I'm recently back from the Choromar apartments a few days ago. I stayed here with 5 friends ages ranging from 18-22. Before going here, I read a lot of reviews to get to grips with where I was staying and what to expect. Straight off the bat, here's what I can say about the hotel before delving more into these: - Wifi is only in the restaurant and it's terrible - Some staff and reception people are quite rude - They are very strict with noise (even if it's not even loud) - The food is OK - The 6 person room is nice - Cleaners 2 times a week - Taxis are hard to get - Far from old and new town - Mini mart prices quite dear - Check in 3, check out 11 - No computers (for boarding passes) - Pool is nice - Pay for amenities, like iron, sauna, gym, etc. - NO AIR CON OK so there's the quick facts. For more information, the most annoying thing about the choromar is how on the first night we got a noise complaint and threatened to be kicked out. I found this quite frustrating seeing as we were at a normal talking volume when issued this threat, and so we had to whisper for the rest of the stay out of paranoia. This was confusing to me as most of the reviews on this site "claimed" that this is a "fun, exciting, loud" hotel that families should avoid. Exactly the opposite, young groups should avoid here and families should come. It's really annoying having to whisper when trying to enjoy a drink on the balcony. Overall I think it was a mediocre stay. I'd reccomend staying somewhere closer to all the attractions like Old/New Town. And as I said, avoid if you want to listen to music and chat at night. We've just returned from a 10 night holiday at the choromar apartments. Myself and my 3 teenaged daughters. We had a brilliant holiday. Our budget allows us to holiday in this price range so we always know it can be hit and miss - and whatever we get - we look at the positives. Although the negatives can still be annoying. There are lots of positives here. The pools are great. You never have to worry about getting a sun bed. They're very plentiful. The reception staff were so helpful dealing with my concerns and booking a taxi and for any info. Also booked excursions there very easily. The bar, food, drinks and staff are all lovely. The location is ok. A fair walk to the strip, the super market and beach but do-able and quite pleasant (although some of the streets are slightly rough around the edges). We had a lovely room - spacious, modern and clean on arrival. Loved it. The negatives - the worst cleaning I've ever experienced - the maids would make 2 beds, leave two, our bedding wasn't changed in 10 days - the maids would take dirty towels but not replenish - I had to go to reception and the stage we were left with one bath towel between 4. They didn't empty the bathroom bin of sweep the floor. At all. We were given the information booklet about the hotel on the last day. So, this area needs lots of improvement. Our maid must have been half asleep. Our other negative is - that a lot of residents actually live in the apartments. In our block - almost half. This in itself isn't an issue but some own dogs and it's not pleasant (as a family of dog lovers) when you're trying to relax at the pool and you can hear the almost constant crying, whining and barking of a dog, left on the balcony of a second floor room all day. We didn't like that. I did go to enquire at reception and the lovely receptionist said they'd had other complaints and would note mine. The dig still barked. so, even though this sounds like a grump - it's just the truth - and despite those negatives we still had an amazing time. Collapse
Please ignore the negatives

This is my 2nd time staying at these apts. I booked a superior both times which are situated in the main block. On this occasion we were a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids 7 and 10 plus my elderly parents in a separate apt. The location is a bit far out with no bars or restaurants on its doorstep but easily solved with a taxi which can be booked through reception. Approx €4 to the strip and €7 to the old town. By foot approx 15 mins to strip and 45 to old town. If wanting to go to the old town during the day a courtesy bus runs from the main door at 11am, 3pm and 5pm apart from wed and Sun. I do recommend you be there 10 mins early as it only seats 8. The ladies on reception are lovely and always helpful from booking taxis, giving info, getting you more loo roll. A special mention to Graco who is lovely. We arrived at 11am and unfortunately couldn't get our room to 2pm but no hassle as lockers are provided for your cases and you can get a key for the shower room to change which is located at the pool. Safe hire for 2 weeks was €25 plus €15 deposit which was returned, we also asked for the tv remote which is usually €10 deposit but they just included it with our safe. The bar is reasonably priced open from 9am to 2am with entertainment nightly. The food was really good and again spot on price wise and I'm a picky eater. Everything from full English, burgers, pasta, pizza and a bbq. The pool area is a decent size and opens at 9am. It is thoroughly cleaned every morning prior to opening. There is also a Turkish bath, sauna, Jacuzzi, gym and games room. The upper terrace area is perfect to catch the sun with a kids playground and gym equipment you'd find in your local park to use. I really recommend booking the superior rooms as they are finished to an excellent modern standard. They were spotless. The wardrobe has lots of hangers, extra pillows and blankets and the safe. There is lots of storage. The tv has sky news, CNN, pick, bbc1, bbc2, itv and c4. The kitchen has a double sink, hob, kettle, microwave, kettle and toaster and the fridge has a small freezer. It also is fully equipped cutlery and crockery wise. There is a washing line on the balcony. The apt is cleaned every other day and towels are replaced then which is no hassle we dried them on the line in between. Bed clothes are changed once a week. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We did have very noisy drunken young people a couple of nights but there is zero tolerance on this and it was knocked on the head sharpish. If you have any other questions I'm happy to answer them. Looking forward to my next stay here xx Collapse

Myself and my husband are currently lying at the poolside at the choromar apartments ⛱⛱ On holiday with us are my 3 sons - aged 22; 18 and 12. We are in block 3 apartments which are very spacious and decorated to a high standard I had made a mistake with the dates and the hotel were extremely accommodating and put us in a one bedroom apartment for the first night. The food at the poolside was tasty enough and reasonably priced. Taxis home from the Strip roughly 4 Euros and old town 8 Euros. Nearest pubs were Erins Isle or the Dubliner, roughly 10 mins walk. Excellent location for families particularly ones with older children Entertainment at the bar at night time was good as well. Collapse

Only on our 2nd night here but I have to admit that I took previous reviews into consideration so wasn't expecting the best. I have been surprised as it's clean, friendly and full of giggles. Food is reasonable and nice and the drinks are not much more expensive than elsewhere. We have 2 children and both days they have been playing in the pool with all the other children (and overgrown children alike). I would definitely stay again and I would definitely recrecommend Collapse
