The Chateau Clery is well situated, being only 35 minutes drive from the Channel Tunnel and reachable within ten minutes of leaving the A16 motorway. The Chateau itself is quite small but has several renovated out building which provide comfortable accommodation. It is well located for visiting the costal resorts on the Pay-de-Calais region such as Le Touquet and Boulogne. We had half board. The evening meal was perfection. Even the Table d'hôte menu was excellent, the chef is a true master!! Unfortunately the hotel let itself down by not having a chef on duty for breakfast. The hot buffet was confined to one small hot plate, sectioned into three part. The scrambled egg was dried up and well over cooked. Instead of bacon they served very thin slices of ham which had been warmed up, but were stuck to each other. The last section contained small pork sausages. These were ok. There was also a cooked meat (ham) and cheese, fruit salad and lots of different bread and pastries which were fine. Basically the breakfast was as you would expect apart from the hot food which was not up to the standard of the establishment. Their wine menu was very extensive with a wide range of wines at various prices, some also sold by the glass. The bedroom we had was in the old farm house complex which was fine. There was plenty of electric radiators, a bathroom and separate toilet off the hall in which there was also a large wardrobe with spare pillows and blanket. Slippers were provided but not a dressing gown. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with varying abilities to speak english. Collapse

Selected this hotel for an easy journey from the Channel Tunnel. Booked a deluxe room on a half-board basis. Lovely room situated in wooded setting. Looked out from a very comfortable bed each morning to views of mature trees and grass. Very peaceful setting. Plenty of storage space. Room benefits from underfloor heating with additional heating if needed. Room could get too warm if you are not careful. Short walk to dining room, bar, etc. OK when weather good but an umbrella would be handy if it is raining (none supplied). Inclusive dinner menu has two choices for each of 3 courses. Food at dinner generally good. Wine list OK. Buying wine by the glass expensive for the very small amount actually poured in the glass! Only looked to be half of a typical small 125ml measure in a English pub/restaurant! Buffet breakfast with served tea or coffee. Functional but not a massive selection. Scrambled egg of variable quality but for example no fried eggs. Good view from conservatory. Collapse

I booked this hotel as an alternative to an English Castle. Just 30 minutes from the shuttle and in a quiet town. From the beautiful driveway up to the hotel you were immersed into French style and quality. We paid a little more to gave a room in the main house although the cottages look beautiful too. Not a massive room but it didn't matter. Obviously reworked to make it into a hotel to have separate bathrooms and it was done well. We had dinner in the restaurant and at €37 for a 3 course set menu it was good value and wonderful. It was full so make sure you book before and early to make sure you have a table in the conservatory. Lovely atmosphere, great service and wonderful food. The grounds are lovely for a walk too. I would highly recommend this and I think Porsche would too as they had a customer drive day here when we were there. As an alternative to an English castle this was a much better idea and thus hotel / chateau dud not disappoint. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Loved it! Collapse

We stayed at Chateau Clery for one night, a variation of our journey between London and the south of France when we took a break almost immediately after having crossed the channel on our way south. It is within easy reach of Calais if a little bit poorly signposted in Hesdin-l'Abbe. We had opted for half board at 219 euros for two. We were given a king size bed in a pleasant room with a decent sitting area. The restaurant was in a rather nice conservatory area, at least our meal was in this area, a full restaurant expanded into the main hotel building. The food was good though not exceptional. We discovered that our half board formula only included the cheapest menu (34 euros) so we moved to a more attractive menu for a supplement of 15 euros each. The wine and water was 33 euros from a very reasonable wine list. We enjoyed our meal with one caveat: There was a minor soap family being photographed by two highly tattooed gits at the next table. not classy at all and highly offensive to the other diners. The breakfast, included in the half board formula, was very good. Would I go back, probably. Total cost with a minor bar bill (11 euros) was 301 euros. Collapse

Chateau Clery is an ideal hotel if you are on the way to or from the tunnel. It is very convenient and only about thirty minutes away. This is an attractive building in extensive grounds and it has been updated in a very sensitive way. Our room in the old stable block was excellent, beautifully decorated with a very good ensuite. We ate in the Chateau and the standard of our meal and the service was first rate. As to be expected the wine list was extensive and should satisfy both the expert and novice alike. We would thoroughly recommend Chateau Clery especially for an extra special weekend retreat. It is perfect for a relaxing and restful break. Collapse
