This is a hotel that is sufficient for a short stay in London. The rooms are small as expected in budget hotels in London but the most difficult part was during our stay London was surprisingly warm and the rooms became very stuffy. Our family was given two rooms, one on the first and the other on the third floor overlooking Norfolk gardens. The one on the first floor given to us was by the managers statement, the largest in the house and was decently spaced for two people, though all rooms have only single beds and no double beds. The room on d first floor had French windows which could be opened and so the ventilation was better. The room on the third could only have one fourth of the huge window opened and got very stuffy. We were provided fans but only on day 2 as they did not have enough on day 1 to go around all the rooms. This is a problem because the rooms being so small can get very suffocating. The hotel therefore must ensure that they are able to provide fans to all d rooms that require it at times of need, without exception. Otherwise the rooms were neat and the cleaning everyday was always impeccable. The bathrooms had a new clean look. In fact I would actually give a 4/5 for the bathrooms despite being a very average hotel on the whole. Breakfast gives you two options - English and continental. It is not a buffet. You are served a portion on a plate and it is not clear if u can ask for more - it doesn't seem that way. So for people who start their day with a good wholesome breakfast, this is not d best option for a starter meal! I would suggest the hotel improves on d breakfast options. D reception staff are average at best in the way they handle guests and you don't feel too inclined to take their help on matters. The strength of this hotel is it's location. It's in the heart of Paddington, with a lot of options for food and some shopping. So if all you are looking for is a place to crash, this is a decently priced hotel I would recommend with a warning that it gets stuffy on hot days without a fan. But if you are looking for a hotel that is comfortable and spacious and an enriching experience this is not your cup of tea. For my next trip to London, I'd definitely give this hotel a miss. I booked this hotel last minute after having a problem with the original hotel that I booked (which clearly was not a hotel!!!) I checked in five minutes after booking online (the length of the walk from the prev. Hotel to this one). The room had a comfortable double bed and an en-suite shower room. There was a desk with tea and coffee making facilities. The room was very very stuffy with no air - conditioning. However, with the window open, it soon cooled down to a more comfortable temperature. Breakfast was included and although it was cold, it was tasty. However I was not made aware of any options for breakfast other than a full English which consisted of one egg, one piece of bacon, one sausage and some beans. There was good coffee though and I could see some cereals on offer at the end of the room. Everything was fine with the hotel. It was very conveniently located, just a two minute walk from Paddington station. It is excellent value for money. I will definitely stay here again. Collapse

This is a cheap hotel, but we were charged by 135Ponds per night because we booked at Hotels.com and the rate we browsed was 70ponds per night , but it end up shows 135Ponds per night on order confirmation printout at Hotels.com. We did not check carefully when we print out the order confirmation and when we argued to front desk when we checked in, they gave us a lot of reasons why the rate was 135Ponds and they even refuse to cancel for the 2nd night that was written for free cancellation. They asked us to argue with Hotels.com and we did but hotels.com said we should check the order confirmation by ourselves and we explained to them that should be your system problem and we trusted your system now we got suffer and ask Hotels.com to argue with the hotel about the rate, Hotels.com simply said they are not allowed to do it. So we suffered to pay for the high rate at low season in a cheap hotel and it turns out this hotel run by Greek people , perhaps a family and they said the same thing over and over again that they charge what order confirmation said because hotels.com will charge them 15% commission. No matter how many times we explain that the rate we saw when we booked was only 70Ponds per night, they just don't care. THe next morning, we mentioned this to another man in front desk, he finally told us that this is not the first argument, there were some cases before when people booked at Expedia or Hotels.com and did not check carefully on order confirmation and they just charge the amount, obviously that's the culture of this hotel which is cheap and low quality hotel and they found the sneaky way to charge higher rate and they don't care if the customers will be back. We went complain about Hotels.com system and the service people seem to blame on us did not check the order confirmation carefully , so we should be the one to suck the loss. We will never use Hotels.com nor Expedia again and if anyone is using those website just be careful there is such mistake on their system and they don't care!! and this tricky hotel seem to have good cooperation with Hotels.com or Expedia in this way!! We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel, situated in a leafy square not far from Hyde Park and close to numerous eating places. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Our room wasn't large but was clean and comfortable and the en-suite was modern (recently refurbished?) The breakfast was perfectly acceptable, not a great choice but what was offered was nice and well-cooked. The hotel was incredibly quiet both inside and out. I was amazed to go down for breakfast to find the room full of guests as I had thought that the place must be nearly empty as there had been so little noise. Location was ideal, close to the places we wanted to be. Would recommend and would use again as absolutely fine and reasonably priced. Collapse
