This was our second stay at a Citadines property (first one was in Paris) and I was more than happy I did. This particular property is within walking distance of London's major attractions -- Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, Westminster, the London Eye and more. The majority of bus and tube lines are a quick 5 minute walk. The staff is friendly and helpful. They even stored a piece of luggage for me while I took a few days to explore Scotland. The rooms are spacious and clean. I loved having a studio room with an equipped kitchen. You do have the option of daily maid service, but I opted out (one of the reasons I chose Citadines). If you are looking for a central London location close to restaurants, pubs and attractions and don't want to spend your time having to take transportation everywhere, then this place is where you want to stay. I can't wait to book with them again. Collapse

We stayed here for three nights as a family of four in a one-bedroom unit. The place is a typical Citadines--not fancy, but clean and well kept with a useful kitchenette in each of the rooms. The rooms were fairly small for what you pay, but this is central London so that's not out of the ordinary. It's an Apart'hotel, so the rooms are only serviced once a week unless you request more frequent service (and pay extra for it). I have stayed in many Citadines before, mainly in Paris, and am very familiar with this kind of hotel. Having a place to prepare meals is very useful, especially if you are traveling with children--it saves a lot of money. There are a couple of small grocery stores within a few minutes walk--a Tesco and an AP Foods. Tesco has a better and fresher selection, but the AP was ok in a pinch. There are larger stores within a 10 minute walk. The location was fabulous--on Northumberland street, right off Trafalger Square. The closest underground station is Embankment, which is handy to the Northern, Bakerloo, District, and Circle lines. It is a short walk to the Thames, and you are very close to the Jubilee Bridge--cross it to visit the London Eye and to catch various Thames river cruises/water buses. This was a more expensive Citadines, but the location can't be beat. I didn't eat breakfast here, so I can't speak to that, but there is a breakfast available for purchase. There is complimentary coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby. We were there during a big heat wave, with temperatures in the 90s (above 32 C), and we were very grateful that the air conditioning worked so well. We did have a problem with our refrigerator, which basically died while we were there, but a phone call to the front desk produced a maintenance person within 15 minutes and a replacement refrigerator 15 minutes after that--all on a Sunday morning. Office staff generally friendly and efficient. Really a very good stay. Collapse

Have stayed here quite a few times in the last few years, you cannot beat it for location, few mins walk to Embankment tube or Charing Cross,Trafalgar Square et c.I find it suits me to have an apartment away from home with a small kitchenette to make your own food whenever you want rather than having to go out to eat all the time,it's great when you are tired after sightseeing. There is a Tesco,Co-Op,Sainsburys and M&S food,Boots all within a few mins walk.Even a Next if you need extra or different clothes as I did this weekend when the temps soared !! Air con is a must for me and even though I had to get maintenance to look at it twice as it wasn't cooling this was done very promptly and they fixed it.There is no housekeeping every day but I much prefer it as if you're trying to have a lie in or mid day snooze you don't get disturbed. The shower bath area though I find you have to be VERY careful with as stepping in and out of the bath to shower can be hazardous as the bath seems quite high up.A walk in shower would be much safer but I suppose financially not possible to change all the rooms to that.I'd say anyone with the slightest mobility issues not to stay here. What really disappointed me this time around is that check in has changed to check in 3pm ( from 2pm ) and check out 11am ( from 12 ).You can leave your bags whilst your room is being prepared but not everyone wants to do that for various reasons and it really cuts your day short if you arrive morning time. Some rooms seemed to be ready before 3 as I did see people checking in before 3 but this seemed to be for lower floors not sure if they get lower floor rooms ready first, higher floors are better here as the streets around the building can be noisy, also rooms at the back are quieter.I could not be allocated my "usual" room this time around despite e-mailing my request a few weeks before and I did end up with a front facing room and the noise is noticeably louder on that side...I had to close the window to sleep but at least the air con made up for it,without it in temps of 30c this passing weekend it would have been unbearable/ very unpleasant. All in all its a great place to stay apart from the late check in and issues with bath height....and the free coffee/latte/tea machine in the lobby is great !!
