Just spent 3 nights in Casa Angelina and after dining in their restaurant, I got food poisoning with violent vomiting and other issues.I was so ill,I was unable to leave the hotel for the entire time which meant I didn't get to see any of the Amalfi Coast!Upon leaving, my husband informed the manager/owner who told us that 3 other guests had been ill and a doctor had been called the previous night. He insisted that their food was fresh after speaking to the chef, then offered us a cook book and bottle of olive oil!I had a really terrible experience. The staff were lovely but I wouldn't return. Lucia is the host of this villa and lives on site. First and foremost, she is a lovely host and ensures you are comfortable and when we arrived, she had a porter ready to help, with our bags. The villa is up 126 steps and once you get there, the view is amazing. Pictures alone can not do it justice. Lucia knew that we may be hungry and came up and made us a pasta dinner, while we settled in. She gave us a through tour. She was an excellent hostess and had all the local information for buses, the hours of the local grocery (Tutto X Tutti) which is full of local foods, groceries and liquor. The villa comes with everything you will need, shampoo, shower gel, plenty of towels and is extremely clean. All furnishings are newer and well maintained. All linens are clean and in excellent condition. You can tell this is a family maintained property and kept up. A local restaurant is steps from the entrance (La Moressa) and the food is very good, especially the pastas and pizza. Drinks are good here as well. We explored the entire area using Sorrentino Limo and did the Amalfi Coast tour with Giorgio. We used the SITA bus to go to Amalfi and Positano for return shopping trips. Lucia had tickets for us to use and we replaced them when we got back. The area around the villa is amazing and enjoying a cup of coffee on the balcony in the morning was a delight. Outside there are 2 ceramic tables and chairs and in warmer beach weather an outdoor shower to rinse. Here is the bottom line, clean, well stocked, wonderful host and unbelievable location - this is highly recommended and if you're looking for a villa, near Amalfi or Positano, the perfect location. This is everything I expected from a five star hotel. The staff were attentive and friendly meeting every need we had. The grounds were impeccable with a contemporary style. The beds were comfortable. The food was both delicious and beautiful with a setting that can not really be expressed in words - or even in a picture . Everything around you has a touch of class. The shuttle makes it easy to visit Positano and we took a wonderful boat trip to Capris that left from the dock below. My recommendations to those visiting for the first time. First, don't bring a car. The roads are very difficult to drive and hiring a driver makes the whole experience seamless and stress free (We used Benvenuto Drivers) and they can drop you off for photos, shopping and touring or meals without needing to deal with luggage. Second the hotel can arrange a wonderful boat trip to Capris. This is a small pretty boat that takes no more than 12 people and it is a wonderful way to see the Amalfi Coast from the sea. Third, take a trip up to the Path of the Gods. The easiest way to do this is to start at Nocello (you can take a bus or taxi from Positano). From there it is a relatively level walk for about two hours with unbelievable views. There is then a sign for the Convento di Santa Maria (a Convent) with around 1400 steps down to Praiano where the path exits right above the hotel. This is well worth the effort although parts of the path are a bit rugged. Finally, try one of the tasting menus at the hotel restaurant. It is a beautiful memorable meal full of subtle tastes and luscious combinations. Overall, it was as close to perfection as we have found in our travels. Collapse

We recently visited the Amalfi Coast and stayed at Casa Angelina for my partners 30th birthday. I've never left trip advisor reviews before but this hotel deserves the recognition. As soon as we pulled up to the hotel the staff came out to greet us and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are lovely, very clean and the attention to detail is second to none. The complimentary shuttle car is also a massive bonus to take you to Positano morning or night. The terrace and pool are also amazing and the view is outstanding! We both commented on the staff at the hotel, they are so welcoming and friendly- not just the front of house staff but while around the hotel we come across staff painting knocks on the walls, collecting towels, general house keeping and the drivers were also very friendly and very hard working to give you the most amazing holiday ever. Its the best hotel I have ever visited and hope we get to visit it again in the future. Collapse

This hotel is a true gem: new, clean, with amazing staff, centrally located and has the best view to Positano. Our room was a Romantic Double and had a small balcony with amazing view, clean, new and had everything you would need to make the most of your stay. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, excellent service. Location is perfect if you want to visit all the Amalfi Coast during the day and get back to a true oasis. Collapse
