The Casa Angelina is an immaculate contemporary hotel, that completely avoids being sterile or cold. We spent four nights there with friends and both of our rooms were beautiful, with amazing views. The rooms, which are entirely white, are re-touched with paint after each guest checks out, which will give an indication of the attention to detail at this superb hotel. Breakfast was a total treat with everything you could possibly want and all presented with style. In fact all our meals were delicious. Probably the stand out aspect of our stay however was the attitude of the brilliant staff who are not only utterly efficient and professional but also the friendliest we have ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble, and every request was treated with such a can do attitude. Someone has done a fantastic job not only on choosing lovely people to work there, but also training them to perfection. Top marks Hotel Angelina! We absolutely loved you! Collapse
overcharged $220 euros for booking an activity while staying at the hotel

I was on my honeymoon and stayed here for 3 nights. I booked a private romantic boat ride for 2 with a captain to Capris for 8 hours through the hotel by emailing the concierge and making the arrangements. I picked a boat and agreed on the cost with the hotel, which was $1320 euros including tax. What I did not know at the time, was had I contacted the boat service directly (Positano boats), the price for the same boat / service would have been $1100 Euros. So, I overpaid $220 euros for the boat by making the reservation through the hotel. While I expected some booking fee for this, I feel that $220 Euros is an unfair amount to take for the small convenience. I trusted the 5 star hotel to be fair in their pricing but did not find that to be the case. My advice is if you do stay here, do not use the hotel to make any arrangements, as they will price gouge you for this convenience. Collapse

This hotel has everything to offer and more; and it turned out to be one of the best hotel experiences in Italy, if not ever (and we've stayed in our share of nice hotels). Everything was effortless and though out from the very beginning. They greeted us with drinks and gave us quick tour of the hotel. By the time we got to the room our luggage and all the necessities were waiting for us in our room. Not only do they have amazing views, they also have all the amenities you could want including massage, outdoor/indoor pool, spa and gym. Their breakfast which is included has a great variety of food and is amazingly delicious. We ended up staying in one night and enjoying their dinner at the upstairs restaurant and I must say it felt like a Michelin star restaurant. The food, the presentation and the service was impeccable. The chef and the staff really did an outstanding job. (In fact next night when we went to enjoy Rada, a Michelin guide restaurant in Positano, I was actually wishing we were back in our hotel. It was that much better.) The beach club downstairs is really great and a lot of fun. Hotel comps the beds and the 1st water bottle. In sum, my husband and I had a great time and we wish our stay was a little bit longer. Great hotel all around and we would not hesitate to recommend it to all of our friends and family! Collapse

A luxury boutique hotel set in the small village of Praiano with beautiful views across the bay to the nearby town of Positano. The location is ideal for peace and quiet and with the main attractions easily available by bus or taxi. The hotel has excellent facilities with a lovely pool area and great open air restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms are modern (and maybe a bit bland) but small with their own balcony, but it is generally nicer to relax by the pool. Service by the pool was good with the ocassional ice-cream treat delivered in the heat of the afternoon, as well as snacks provided with drinks. Breakfast was excellent, with a massive range of very high quality food and attentive staff. A fruit bowl and bottle of Prosecco was provided on check-in which is a nice touch, and during the nightly turn-down service, chocolates were provided. This is a classy touch but one that is expected for a hotel in this price range. The main negatives were the inability of the front desk staff to take on board a request and ensure it was actioned! We complained that the bath was filling with water when we had a shower, but this was never resolved - it is unclear if the request was ignored or whether they were unable to address the situation. Worse, our fruit bowl was removed at the end of the second day, despite the fruit in it being perfectly edible. We complained on 3 separate occasions and asked if we could have it returned, or at least just a few pieces of fruit, but nothing turned up. Given the boutique nature of the hotel and the relatively high room prices, poor customer service is disappointing, when so many of the other aspects of the hotel were so good. Collapse

If you are heading to Positano, don't stay in Positano! Stay at Casa Angelina and enjoy the gorgeous views of the town without having to endure the crowds and noise. When you want to go into Positano you can take the hotel shuttle (if that is what you call a new, luxurious Audi A8!). This hotel is quite modern in appearance, but is five star in every way. The staff is wonderful, professional, attentive, yet playful. We truly enjoyed everyone we met. The intimate boutique nature of the hotel makes for a very serene experience. But, if serene isn't your thing, walk down (many steps) to the beach club where there is a constant party! That said, I would recommend requesting a room in the main hotel lest you end up in the rooms closer to the beach club where the constant thump, thump, thump of the music might get old very quickly. We ate b/l/d at the hotel because it was the end of our trip and we planned to stay put and relax. The food is among the very best we have ever (yes ever) experienced at a hotel. Sumptuous breakfast buffet, excellent light lunch by the pool and a dinner experience that is top notch in every way served on the roof deck looking at the lights of Positano. The rooms are not large, but are clean, modern, comfortable, well appointed and have a terrace or balcony overlooking the sea, Positano and Capri in the distance. All of this excellence has a price, but if you can afford the splurge, you will not be disappointed. It was a perfect couple of days respite at the end of our Italian holiday. Collapse
