To be honest from the moment we arrived it was bad, the booking agent had not notified the hotel of our booking therefore we were arrived and given a standard room. We were really upset as it was not with a view to see the animals as our daughter was promised. Then it just got worse we couldn't book a restaurant to eat therefore the hotel after some hours gave us an option to order food and we could pick it up. By half 8 at night our daughter was beside herself as she was hungry and overtired. We finally got dinner and fell into bed exhausted from trying to book in and get something to eat. To be fair this may not have been such an ordeal had the booking have been made properly by the booking company. It was expensive stay for what it was! I would not do it again and would choose to stay outside of the resort in future. Collapse

I haven't even stayed there yet and I am fed up with them. I rang a week before my stay to try and book my swimming pool slot but was told to wait for an email which would contain a link to book through, The day they said the email was due came and went so I rang again and was told it would arrive the next day, again no email so I rang again and this time I was told it would not arrive until 48 hours before my stay. It is now less then that time and still no email, not even in my spam folder - why does no-one seem to know what the process is? I hope I am not missing any vital information about my stay! Collapse

We took our three young children to chessington for the first time in May and had a great time in the park. Staff were very helpful when our tickets wouldn't scan and this issue was sorted out very quick. Food was a little expensive in the park but it was expected and we only took a few bits with us from home. Lots of rides for little ones, our youngest is 3 yet was tall enough for the safari ride and even the some of the bigger rides which he enjoyed. As for the hotel I'm not as positive. The room was standard, bed was hard as we're the pillows. The swimming pool had to booked and then you are charged even though you have paid for the hotel which is disappointing. The pool is cold, the kids pool is cold so we didn't stay long. Later that evening we ate dinner in the Bar and grill at the safari hotel. The view was beautiful watching the animals, however service was a little slow even though it was near empty and our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering, which we sent back as it was cold! They took it back to the kitchen area yet it came bk to the table 5 minutes later warm! As we paid £18.00 each for this dinner which we then picked at due to it being warm meat we wasn't happy and decided to skip desert. Going back to the hotel the people above us banged around and stomped through the room up until midnight, mand in the early hours of the morning my children woke up to kids running down the corridors. Unfortunately the Aztec hotel doesn't have a check in desk so staff were not around to hear this. Overall it wasn't brilliant, the decor downstairs is lovely and I'm sure if you pay more the rooms are better quality. If you just want a bed next to the park without using the pool or resturants then this is perfect. Would we go again...yes to the park but not sure on the hotel unless we had a better room and ate elsewhere. Collapse

Staying at the Azteca Hotel was fantastic, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. My little one had a great time at the park and viewing the animals and sea life, the breakfast was lovely, the 2 reasons why I gave 4 stars were first, the water in the splash pool and in the swimming pool was very cold. After playing in the splash pool My son was very cold so we decided to give him a little soak in the jacuzzi where the water is warm and then we get told off that he's not allowed there. So we had no choice but to take him out of the jacuzzi. The water should be warm considering it's meant for children. Then second was when we ordered a takeaway from Smokehouse, the guy in the counter who served us was very rude, he didn't bother to place the takeaway food in a bag, he also gave me the macaroni cheese without lid, I asked if there's any sauces to go with the brisket, ribs and pulled pork, he just told the sauces are on the table and he just simply turned his back on me and walked away whilst I was still talking he didn't even bother to give me plastic containers to put the sauce, I had to look for another person to give me containers to put the sauces and a bag to put the food I bought. Booked through work... fantastically themed room.... woke up to the sound of monkeys outside my window. The room was very hotel but the air conditioning worked well. The bed was a little hard and the pillows all awful so not a great night sleep but a lovely experience to sleep so close to the monkey enclosure. The bar we used had a decked area overlooking deer and other animals... lovely views. Breakfast was good. It's buffet which has a good selection. There were no fried eggs but when I asked about them... the chef went off to make some. Everything is themed... so would be great for kids (and I loved it too) Collapse

Received a lovely countdown email reminding us that our adventure was not far away and giving us some options of adding extras to the booking. We wanted to book the go ape and fast track and also wanted to make a reservation for dinner and book a swimming slot. Rang the main line for chessington and spoke to a helpful gentleman who said he could book the restaurant but to book swimming we would need to speak to the hotel directly and so transferred the call. This is where it got interesting, put on hold (or just ringing out) for 5 mins to be told by reception they can't help and I would need to speak to the restaurant and swimming pool seperately. I was then told that it is not possible book swimming in advance unless I had booked a themed room (on the phone in between meetings I had no idea what room I had booked), the girl also miscalculated the time of arrival. Restaurant never answered (I don't believe I was even transferred). So, no further forward in booking my extras and quite annoyed about time I have wasted. It's strange to me that these petty rules would be added when all I am trying to do is give you more money. We are returning customers who experienced a great level of service previously, let's hope it improves upon arrival. Collapse
