We went as Interval Members purely from there brochure. NEVER AGAIN. On arrival at reception we were given a map to find the " bungalow" Asked for pool towels and they looked at me blank and said don't have them. Had to pay for the use of the safe and also pay deposits on safe key and door key. Found bungalow eventually and did not like what I was looking at. Run down and in need of repair. Television didn't work correctly no DVD player as advertised. Telephone didn't work. Went back to reception to ask for WIFI code as that was free. Told it was not working. I asked for code again as when it was working I could connect. Receptionist shouted it was not working and turned her back on me. Asked where's the supermarket and she just pointed out the window. The bed and pillows was so hard I have returned from holiday with a bad back neck and shoulders. Met some nice people there so that helped. Overall this Resort is not worth one star and very over priced. Do not go. Collapse

Please read my other reviews to see I'm not the typical moaner I have just returned from a week at the Castillo beach and was in the park On arrival we went to reception and was given a key and a map and that was it no info about anything what so ever or even told to get to town follow the big path We went to our room dropped off our bags got a quick change then went for a walk to find something to eat We walked down the road which we drove up on the coach ( the long way ) Back at the room later we pushed our 2 single bed together to go to sleep both beds were very uncomfortable but it was a budget trip so I wasn't expecting top notch but I do think it's time they were renewed The bungalow it's self was quite nice yes it was dated but pleasant After talking with our neighbours I was shocked to find out they had been there 2 weeks and not had a cleaner once not even for clean towels We didn't eat at any of the eating establishments so can't comment on them but we did use the pool area This is in a state of disrepair and needs quite a bit of work ( missing and loose tiles The ladders I used to get out were very loose and felt like they were going to come away We did get a cleaner twice during the week she spent a grand total of 5 mins each time no sheets or towels If I was on a budget I would go back I just hope I don't get the service others had mine was ok ( not great but certainly not a holiday spoiler ) Checkout is 10am but there is a shower room you can use that they don't tell you about we found out from a fellow guest The location is up a hill so not the best for some people but as there was a festival type thing going on in town it was ideal as the very very loud music went on till dawn it was great as I could hardly hear it right up the hill I would give this place 5 out of 10 but if we had been given at least clean towels that would have bumped it up and info pack on arrival would have been good too Collapse

My husband and I have just returned from a week staying on the Lake complex. This is our 3rd stay at the Castillo. We have stayed on the Vista & Moon complex previously and we will be back! This holiday we payed slightly more (£20 p.p!) and booked a superior apartment. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There was a lovely pool and a nice pool bar run by a friendly & welcoming lady. This is my 2nd review of the castillo and I urge people not to be put off by the bad reviews, go try for yourself and make your own opinion. As I have said previously if you want 5 star then go 5 star & pay for it. This is a cheap no frills complex but from our experiences we have always been happy. The staff our nice, pools clean, rooms cleaned every other day & best of all is being in Caleta. Go enjoy the sunshine. Collapse
