The front desk area was clean and the attendants were friendly and informative. We were in room 217 which is right next to the staircase, so if you are a light sleeper, pick away from there. The room was average, the bed was comfortable enough to sleep in. The bathroom was strange lay out as it had a small room where the coffee maker was on one side with the safe and then the sink on the other and there was the shower/tub and toilet in the next room conjoined to it. The toilet leaked whenever we took a shower and the light/fan combo in the bathroom made an awful noise when we turned it on. Check out was easy and there was a ticket under our door the morning of check out explaining any charges. We didn't have time to go to the pool or spa so I cannot comment on them. There is no breakfast included in the price, however there is a McDonalds, IHOP, Dunken Donuts, Denny's, etc. all on I-drive most within walking distance of the hotel. Collapse

Great location. The hotel is across the street from the convention center south and It’s a short walk to the convention center west. Fast food in walking distance ( mcDonalds, Denny’s , IHOP, Dunkin’ Donuts ) and if you rent a car there are other eats less than a mile away. Ample parking and there are security guards on the property patrolling. The hotel is basic and my safe didn’t work but it was inexpensive No major complaints. Collapse

Stayed here for 7 nights with my friend. The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom (and shower pressure) was decent. However we weren’t entirely impressed by our overall stay. These were the main things we weren’t too happy with: Our sink didn’t have hot water and leaked. House keeping continuously failed to restock our tea bags so we had to leave notes every other day to remind them. The wifi was really poor to the point where I had to sit in the hall way or bathroom just to get a decent signal. And lastly and probably most importantly the massive stuff up that was our transport booking back to the airport for our 7am flight. We spoke to a staff member about confirming our transport to the airport for the early morning and the lady who called up the transport said the transport was booked for 5:30am. We were not so sure this was the case after listening to her side of the phone call with the transport company. When we confirmed this with another staff member the next day, there was in fact no booking made. Luckily we had checked otherwise we could have missed our flight. Why on earth she told us it was booked when it obviously wasn’t I think the hotel should look into. Overall it wasn’t all bad and the shuttle buses to Universal and Disney were convenient and the drivers were really nice. Our airport transport stuff up just really frustrated us. However, thanks is due to the staff member who helped us sort it out in the end. Collapse

Was in Orlando a second time, one week after a previous business trip. On the first trip, I had luxurious accommodations at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Conference Center. This conference was at the Orange County Convention Center and a room was booked for me across the street at the Clarion Inn & Suites. I arrived late morning and was able to check in easily enough (a business partner had already checked into the room and left my name as an additional guest). I was provided a room key and walked to the diagonally opposite end of the very long building (really! the room was as far from the front desk as possible) with suitcase in tow, which took almost 5 minutes. The electronic key card would not open the door. I walked back to the front desk (with luggage in tow) and explained the problem. I was promptly provided with a new key. Back to the room and once again found that the key would not open the door. I walked back to the front desk and requested a 3rd key. This time the security guard who was watching (and probably assumed I was inept) accompanied me back to the room where, you guessed it, the 3rd key would not work. After nearly 30 minutes of trying to get into my room, the guard took pity on me and opened my door for me. I told him I would get another key at a later time and that I had to get to work. Fortunately, my co-worker had picked up a second key for me when he checked in and I was able to access the room independently. Was it the error of the front desk clerk? I didn't think so UNTIL we were checking out. I had requested a private car pickup for 4:45 AM for a ride to the airport. I was at the checkout desk at 4:45 AM and found 2 agents there. To cut to the chase, both agents were brand new. The lady who was helping me, though pleasant, did not know how to check a person out. She had to call the Clarion Reservations system help line and be coached through the checkout process. After about 15 minutes, she asked me for a credit card (although the room had been pre-paid), I handed her a MasterCard, not wanting to make this any more painful than it already was. She was trying to enter the payment on her screen and told the help desk person, "I don't see the proper card type listed in the payment options. It doesn't say CitiCard in the list of options." After being coached to turn the card over, and asked about what logo appeared on the reverse of the card, the agent figured out that she should have selected MasterCard from the list. It took over 30 minutes, at 4:45 AM to check out of this hotel. To top this off, neither agent knew how to print a copy of the hotel bill / receipt and I eventually had to leave without the document as I was now concerned about having sufficient time to check in at the airport for my early morning flight. ' The hotel is very convenient to the convention center but that is about the only nice thing I have to offer. Generally a tolerant person, this place was the worst. I highly recommend any of the other facilities in the area. I found the room tired, dingy and even a bit musty - one of those places you tend to keep your shoes on when in the room as it just doesnt feel clean. Maybe I was there at a bad time, but there are too many other options in the area and I will not return here again. There was no food service on the property but there are a couple dining options within walking distance. Collapse
