Great hotel and well worth paying the extra for a superior sea view room. If you book this type of room ask for a room at the end of the corridor as you get a really big balcony that goes around the side as well!

Hotel is in a very good location, overlooking the beach as long as you book a sea view room. Rooms are reasonable size, beds very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Not so good is the restaurant experience in the evenings - very limited choice especially if you are a vegetarian. Breakfast buffet is good but a couple of the restaurant staff were unpleasant - I don't think it's too much to ask for clean cups. Woukd probably return but go for bed and breakfast option. Collapse

We really enjoyed our recent stay at Hotel Cimbel. We stayed for 5 nights at the end of October - we were blessed with the weather so perhaps our review literally felt more sunny than others! We had upgraded to a corner front sea view room - and by the sound of it this was a good choice. The room was very large, the bathroom a good size with a huge wetroom style shower. Aircon worked well, and there was a nice large balcony. Foodwise, breakfast was really good with lots of selection hot/cold/breads/cakes. Evening meal - was quite seafood based - a bonus for some/not so for others. Initially, I found the process of ordering a bit confusing as there were gala nights and others where you ordered part menu and/or could use buffet. However, it is noted on the dining room door each day - and a glance at this cleared it up. On our arrival at the hotel - at around 11pm, the reception staff were outstanding. I had managed to misplace my hotel voucher, which they needed a copy of. I was able to log into the relevant travel company website to show the voucher, but couldn't email it for them to print. They went out of their way to be completed solution focussed and identified a way of photographing the screen and photocopying it - all to save me hassle the following day. Then our safe wouldn't work and they were up to resolve the issue in 10 mins. The bar staff were great. Breakfast and dinner staff were definitely polite - if not overly friendly. I agree that you do have to wait a while for the lifts - we were on floor 4 so could manage ok, but must be hard if on a higher floor waiting everytime. All in all, a really good hotel for the price we paid. We're coming back next year with friends. Collapse

My parents have stayed here 5 or 6 times now when visiting Benidorm with us and really love it. The location is perfect for them as they can't walk very far - they are right on the promenade and it's and easy walk to the beach. The sea directly in front of the hotel has low rocks (fine for most people) but they just walk a little farther down (towards the town) and there is sand all the way in. Pool is easy to get into also. Loads of chairs stacked round the pool (for the evening entertainment) and they find it easier to sit on these during the day than get up form a lounger. Loads of loungers also. They also love the dancing at night by the pool, and watching the people walk the promenade. Not many rowdy hen do's in that area or loud bars so good area for older people. They always book a sea view and the rooms are a good size. Corner rooms are excellent. Showers are over the bath but the bath is very low and easy to step into so not a problem. Lunch by the pool is not too expensive and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. Yes the lifts are slow but who is in a hurry on holiday. Collapse

What an Awful time at this hotel we had. I wish people would stop expecting Bad quality..this is only a 3* Hotel.. After reading other reviews I must say I'm not sure what people's perception of a good hotel actually isl! We're easy going but this just isn't acceptable. Well ours certainly wasn't that! The room was a city view after asking for a sea view also we needed a twin room as my husband needs his own bed due to medical reasons. Which we didn't get and booked !!they put us in a double which was a tiny room my bathrooms bigger than this room!! We had no space for our cases we had to put them on the floor and fall over them where the staff don't seem to care.. After paying £1900 for this holiday we didn't want to pay any more money to move to a 3 bedroom room which they didn't have anyway as hotel was full!! The bed was not comfortable. The food was bland and boring repeatedly the same Also the times are late for Dinner 8pm to 10.30pm Only good thing about it was the salad bar. Omg some of the staff don't know how to smile.. Always had to Que and wait a while for the lifts. They want money for everything even to change beach towels & if you want a Teasmade for the room you pay for daily! The sun beds were disgraceful you would think the hotel trying to up there status would offer a cushion for the beds just terrible plastic crap..we don't live like this at home so why pay money for lower quality..it's the same cheap crap beds that's on the beach and everyone knows what they do to your back/posture especially not comfortable with a medical condition. Disgraceful!! It costs €18 for 2 toasties(very little filling)and 2 soft drinks! The drinks are 2 different prices if you sit outside more expensive or inside cheaper!, we've never came across this before. The staff are not too friendly, I don't write many reviews but I feel I had to on this occasion. No music in dining room just like a canteen.. The entertainment for about an hour which is dated..age group here is 60+ Certainly NOT for children. A lot of Spanish holiday here!!! We don't live like this at home and we were very disappointed and won't be back I'm afraid I'm finished and fed up with the hotels bumping up the sales pitch on there websites. Especially when it's not a true reflection. Oh and if you want to reply manager who hides away and won't see his customers.. Reply in English please you all speak it so please have some respect&manners for your customers! Collapse
