Just home after a lovely relaxing 2 night break at the hotel. We stayed on a B&B basis opting to eat out evening meals out. We did however sample afternoon tea on arrival. It was served in the tower room just off reception. It was really good. There was a good selection of sweets included. The raspberry preserve offered with the scones was absolutely divine and we are not usually that into jams or preserves but it's that good I had to mention it! The sandwich element consisted of three types of "sandwich". An open sandwich of crab with chili and lime beside smoked salmon. This was our favorite. I love crab but this was really beautifully flavored and deserves praise. The other sandwiches were made from mini loaves cut in hales horizontally, and were a little awkward to eat. It was difficult to eat it without opening up my mouth until it was pretty much wide open. Not good for public eating. I was also afraid of the crust given I was biting into solid baked edges but I was unscathed. These loaves were chicken and pesto and egg salad, and to be fair, they were tasty. The scones were also particularly good. We couldn't finish everything. Well worth the price. On Sunday we got the carvery dinner. We both ordered beef and it was good. It is very popular with locals for Sunday dinner so be warned. They serve until 5pm. Dinner was ok. Nothing special at all. The price was good, €12 each, not including drinks. Drinks were a few euro more expensive here than in the local pubs in the village but that's to be expected. Our room was small but had everything we needed. We stayed on the first floor and were at the rear of the hotel overlooking a graveyard. This didn't bother us at all but if it would bother you, it would be worth mentioning on booking. Our bed was comfy as were the pillows. They supplied, tea & coffee facilities in the bedroom and some lotions and potions in the bathroom. We would stay here again. Collapse

Nice hotel for family break..lovely staff .. Especially the lady in charge of breakfast and the girls running the kids club.. Reception staff ... One lady really on top of her job .. Super efficient... One obviously was leaving soon... Left most of the hotel know with her personal calls on reception heard by all as we waited to be dealt with..this was our second stay in this hotel but would be slow to go again as our last visit in Dec 2016 my wife was after some very expensive dental treatment due to unfortunately accident... It resulted in her having to wear dental braces at night after surgery. Braces were left in on suite on our last morning and on return were no where to be found. ... Can only assume that the cleaning staff had binned them as my wife had them rapped in tissue while we were at breakfast.Complained to reception on check out... Was told that management would contact us but 2 months later yet to hear back & had to replace braces costing 550 euros... Not impressed that management never bothered to contact especially as we were repeat customers. Very disappointed with the lack of costumer service from its management team especially as we had such a positive experience with most - bar one who I assume is gone.. No loss there! Of the staff. Pity. Collapse
