My wife and I normally holiday by ourselves but this year went with our son daughter in law and 2 grandchildren. Well could not have asked for a better holiday from the minute we checked we were looked after. Very well organised, yes a little que for drinks but only a matter on mins, quad longer for a macdonald in U.K. Staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant well that was the best we have experienced from all our travels. From the moment you arrive to dine you are looked after. Hands must have a scrub before you enter for hygiene purposes. You are then shown to your table with a card on it to say it is occupied. Food was very good and bordering on better than some foods we have had from so called 4 star hotels. Pools were clean never seen anything that others had said they have seen. Entertainment was ok plenty to keep kids happy after all it is first and foremost a family hotel. In all a great holiday and we will return. THanks Club Mac. Collapse

David P in his review of 18 August 2017 sums it up, although we obviously timed our restaurant visits well as we didn't queue once for any of our meals. My youngest son (8) enjoyed his holiday, my other son (10) less so as he got a vomiting bug while we were there. The pools are manically busy; to give you some idea there were 3000+ guests at the complex during our stay. It was much more pleasant, yet still very crowded, at the Hidro Park across the road. On a more positive note, we found all the hotel staff incredibly helpful and friendly and the fresh fruit and cheese in the restaurants, particularly Marte, was delicious. We can also recommend the staff at the pharmacy about 15 minutes walk away when you need Imodium and rehydration tablets! Now I'm home I can see the funny side of the whole experience, but I would not consider staying here again. Collapse

Arrived early, so fortunate in that there was no queue at all for check in, did have to wait for room to be ready, 5 hrs in fact, but wasn't a problem as there is a room for you to leave luggage in. Yes it is a very busy hotel but knew it would be when we booked. Our party was 6 people consisting of 2 young teens, 2 adult teens, and 2 adults. We all enjoyed our stay although my wife and I did start to get slightly bored by the end. Evening entertainment was very good, staff very polite and professional, Hotel very clean, food was very good also. Did queue but don't be put off as the queues go down very quickly, why rush? you are on holiday. Kids enjoyed the waterpark. They couldn't stop smiling. Shouldn't admit it but think I enjoyed it as much as they did. Yes there are lots of children running around, but don't tell me yours won't be. If you have kids it's a great place to be. If you haven't then don't book this hotel. Collapse

If you read up on this hotel you'll go knowing what the expect and will be very happy with what you find. I'll break it down for you. Hotel itself. Massive. If you want a quiet holiday this isn't the place for you. Two nine floor blocks and one six floor block create the overall hotel. So it's incredibly busy all the time. And yet it didn't feel overcrowded. They are clean freaks. Make you use hand sanitiser on the way in to the restaurant to stop the spread of germs- you won't be allowed in if you don't!. It's true what other reviews say - if only some families kept an eye on ensuring that the kids followed the rules, some (a few) were left to run amok. Even the pool area was kept stupidly clean. Twice in the past two days a child had an 'accident' in the pool we were at and it was closed for three hours. That being said with the water park access it was a perfect excuse to head over there. Barely fifty yards from back exit to water park entrance you didn't need to take anything bar yourself over there. Plus you queue jump and then you save on the €20+ entry fee. We went 8/10 days in the late afternoon. Chucked a towel on a single sunbed and flip-flops under it and enjoyed the rides and two wave pool sessions they do at 4 & 5pm. (NB They only do one in the morning). Our two kids loved this and at 8 and 11 years old there wasn't a single inappropriate ride for them and the rides were still enjoyable for the big kids! The vast majority of the staff throughout the hotel work incredibly hard with a smile on their face. Rooms We had upgraded to a superior room which included a fridge, wifi for the duration and many satellite tv channels. When we arrived this wasn't available for one night. Hardly ideal but they kitted out our standard room with everything we should have had bar the layout. I obviously made the rep aware as this shouldn't have been sold to us if it wasn't available but this was resolved. What it meant was we had to live out of a case for 24 hours until we could unload. When we reached our superior room it was as described and you see in the pics. The living/sleeping area isn't the largest but this is somewhat offset by a shower and bathroom you can go for a wander in. Wifi on tap aids the contact with home and the tv meant we could keep abreast with the start of the footie season on Sky Sports. (Channels for all by the way!) Other than that the additions in a standard room of fridges, wifi, microwaves, hair dryer etc you have to pay for but we knew that when we read online prior. Hence our upgrade. Entertainment Varied - they bought in some weird circus style acts on the big aptly named Circus stage along with a ridiculously good comedian and a very good hypnotist. Plus the usual hotel team putting on their own shows. Get there early to grab a table or sit in the stands like we did every night perfectly content, with a great view. The prelude to this was a €2 a card bingo event where there is hefty line and full house prizes. This was obviously made somewhat better by us winning the full house prize of €926 one night! On the Saturno stage each night there were other 'smaller' acts that sing or performed. It seems this is the try-out for the bigger stage. When I google George Panos the comedian I could see him perform on the Saturno stage on YouTube. En route to the main stage they set up a variety of market style stalls. You can get your caricature drawn, but a crepe or waffle or purchase some jewellery. Clearly not all inclusive but the sort of thing you would sample in the town. Gave off a nice ambience to be fair. Food We thought was exceptional for how big this place was. Yes there is a queue to get into the restaurant, what restaurant do you not wait for a table in one of the big chains over here?! Yes there are queues for the bars but the longest we waited all week was 5/10 mins. I wait longer at my local drive thru. But the range of food and themes were lovely. A full English was enjoyed every morning. When we won the bingo we considered eating out one night but with the quality of the food it seemed pointless. At no stage did any of the four of us not have a plate of food we enjoyed. During the day you can access the restaurants (3 of them) or go via their own burger bar at pool side between the Saturno pool and the circus arena. You may find the waiting and queues more problematic if you are a larger group. Resort We walked to the beach during one cloudy day. A lovely beech to be fair. We walked from one pier down to the port which is also a lovely area. The town itself is very nice. Not too rowdy and when we ventured into town one evening for a wander the smells coming from some of the restaurants and the dishes we saw looked immense. If it remained the same I'd happily take the family there next year without batting an eyelid. Collapse

Arriving late in the evening reminded me of some of the more out there scenes from Appocalypse Now. Masses of Adults and Children running from venue to venue as if they had no one in charge. A superb place for children who want to be on one of the many pools etc. A fantastic place for adults who wish to laugh at some of the worst tattoos ever seen in public. The food is remarkably good the the lining up is massively frustrating but unavoidable due to the very nature of the place. Loud annoying children who are in a majority have obviously been brought by their equally irritating families ( highlighting there is nothing quite as embarrassing as the British holiday maker). Bring mosquito spray and a thick skin and enjoy an excellent child centred holiday. Use the free busses to the beech and the Port (It's not a port it's just a place to drink and eat) to escape the club and you'll be onto a winner. The Hydro Park is across the road and free so you can dip in and out to get food back at the hotel. The Spar shop across the road is close and cheaper than the hotel. As for the Pirates Show....... I being forced to this tonight......£250 for a family of 4 it better be good.......i suspect not though. Enjoy Collapse
