I hate to be the bearer of bad news. I'm usually someone who always has something positive to say. I'm not stuck up by any stretch but.... We returned yesterday after a 10 day stay at Club Mac. Myself, my boyfriend and our 10 month old baby. And oh my, what an over-crowded hectic hotel that place is!! I could barely fit my tiny buggy through the lift doors it's so narrow!! Thank god I didn't bring my usual travel system as we'd have been carrying it and down up 5 floors of stairs everyday! The food is so basic and sometimes dodgy and dry. Worst part of it my boyfriend was sooooo sick for 2 days after some undercooked fish fingers! And a couple of times I cut open chicken to find it pink inside! The restaurants are like school canteens, everyone behaving like vulchers and animals to get to the food! Cutting in front of you and often pushing you out the way! Was a nightmare to find a table to sit our baby down and feed her. The rooms. Well apparently our room was a "family room". I'm sorry, but that's laughable! There was literally NO SPACE for us to move or for my baby to do anything in there other than sit in her cot bored out of her head when we got ready in the evenings! And the cot wasn't stable at all. Screws kept falling out of it and I dreaded the night the whole thing would collapse and I'd turn over to find my baby on the floor. We were meant to be in the quiet section yet the same room near us was loud every day and night and smoking weed constantly as the fumes came in our room. I have never been to any all inclusive hotel where you have to PAY to hire a kettle lol. Which obviously we had to do as we had to boil water for our baby's bottle feeds. They make their money's worth out of you I'm telling ya. Paying for sun beds at the water park. What a joke! The pool side is stupidly crowded, a million sun beds stacked but nowhere to actually put them lol. I couldn't push my buggy through anywhere as people are so rude and wouldn't move to let anyone through. Positives!!! Entertainment team. Lovely. Friendly, funny, welcoming. Staff also friendly. Can't fault them on that. Cleaners do a good job of your room. There's lots for kids and babies to do on the complex. But it's just far too chavvy and overcrowded and those lifts are ridiculously narrow! And the restaurants are gross! I'm not gonna say I didn't enjoy my stay, the holiday is what you make of it but I have had a whole lot better from a 3* accommodation. Collapse

We stayed at the Club Mac for 7 nights between 16 and 23 May, with 4 adults and 4 children (aged 2, 7, 9 and 13) in our party. We can't fault the hotel and were very impressed. The hotel is immaculately clean, with staff working constantly to maintain the high standards. We stayed in standard rooms which were perfectly adequate and we didn't find them overly small; there was enough space/storage for our needs. Beds were comfortable, rooms cleaned daily, fresh towels provided and bed linen changed when needed (the hotel operates an eco friendly system with guests signalling a request for fresh towels by leaving dirty towels in the bath and leaving a card on the bed if a bed linen change is required, which worked perfectly). The food was lovely, amazing choice, delicious breakfasts, theme nights, kids choices etc. Restaurant staff were helpful and again worked tirelessly clearing tables and refilling food and drink areas continuously. There were occasional queues but we never had to wait long. The late dinner option is a great idea, restaurant times and the availability of hot and cold snacks meant there was always food available and easily accessible. There is 24 hour access to tea, coffee, juices etc. The drinks at the bars were lovely, and included frozen alcoholic cocktails, slushies for children, ice pops etc. The entertainment team also worked hard, the 7 and 9 year old girls in our group enjoyed the Mac dances each night. Staff are friendly and welcoming throughout. The hotel has thought of everything to ensure your holiday is memorable, including a free courtesy bus to the beach, free access to the Hidropark (which is great), early check out breakfast, daily programme/news letter, free armbands, facility for weighing suitcases etc. All in all, an amazing complex, great pools and facilities, lovely grounds, friendly and helpful staff and we will definitely return. Stayed a week 17th-24th May 2017 and couldn't fault the hotel at all. Brilliant entertainment, (Nathan and Elaina, the entertainers made it even better!) The Guest Satisfaction Department did their upmost to ensure my friend enjoyed his 18th Birthday in the week we stayed. Unfortunately, the looky looky men are a tad annoying but nothing to do with hotel and nothing hotel can do. Food was brilliant, swimming pools fantastic, lifeguards were very friendly and the hidropark was just fun, fun, fun! Other guests we met will become lifelong friends hopefully and made the holiday a memorable and enjoyable stay. If your looking for a family/kid friendly, all inclusive get away, look no further! My husband and myself had a really lovely holiday with our two children. It was a lot more stress free than I had imagined as its so child friendly and safe. Could chill near the pool side watching our children whilst knowing they were safe, particularly the Dragon pool. The train that goes around The lake twice a day was a favourite with my two, the man who drove it was lovely with the kids. The hotels and grounds were spotless. Food was great, loads to choose from for breakfast and tea. We were quite happy with the burgers and chips from the lake side bar every day for lunch so we didn't see what other food was available at lunch time. Cold water taps around the hotel and grounds were a great addition as we just kept our water bottle topped up without needing to buy fresh water from the shop. Lots of different drinks to choose from, the rose wine was lovely as were the alcoholic slushes and the chocolate milkshakes. One thing that did let the holiday down was a family who were very rude to staff and other guests. This included pushing to the front of the queue to get drinks, even though every one else was waiting their turn in the queue, littering around the grounds which was absolutely disgusting the amount of the litter around where they were sat was shocking. Also letting their children be unruly, letting them picking up other kids swimming toys that didnt belong to them and throwing them about. They were also very rude to the bar staff and basically were intimidating and rude to other families using the hotel. Luckily they arrived a couple of days before we let so we didn't have to witness anymore from them. Aside from this we had a fab week and we will definitely return again . Collapse

Just returned from what was supposed to be a 7 day family holiday with my partner and 2 sons but was that bad we got a flight home after 24 hours. Please take note that ALL bad reviews are true. My double pram wouldn't fit though any doors or lifts in the hotel . Room was very dusty asked numerous times for a change of room even said I'd pay but apparently no rooms available. I'd advise anyone with baby's to take own travel cot as cot not fit for a dog. Staff very moody and rude on the reception apart from a new man who had just started he was lovely. Electricity in room not working, phone and shower broken. Food was like school dinners absolute JOKE. Ques for everything far too many people in the hotel. These are just a few points in this review but il be taking this further. Leaving after 24 hours was not expected and are devastated for our children but wasn't prepared to let them stay in this absolute dump will never ever return and il be advising anyone NOT to book .
