My S.O. and I visited one Saturday in October and I proposed to her during our visit. I had been in contact with the hotel prior to arriving and from first contact the service was superb. They offered every help and assistance for me plans, nothing was too much to ask. With their help, our evening was simply perfect. From the lower terrace bar where we had a superb glass of local white wine, a falanghina, to the private roof top terrace which they allowed me to use for my proposal, to the fantastic Un Piano Nel Cielo restaurant, the hotel was exceptional. The views are gorgeous, along the coast past Positano and we watched the sun set over Capri, its a magical place. After our dinner in the restaurant I asked for them to arrange a taxi for us, and when one wasnt readily available, they allowed us to use their private shuttle which took us back to our hotel. If we ever return to the Amalfi Coast, I can guarantee we will visit Casa Angelina again. Collapse

I'll echo a lot of what others say - yes, the hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly and their service/recommendations are spot on, and the breakfast buffet is pretty incredible. We definitely had a pleasant stay here. I give it a 3/3.5 mainly because I wouldn't stay here again if I were to come back to the Amalfi Coast. I booked through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts, which generally affords you a VIP experience. In this instance, not so much. We were placed in one of the worst rooms at the hotel - partial view of the ocean, no balcony or patio, kind of a weird layout. I'm sure this is partially my fault because of the room I booked, but I've never stayed in a hotel via Amex FHR where I wasn't staying in one of the best rooms the hotel had to offer. When I inquired, they said the next room up wasn't available, so we would have to pay for the room two tiers above. Honestly, they should have just put us there in the first place. The second reason I wouldn't stay here again is because there are so many beautiful hotels on the Amalfi Coast and this one just isn't up there with the tops, but the price is. For the same price, you can stay in some of the top hotels in the world that are more immersed in the local flavor. I wish I would have done a bit more research beforehand. Also, while I like modern, the vibe of the coast isn't modern so it seems a little out of place. Maybe it's just not my thing, but with the combination of the other incredible properties and their lack of taking into account the FHR booking, I'd personally try someplace else. Collapse

Case Angelina was absolutely the best hotel experience I have had in my travels. The hotel is pristine in all white with modern, colorful art. It really takes advantage of the gorgeous water views situated for the perfect sunset over Positiano. Breathtaking. The service was absolutely impeccable from top to bottom and extraordinarily friendly. They helped us too many times to count with everything - recommendations, reservations, car rentals, taxis both road and boat, shuttles etc... They took care of us. And everything they did for us was just put on the bill so we didn’t have to worry about fares or tours at all which made it easy and streamlined. We even saw a worker running around with a little paintbrush touching up marks on walls all in an effort to keep the hotel looking its best as all times. I traveled with my best friend and this hotel is pretty much a couples / honeymoon destination but we still loved it and all the pampering we received. And the driveway is quite scary – I got use to it after 5 days but its death defying and if you are scared of heights keep your eyes closed but its well worth it for this remarkable slice of paradise. We recently stayed at Casa Angelina to celebrate our honeymoon/1 year wedding anniversary for 4 nights. This was our first time to the Amalfi Coast and we were stunned (albeit a bit scared) by the beautiful drive in. We were especially impressed each time we drove up/down the hotel driveway by how skilled the drivers were! The hotel is really quite stunning. It is unique on the Amalfi Coast with its more modern, all-white design with darkwood floors, and spots of colorful glasswork. We had a great time admiring all of the art, particularly in the lobby. Upon our arrival, we were offered some water or almond milk, and we both tried the almond milk. It seemed like it was sweetened (too sweet for us) so we didn't go back for more. The front desk efficiently checked us in and took us to our room and showed us all of the features. We also were welcomed with a nice fruit plate and a half bottle of Casa Angelina's champagne. For what we paid for a Relaxing Sea View room, we arrived and left feeling like it was over-priced. The room and the balcony were quite tiny and the sun loungers took up nearly the entire balcony - and all that separated us from both of the neighboring rooms were some short plants, making the rooms much less private. We paid extra for this room type in order to spend time on the balcony, but when lounging on the sun chairs, the balcony was so high we had zero view of the ocean and the coastline. The beds had lovely sheets, and the bathroom towels and robes were terrific, but the bed itself was a bit firm, and the bathroom was also quite tiny. However, due to the amazing location of the hotel built into the cliff, I imagine space is a bit scarce. Again, this comes back to the value of what we felt we were paying for and receiving. However, where we really felt the hotel shined was in the amenities. We spent about two of our days using the One Fire Beach club access. We had a blast down there, particularly taking the steep round trip walks to get to and from the water (we thought this was super neat and soon learned that this was quite typical of Praiano). We typically went down a little before lunchtime, handed the super welcoming staff our Casa Angelina vouchers and set up on the far end of the club in our chairs with towels and water bottle. The music never stopped, and while we're used to our quiet Maui beach time, we still really enjoyed ourselves. The ocean was just amazing (no sand, so crystal clear, refreshing Tyrrhenian Sea) and the service at the beach club was terrific. We spoke to a couple staying at Le Sirenuse and they mentioned this was a downside of staying in Positano - the beaches were much more crowded! And this was late September/early October. We ended up spending almost no time at the pool because the beach club was so great. We spent about two hours by the pool, but it was a very small area and as I mentioned, we much preferred the scene and ocean at One Fire. Speaking of Positano, another great amenity was the complimentary shuttle to/from Positano. The times were generally very convenient and we had a great time utilizing this service. Another benefit which we couldn't quite figure out were the buses. The hotel front desk had available bus tickets for sale (no markup) which was a convenient way to purchase bus tickets to take to Amalfi or even Ravello. We didn't make it there, but we appreciated having the tickets readily available. We also took the water taxi twice, once via a complimentary feature of a nearby restaurant, and once to get back to the hotel quickly - this was a lot of fun, a great way to see the coast quickly, and was handily arranged by the hotel. We dined at the hotel 2 of our 4 nights in Praiano. The setting was amazing with great sunset views and views of Positano and Capri in the distance. The food was delicious, and while the service was very warm, sometimes it felt a bit overbearing and hovering. We had fun trying different waters off the water menu though - how often do you get to order off a water menu? The service at the hotel was very attentive and friendly, from the front desk (thank you for the awesome olive oil departure gift!) to the concierge (great nearby recommendations) to Marrakesh Bar staff (loved the castelvetrano olives and the chocolates!), to the housekeeping (fun treats every night at turn down and L'Occitane hand cream was much appreciated!) I'm not sure if we'd return here only because the rooms seem so expensive for what you get, but maybe that is the norm for the Amalfi Coast. Or maybe we would try a different room type or visit at a different time of year. However, for everything else, Casa Angelina is terrific. Collapse
