Dire dire dire Advertised as behind the scenes zookeeper experience weekend. Sat one hour thirty...15 or 20 slides of animal poo clips on a projector screen to guess the animal. Then 40 mins of colour in 3 used carboard boxes on the dance floor is not a zoo keeper experience. Only fit for 3 to 7 year olds at a push. NOT AS PER ADVERTISING ON WEBSITE. Our 9, 13 and 16 year olds were bored within minutes. Complete dribble you would find at a poor kids party. Complete time filling dire trash. 30 mins to get a drink at the bar....not with a cue but with a 18 year old who had no idea what to do. Then the main hotel bar.....another 20 year old and a lad on his first night being a Saturday! !!!! Highlight.....shaking two bottles of peroni before opening and then the other guy saying don't worry you prob know 3 times what most staff here know. Worse bar service between two bars I've ever seen. Went to restaurant. ..... Highlight on dire menu...same salad as start or main course!!!! WTF. We went 1000 yards up road to beefeater. Compete farse. AVOID. Collapse
Nice - but could be so much more...

The hotel itself is kept in fairly good condition with decent facilities, and is well themed throughout. We visited (family of 4) over new years and they had kids programs, seasonal decorations etc, and overall we had a great time. However, the hotel was majorly let down by unhelpful and unknowledgable staff, lack of staff, and general poor management. I'm generally not too bothered about these things but on this occasion it really stood out, and bugged me because it's just such a sloppy way of irritating your customers. To illustrate: On check-in, we were given ZERO information about anything: - No information about pool booking requirements. You need to book swimming slots in advance which kind of makes sense given the number of guests vs pool size, but have the decency to clearly point this out at check-in. - No information about season hotel programs - No information about breakfast times - No information about car parking. On leaving the hotel we got stuck at the barrier and had to go back to reception. Again, not a massive deal but just train your staff properly. In general we found ourselves wondering around the hotel trying to figure out everything for ourselves as most of the staff we asked were clueless. For example, on the first day - I asked about buying zoo tickets for the following day, and they sent me on a trek to the main park entrance where I was then informed that these could only be purchased online or on the day of visiting. Also on the first day, we decided to have a drink at the bar before supper. To say, the service was poor is a understatement. They had one person at the bar trying to serve a room full of people. The kind lady serving was so apologetic about the poor service and lack of staff that she gave us that she didn't charge us for three out of four drinks. I guess this review is more of message to management than prospective visitors, as I'd still recommend the hotel overall. I just feel that these kind of things could so easily be rectified. Collapse

Make sure you read this . I will try to be as impartial and helpful to the management team as much as I can, but the treatment in this hotel can be made first page local newspaper. I seriously have gathered enough evidence to send to the CEO to do something about the mess this place is on, it's not difficult and can be done . Seriously . Entertainment, schedule and head count. I think they are charging too low and getting more heads than possible and this makes it a disaster . People here say they pay a lot of money. It's not a lot of money if the hotel wants mass of people in order to profit . Quality comes with a price tag and less people is needed for a smooth stay and entertainment. Or more room. More professional interesting entertainment is needed. DIRECTIONS IS needed , sign post, announcement. Finally professionals. The management need a hospitality training and perhaps work in a responsible children resort to learn events organisation skills. What is needed Count people- count tables and space available - charge more but have less people because you need to calculate space and activity available; also schedule available; Hire professionals Interesting mascots around the place to make children smile Smiling staff Happy people around Save the staff with further training from highly professional experienced staff and will be fine. What a disaster we had at the New Year's Eve. I can honestly state that we were treated as animals!!! I felt inside a horror movie. Children in the gambling room, ripping us off. They had no entertainment we were forced to spend in their disgusting gambling machines. Here are some of the highlights and comments I have that will help you to go against booking with them. 1- check the room - my son loved it but is a premier inn with decor 2- food appalling 3- prosecco overcharged £7.50 a bottle in Tesco 4- no entertainment throughout the hotel. We only saw a disgraceful hot room with unhappy people 5- poor entertainments every time we went there , they were on a break 6- felt inside a horror film 7- blackout for 30min - in all honesty this was the best part of my stay, the lights off was the most fun part of my stay ! I have nothing else to say. This place needs a whole year of reform in order to run smoothly . They have a lot to improve , this can't be taken lightly . They have too many flaws which is not worth the money. I felt robbed and deceived and being sold a fake dream all throughout ! Collapse

Where do I start! We booked to stay for New Year's Eve, me my wife and 2 young boys 5 and 3 years old. In total we paid £495 for the package, turns out that that was just for the room and breakfast! We were asked what sitting we wanted for dinner by email a week before we arrived, never told us we had to pay for dinner, when booking it clearly says dinner is part of the package as well as entry to the park, turns out we weren't entitled to go in park either! The standard of service at the bar was the worst I've ever seen, we thought we would have a drink before we got ready for dinner, the bar wasn't that busy but it took 25 minutes to get served and the drinks were completely flat, the larger was completely flat and I had to send it back. Went to room to get ready, the room was nice but I suppose for £495 it should be Went to temple restaurant for buffet dinner, same standards at the bar and again I had to return the drinks as so flat. The food was shocking, cold and tasteless We said that at least we had the kids disco and entertainment to look forward to, omg! The big entertainment was in one of the hotels conference rooms, loads of big round tables and small area for kids to dance, it was 6.30pm and you could not get a seat or get to the bar, it was shocking! Loads of family's walking in and you could see the disappointment on their faces, can't imagine what it was like once everyone had finished their dinner and came looking for some grand new year eve entertainment. All that was left to do was go back to one of the terribly served bars! Not with 2 young boys, we spoke to s manager on reception and he refunded our money and we headed off home. We noticed quiet a few other family's doing the same thing, spoke to couple family's who just couldn't believe how badly organised it all was. One world to sum it up! Disgusting Collapse
