I lived in Miami Beach for 15 years and just moved away 2 years ago. Due to needing to return upwards of 8 times a year, I was exposed to a number of places before stumbling upon Circa39. I can not even begin to tell you how much nicer these visits became once I met Mario and his staff! The hotel itself is very quaint, clean, equipped with a lovely bar and restaurant that have all you would need to be very comfortable whether in Miami on business or for fun. However, it is the the people that work there that MAKE the hotel! From the first visit, they went out of their way to take care of my 5-year-old son and I. I now feel it’s a home away from home and so does he. Mario, Jose and Juan always make sure the reservation and room is in order. Fabiola does as well (and makes sure my son gets an ice cream more often than he needs). Alfredo and Renata provide wonderful service in the restaurant and bar. Jackson, Paolo and Douglas greet us daily and help with any bags or parking. Mercedes even takes time to sculpt swans out of towels to surprise my son daily after cleaning the room. He in turn draws her pictures and gives her whatever trinket he can find in his backpack to thank her. Mirna tends to the pool area and has come out to let him use toys that have been left behind. All of these heartfelt actions and attention to detail is something that as a resident of MB for 15 years stood out as extremely rare and impressive! Thank you to the Circa39 staff!! We appreciate all you do. See you in May. Collapse

I should say up front that our night at this hotel was paid for by another party, so we were not involved in booking and do not know the price, nor did we take advantage of any services offered for additional cost (such as breakfast). But the room was very cute and comfortable--we were in the back addition, which appears to be a converted apartment complex with outdoor walkways and tile flooring in the rooms. The outdoor area is decorated with plants and lovely night lighting and we found it great for a beach stay. We got to our room late in the evening and took a morning walk on the beach, which is just across the street and is also lovely. We ended up having to wait at the hotel past checkout time, so while we had to leave our room, the staff was extremely welcoming and encouraged us to stay at the pool and make use of the facilities. We sat in a great little cabana area and enjoyed the pool thoroughly. Paolo was particularly helpful: he rescued us when we realized we left something in our room after checkout and were already locked out, brought us some spare plastic laundry bags for our wet bathing suits after our time at the pool, and was just so friendly that we forgot to feel embarrassed that we kept making mistakes with our keys and our timing! Our only suggestion would be that the hotel do more to insulate the doors between adjoining rooms. We could hear every sound in the room next to ours and were worried our neighbors would wake us up when they returned from their night out...and then we were mortified to realize (when one of them coughed) that they weren't out at all--they'd gone to sleep, and WE were the ones probably keeping THEM up with our talking! Apart from that, it was a great stay in a nice little area of Miami Beach. Collapse

We booked two nights at Circa 39 at the last minute and got a really good rate for the time of year. We assumed the rate was down to the last minute nature of the booking but we soon realised there was a catch. This hotel has a lot going for it. It is beautifully decorated throughout, the staff are well trained and helpful, the restaurant is good, there is a convenient chargeable car park and a lovely pool area. We were extremely pleased with our room, which was on the front of the property. We had a great evening the first night, after a couple of drinks in the lovely bar we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant and then a really good nights sleep. The problems occurred on the second night. We had noticed some construction work out on the road in front of the hotel but it only seemed to be going on in the day. However on the second evening when we arrived back to our room at around 11.30pm to our horror some really bright lights suddenly lit up the street outside, the light was so bright it came through the shutters into the room and then the noise started and it was deafening, we’re talking, metal sheets being dropped from height, drilling and vehicle reversing warning noises. It went on like this until around 1.30am when it quietened off a little, but we had virtually no sleep quality. Fortunately we had our noise reduction headphones from the flight in our bag so we were able to block some of the noise. There was also an awful lot of noise from the room above, I cannot believe a guest could make that amount of noise, we could hear every step, it sounded like they would come through the ceiling. I think there must have been some repairs being undertaken in there. My husband finally got up in the middle of the night and asked to be moved, but he was told they had no other room available. We complained again at reception the following morning and they allowed us to keep the room on for an hour and a half extra, but despite having the ‘Do not disturb’ sign on the door we were disturbed by housekeeping twice, so we got no further sleep, not great when you are checking out to go to the airport for a long haul flight. Obviously the hotel have no control over roadworks or construction, but it would have been nice to be warned. The other thing to be aware of is that there are not a lot of restaurants around the hotel, so you need to be prepared to either walk a fair distance or Uber. The cafe next door, however is really good for breakfast, very busy though so it can take a while to get served. I would recommend this hotel, but do be aware at the moment that there is an issue with construction noise, especially if you are on the front of the property. Collapse

We stayed there for a week and it was one of our favorites places. Very clean rooms, friendly staff, good restaurant and perfect location. They provides towels and chairs to their private beach, the interior garden is wonderful and parking is very close. There was some noisy construction site nearby and the staff was kind enough to change our room with a quiet one. I’m happy that I found that gem and definitely will be back. Collapse
