To be honest from the moment we arrived it was bad, the booking agent had not notified the hotel of our booking therefore we were arrived and given a standard room. We were really upset as it was not with a view to see the animals as our daughter was promised. Then it just got worse we couldn't book a restaurant to eat therefore the hotel after some hours gave us an option to order food and we could pick it up. By half 8 at night our daughter was beside herself as she was hungry and overtired. We finally got dinner and fell into bed exhausted from trying to book in and get something to eat. To be fair this may not have been such an ordeal had the booking have been made properly by the booking company. It was expensive stay for what it was! I would not do it again and would choose to stay outside of the resort in future. Collapse

We have just come back from a stay at the chessington Aztec hotel, we stayed for Father's Day on the 18th and 19th June. We took our two children and niece, it was her first ever visit to chessington. Unfortunately we had a few issues and ended up so disappointed. The Check in to the hotel was ridiculously slow, we went in at 10:30 to pre check in and the queue was huge so we came back at 1:30,We spoke straight to the receptionist But still check in took about 15minutes. Luckily our room was all ready for us. The Rooms are lovely, we stayed in monkey temple summit room. Had a lovely view of the animals. Room decor was brilliant. Air conditioning was amazing as the temperature was 32 when we were there. It's brilliant that you can have 3 children in the rooms too. We pre ordered a digipass online, Photo passes are a mission to get. We walked around being sent here to there for the first hour in the park. Wasting an hour with three excited kids isn't the best way to start the weekend. Ended up having a good day in the park. All chilled and ready for bed, beds are comfy, kids were happy! Then the noise started! We Had to call reception at 11pm to complain about people continued slamming doors, they said they would send someone, but the door slamming continued until at least 130! Then started the constant jumping and banging from the people above us at 530am! I understand kids will jump about ect but at 530 it's not hard to tell your kids to stop, put the tv on and get them to watch it! The breakfast was awful, I've never been to a hotel that offers breakfast and has no food! We got to breakfast about 8:30, there was hardly any cooked food on the counters, no chefs to be seen! When we sent a staff member to ask where the food was he was screamed at from the kitchen! Eventually the chef made an appearance and pulled out hot cooked food from under the counter! So why couldn't he have done this within the 15 minutes we had been waiting at an empty counter? All the hot food is fried, considering this is a family resort I would assume it would not be fried food! The poor staff were run off there feet! The Swimming pool was completely booked even though when we went to the leisure hub to book a session and there were only 5 people in the pool. Meaning we had to book to swim for the next day, resulting in not being able to use the early hours in the park. The safari (kids bit) pool doesn't open until 1230, so we couldn't use that either. Fab hotel shame about the breakfast 😬

On arrival we were greeted by very attentive staff and were checked in within no time, luggage stored and off for a day in the park. On return we collected our key cards and was pleasantly surprised that our luggage was already in our room. The room was amazing, spotless and nicely decorated for the children, a bunk bed for the kids with a trundle bed for our youngest, a huge double for us and a beautiful view of the birds and animals. The kids enjoyed this very much looking for the Zebra's etc. We enjoyed a very enjoyable evening out for dinner then back to the hotel for bed as we were throughly exhausted. We decided to wake up early to make use of the extra hour in the park. Making our way to the restaurant for breakfast we noticed families bring turned away, which worried us. Surprisingly we were seated right away? Over the course of breakfast we noticed people were being turned away due to tables not being available! This was odd as we were surrounded by empty tables which hadn't been cleaned off from the previous guests. This was obviously a result of only two very busy girls running around trying to clear the tables, desperately needing more help. The restaurant had a hot drink machine and fruit juice dispenser at either end. At one end the fruit despenser was out of order and at the other the end the hot drinks one was also out of order. This made getting drinks tricky with children in tow. I decided I would like poached eggs, these had to be ordered from the kitchen, which I did through one of the staff. After 3 times of asking and half and hour later my eggs arrive, very hard and with shell in (yuck). We complained to a member of staff but he really didn't seemed bothered. It was a real shame because this did taint our stay. Collapse
Great time had by all

Firstly if you are going to stay here KEEP hold of your reservation details or park entry tickets because when you try to get into park early between 9-10 you won't get in without these this meant we were stuck in a queue for half an hour losing half our early bird park time as no one was told this and everyone thought the wristbands issues were all you needed.also there seems to be a mistake with the clues to open the safe so for those who may struggle the passcode is 5444 Azteca is by far the better of the two hotels and the breakfast experience in this hotel is much better and more relaxed ,yes it's a bit pricey but it is well worth it for the kids Avoid the park on busy periods as average queues for big rides is about an hour each so unless you invest in fast track passes you won't get many rides in and fast track passes are very expensive at £6 per person for vampire ride etc but all in all it's a good family break Collapse

Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and would most definitely come back again. We arrived for 10am and decided to see if we could check in as read about the massive queues at 3pm. There was no problem and checked in and were told we could have the keys at 3pm, this allowed us to stay at the park until 5pm and avoid the queues. We asked about booking in a swim time and they advised us to go down to the pool area and book in before we head to the park. This was another easy process. We spent all day at the park and went back to reception at 5pm to get our keys. We were room 1011 and could just about see the animals outside as was slightly obstructed by the rood to the restaurant below but we had a standard room so never expected anything overly amazing. We were pleased none the less. The rooms were lovely, very well decorated. The kids enjoyed the hunt... although we did have to get some help from reception as we just couldn't get the first answer...oops. We visited the Wayuma walk through behind the hotel which the kids enjoyed. We then went swimming at 6.15pm. Swimming was the only downside, as we had a standard room we had to pay extra for swimming. The pool is tiny and the Savannah Splash Pool was a bit naff aswell, if it was included in the price i probably wouldn't have been that annoyed but having to pay an extra £3pp we expected more. It should be included for everyone. The changing rooms were awful, hardly any lockers were working so some people had to take their stuff rpund the pool, the floors were filthy and no where near enough changing cubicles. I really think this is the only area they need to approve on. Breakfast was lovely and had to be booked in the night before, we ate at the temple restuarant for a buffet breakfast that was lovely. Apparently there were character breakfasts but have no idea where that was. Well worth the money spent and the extra hour at the theme park was great. Collapse

Booked a stay for daughters birthday,we had so many problems there to many to mention, lots of waiting around trying to get in the room and out the room. The main problem is we booked treasure room was given summit room.Still no explanation of why we were given the wrong room especially booking 2 months in advance. All they have said is rooms are the same sort of room we are not getting refund, all they want to give us is a day trip back.my daughters birthday has been completed Ruined by this and she is still really upset.we lost 3 hours of the park on the first day due to them not putting the cot in our room, which they said would be there, then the safe didn't work so more waiting for them to bring the key to open it.We also lost our free hour the next day due to more waiting. We booked this stay thinking our daughter was going to have an amazing experience,as we have never been to the hotel couldn't have been more wrong.REALLY DISAPPOINTED !!!!!
