Stayed here for one night whilst away with work. All areas were clean and tidy in the main areas of the hotel and there is a lovely central courtyard separating the rooms from the main building. I did find it slightly odd that the rooms all came off the central courtyard and was a little concerned that my bedroom door was external to the hotel however the room was very clean and had everything I needed. The bed was very comfy and after making sure the door was locked and placing a chair behind I had a good nights sleep until around 7 am when there was quite a lot of noise from outside. The bathroom had both a shower and bath however the pressure from the shower made it very difficult to use and I opted for a bath instead. Myself and colleagues had evening meals which were tasty and a couple of drinks from the bar which was reasonably priced. We arrived for breakfast at around quarter to nine so probably later than some of the other guests which meant that there was a limited choice on the hot buffet full English - no sausages and the eggs were very overdone in the Bain marie and the toast was cold however there were other cold options available if we were still hungry. In summary I wouldn’t rule staying here again out completely but wouldn’t opt for the breakfast. Staff were friendly and the rooms whilst could do with updating were clean, warm and provided a good nights sleep. Collapse

Attended this years New Years party and it was very poor affair. Firstly this is the 3rd visit in the past 3 years and last year was just bareable but this year was like a badly organised wedding. On arriving you have no idea where you are going, we stumbled through the side door and was served Fizzy wine from behind the cloak room area. Then we went into the meeting area and didn’t know where we was sitting in the 10-15 tables that were set up as wedding tables. No poppers or hats on anything on the tables, the meal started and to be honest the food was superb, but the venue was lifeless and cold. People were putting there coats ON, after our table complained the manager put 50p in the meter and the heating came back on. Moving on after the meal we noticed that there was no DJ but a 4 piece band who songbooks dated back when my mum was a little girl. They song songs that my Nan would have loved. The best thing was when they had a break and the house speakers came on, we then complained that we had no poppers or anything and low and behold last years stock came out. Now it was supposed to be a New Years celebration and we like hearing Big Ben like any decent function and toast with a glass of fizz, but that wasn’t shared out ( I was later informed by the general manager we should have bought a bottle !,,, why was we not informed as last year it was served out FOC. going back to MIDNIGHT the only people enjoying themselves was the staff as they all had a glass to toast in the NY. The band babbled that it was 12 o’clock and struggled to do old lans.. I would say that it was very poor and badly organised. Collapse

The hotel needs a complete refurbishment, based on the three different rooms we had over the last 3 years. As usual, the heated towel rail in the very small bathroom did not heat up, despite (apparently) been on a timer. The water in the toilet cistern refills too slowly. The furniture is old and looks "knocked about". We had a twin room consisting of a small double and a single bed. The small double had a comfortable mattress whereas the mattress of the single bed was too hard and inadequate ( one could tell that it wasnt a good quality mattress). The water flow in the shower could have been stronger - it was not a power shower. The breakfast was ok but could be improved by offering a variety of breads instead of sweet croissants and muffins. Fruit at breakfast consisted of a few water melon slices only - more variety would be welcome. The staff were friendly + helpful. Whoever owns this hotel needs to think seriously about investing in it by updating the rooms and the bathrooms!!!!! Collapse

Booked for Xmas party after being told the only veggie option (cauliflower medley) could be swopped for the vegan option, which was stuffed peppers. On arrival, staff informed me that vegan option was not now available. I pointed out that I did not like cauliflower, so was told the kitchen could make up a chickpea curry. I was happy with this, but on arrival it looked like the chickpeas had come from a tin with some curry sauce thrown in. Not satisfactory. My advice to Chichester management would be if you choose to take Christmas bookings, please make sure you can honour the menu choice. If you can't, make sure there's a reasonable choice of replacement meals and they are of the appropriate quality for an expensive night out. I will not be returning. Collapse
