My partner,4 children & i have just returned from a week holiday at this hotel, We stayed in 2 rooms in the Habana building. Both rooms were a little dated in decor but clean. Rooms were cleaned everyday, beds made & fresh towel's supplied everyday also. Staff were friendly. There was plenty of choice of food for lunch & dinner but became a bit samey & boring towards the end of the week. San miguel, red & white wine on tap. The outside bar was open but with the hotel being full to capacity (2000 people) we thought the top poolside bar being open would have allieviated the constant que as maybe would have bigger cups. There is a 2 drinks only per person per time at the bar & the cups were small - only 200ml. The all inclusive bar in the Habana building where the disco happens, opens at 8pm but closes at 11pm although you could buy your drinks after this time. Barman Joel was always smiley & friendly & made us laugh with his ice cube tricks! There is a very relaxed atmosphere & we didnt have to rush down at 7am to save sunbeds. The place did seem to be plagued with flys that just wouldnt let a person relax. This is a 3 star hotel & would not be oposed to visiting again if like this time we got a cheapish deal. If this was our only holiday i wouldnt be entirely happy if we'd paid 'in season' prices. The place does need some fine tweaking & updating. Collapse

Booked this hotel about 3/4 weeks before we went after reading some reviews but not really taking them to heart. We were a little apprehensive however we throughly enjoyed our break. The room was clean and spacious, powerful shower plenty of storage room for clothes etc. There are 5 pools in total 2 kids pools and 3 normal pools. There were always lifeguards on duty. Plenty of room for sunbathing if you get the weather. The pool areas were cleared and tidied every evening. We stayed in the Acapulco building and the restaurant in there was big and had plenty of choice on food. Hot buffet food everyday for Breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as plenty of cold options. Food was also well cooked. One of out party is a vegetarian and a fussy eater but she always found plenty to eat. Drinks served with lunch/dinner include wine and beer as well as cold drinks that you help yourself too. Restaurant staff were very pleasant and helpful. The main outdoor bar was outside our block and choices again were plentiful. Cocktails, Beer, Wine, Spirits and Liquors. Hotel staff were very helpful we had a slight personal issue while we were there and they couldn't have been more helpful. Patrick one of the managers was very friendly and really tried to help us out. The beach was a 5 minute walk away past plenty of shops and even Pizza places. The beach front was beautiful and had plenty of shops and bars we tried a different one each night for a cocktail and none of them were over priced. The beach itself was clean and had a life guard on duty and it wasn't a far walk to the marina where you could hire jet skis etc. Overall we had a really nice week away and would love to go back to this hotel in the future, as it was off season some of the bars/restaurants weren't open so would be nice to go back when it's fully open. Just got back from the palma bay resort, Majorca.... After reading the more recent reviews we thought we were in for a nightmare...its 5 mins to the beach, average beer and food prices...ie, beer 2-3 euro...meals anything from 5-20 euro...the no 25 bus gets you to palma in 20 mins...all the shopping you need is there..from designer to souvenirs.... Now back to the hotel... There is 3 or 4 buildings...we were in Rio....which was good...beds OK..shower clean powerful...and the size was good....I can't comment on the others, but did hear a few complaints..from food to uncleaned rooms.....we had no bother with the food...plenty of it and diverse....it had 2 clean pools...and a good snack bar...the place is geared up for the dutch and German tourists...but everyone seems to speak perfect English...deffo go again ..but earlier in the year next time...many thanks to all the staff, they worked really hard for your pleasure Collapse

A re-review of last year when I visited in October. This year stayed end of September for 5 nights. I'll give a quick breakdown of the various aspects, For a more detailed review see my entry for last October. HOTEL: Main hotel is split into 5 blocks, Acapulco, Habana, Hawaii, Rio and Copacabana. We (7 of us) stayed in the Rio block, which is just outside main gates and round corner, So only 2-3 minute walk to main complex. ROOMS: Our room in Rio was basic but modern, With a walk in shower, 4 x single beds (2 pushed together to make 2 doubles), flat screen TV and balcony. FOOD AND DRINK: Has a couple of restaurants although you are allocated one of these. Main restaurant is a help yourself canteen type, I found plenty of variety and all was hot and tasty. A couple of different meats every day, Fish, Vegetarian and salad options so there were plenty of options, Even for the most fussy eater. A snack bar id located under Hawaii, Where you can get soft drinks, Chips, Toasties, nuggets/burgers etc. Drinks are self service in Main canteen, There is the main pool bar and a smaller bar up the top near the crazy gold which is quieter and more shaded. Beer is San Miguel and vodka and white wine drinkable. LOCAL AREA: 10 minute walk to beach, Shorter walk to many bars (Recommend Bier express, De Zaak, Bar rosaba and Double Dutch). Market around 20 minute walk. SUMMERY: For the price you pay, I think it is a great hotel. Food is tasty and there is plenty of different choices even for the pickiest eater, Staff were friendly and helpful, Rooms were basic but I just used it as somewhere to sleep (If you want to spend all day in a room then why go on holiday?). As with everything, You can't accept paying fairly cheap prices but expecting 5* luxury, It doesn't work like that! Would recommend and will be returning next year, don't listen to people moaning, Yes the hotel is a little dated but again, You get what you pay for! Collapse
