If you can manage to get a better rate than the offered rack-rate its a great little gem in the best spot of town. I managed :-) Full price is a ripoff. The hotel itself is very well kept, cosy and clean. The interior is quite nice. I had a very small room for me and my 5month baby. It worked out well and i loved the location on beautifull sto Annae square, just behind Nyhavn and Kongens Nytorg. Very elegant location. The staff is friendly however they seem to be trained in "no thats unfortunately not possible" NOT POSSIBLE I needed a small kettle for my baby food and it showed totally impossible to get any help with it.It was just not possible. I bought one at nearby Magasin department store for nothing, mentioned for the staff that at a place with their dignity they should have done it for me and charged me double the price. That would one call service to be answered "oh yeah that could be" When i asked for breakfast in my room, at first that was totally impossible until the guy at the desk in a surprise found out; "oh we do have" NO NO NO...NO extras at this place I'm afraid. I would though go for it again as i had a great stay apart from the, to say the least, very provincial service level. A disaster management should get into because on the bottom line it is a problem of poor management. Just thinking about the loss of turnover for all the extras. The friendliness of the staff was on the positive to "no thats not possible" Collapse
A great place to stay!

From when Kaspar checked us in until when he checked us out this morning there was nothing bad about our stay at this hotel. I'd e-mailed ahead asking if we could have a room with a view as we were belatedly celebrating my husband's 50th birthday. We got a prompt reply. We were given a double room in the annexe and it looked out over the street. The room was nicely furnished and there was plenty of space for us both. I like that there was a free in room safe - always a nice touch. The breakfast was fabulous - even for a picky eater like me. No actual bar in this hotel in the evening but staff do serve drinks from the reception area. Lovely staff, excellent location - what's not to like? Collapse

I see some enthusiastic reviews of Hotel Skt. Annae (pronounced like French année) on these pages. Don't have too high expectations. I have recently spent four nights there, and my view is that it is a perfectly decent and acceptable medium-class hotel, but it is nothing exceptional. It is located near a large square called Kongens Nytorv (which is mostly a construction site at the moment) and Nyhavn, a popular canal-side area with restaurants and bars, though the hotel itself stands on a quite street. There is a small grocery shop next to the hotel, which stays open till late and is a convenient place to get bottled water, drinks, sweets, etc. I stayed in a Superior Double room, which is of a fair size, though the chair at the desk was too low so that I had to use one of the pillows as a cushion. The bathroom was all right, with plenty of hot water, but, as an earlier reviewer mentioned, there are no free toiletries (guest soap, shampoo, toothpaste, a shower cap, etc.). There is only nondescript liquid soap in wall-mounted dispensers, which you would normally see at a budget hotel. The reception staff all speak fluent English (as do most Danes) and are generally helpful. The breakfast is good--there are plenty of fresh salad, which I particularly liked. (But the hotel should provide tongs, rather than just ordinary forks, for serving.) On the day I arrived, I took a taxi from Copenhagen airport to the hotel, which cost nearly 300 DKK. On the day I left, I used Metro, from Kongens Nytorv station (in front of McDonald's) to the airport. About 15 minutes' ride cost only 36 DKK. Copenhagen's Metro is new and clean, and there are lifts and escalators in the stations. If you come from the airport to Skt. Annae hotel, I recommend you use it. Collapse

This is an older hotel which has been very nicely remodeled. The rooms are small but very functional. European style shower with only a partial glass door so you have to watch where you point the hand held shower head or water gets onto the bathroom floor. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly with directions and restaurant recommendations. They all speak English. Our room came with the buffet breakfast which was amazing. Fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs- several types, sausage , crepes, luncheon meats, a variety of cheeses, excellent bakery breads you sliced yourself, fresh fruits ,salad greens ,tomatoes, several types of yogurt , granola, cereals, pastries etc. They had milk ,tea and a coffee machine where you could get espresso, cappuccino, late etc.I have never seen such a beautifully displayed and extensive breakfast buffet. You may not need lunch after eating here. The hotel is located in a very nice area with an embassy across the street, there is a small local market just down the street. It is in easy walking distance of Nyhavn , which is very picturesque and the Christiansborg Royal Palace. Close to many restaurants and you can walk to Tivoli Gardens about 20-30 mins. Note Tivoli gardens are closed for several weeks in mid October as they set up for Halloween. I would be happy to stay here again.Highly recommended. Collapse
