Had an amazing week from 7 August. The holiday was made so fabulous by the staff and their incredibly hard work. The animation team are very motivated and worked hard to make sure kids as well as adults had fun. We loved the aqua gym and the water polo each day. Giovanni, Margo and Sara to name a few were so passionate about their work. Maria at the pool bar was amazing with the kids and adults too. The housekeepers were polite and changed our towels and made up our bed each day. The complex is split into four levels. The first level is apartments and a large pool which is good for diving as it is deep at one end. This pool is not staffed and so the kids were able to enjoy using their inflatables. The downside to this pool is there is no access to drinks. There was a bar area but even in peak season this was always closed. This could be improved with just a water dispenser or soft drinks machines. The next level is the main level with the main pool, pool bar and snack area and the restaurant. As all inclusive guests we had unlimited fruit juices, fizzy drinks, coffee and alcohol such as beer and wine. The snacks were hot dogs and ice cream available all day. The vibe in this area is fun and the entertainment team offer activities for most of the day. In the evening there is a show for the kids and seating for adults to sit and enjoy a drink overlooking the pool. The only downside to this area during the day is the lack of management of sunbeds and people reserving beds with towels the night before. We saw some guest had towels out all day and never arrived to use them and this resulted in us struggling to find a bed on certain days. There is a member of staff at the pool all day who does a good job of keeping the pool safe. Perhaps her role could include the removal of towels where reserved beds are not being used until late afternoon, if at all? The third level is the splash park. You are not allowed food and drinks here but the kids generally just visited for a couple of hours at a time so didn't cause us any issues. The splash park was great fun and there is a great view of the resort and beach. The final level was more apartments and we were pleased not to be based there as it looked a hell of a walk up a steep hill. The food in the restaurant was consistently excellent and there was always a vast choice for kids and adults. The wine and soft drinks were good quality and we always left the restaurant feeling we had a good meal. They need to fit some equipment to combat the flys in here as they were a constant nuisance and were all over the buffet. We had a two bed apartment which was clean but basic. Not the sort of apartment you would want to spend time in other than to sleep, which suited us as we wanted to be out and about. No air con in the block we were in and this made for a very uncomfortable first night. Thankfully it cooled to around 21 degrees for the remaining nights. The ceiling fans did a decent job on these nights but we wouldn't have liked to have been there the week prior to that when the temperatures were extreme. We had an amazing view of the sea to wake up to in room 320. Be sure to take insect repellant as we were all bitten by mosquitoes and we are not prone to bites. Despite the few niggles we had an amazing weeks holiday. The place is pretty well geared up to provide for all ages in kids and for adults too. Collapse

I have just returned from a week stay here with my family (husband and 2 children aged 5 & 2) we all had a fantastic time, the resort is lovely and clean, very large and has everything you could possibly need. We loved the splash park up the top, the kids spent endless amount of time playing in here, sunbeds are available up here should you want to sit by it all day and let the kids play although being higher up we found it quite windy most days so we sat round the shallow end of the main pool and just nipped up there every now and again throughout the day. The shallow pool was great and fenced off from the main pool so the kids couldn’t get any further, plenty of sunbeds and we always managed to get 3 right in front of the shallow area. We went bed and breakfast so had an apartment, breakfast was lovely plenty of variety every morning and apartment was lovely and clean, with hob, microwave, fridge and kettle. My only niggle would be a bottle of washing up liquid and a tea towel (seeing as you get fresh towels every day) wouldn’t go a miss in the room. Large well stocked supermarket on site had everything we needed as nothing else within walking distance but only few minute taxi ride into Fornells, had some lovely meals here. Try and make the Market in El Mercadal on a Thursday night it was great and also had a live band playing was a wonderful atmosphere and again ate in some lovely restaurants here too, El Mercadal about 10 minute taxi ride away. They only have one taxi company on the island so sometimes could be a few minute wait. The entertainment team was great, kids club run throughout the day and then a mini disco in the evening followed by more entertainment for the adults in the evening also various activities for the adults throughout the day, aqua aerobics, water polo, tennis, darts, mini golf. Spectacular views surround the hotels and the beach was beautiful, the sea was so warm and clear and you could go out quite far before it got deep. Overall an excellent holiday and highly recommend Carema Club Resort. Collapse

We spent ten nights here in Aug 2017 with the kids aged 6 and 3 and we all had a wonderful time! The positives: The resort is extremely clean, friendly, plenty to do, three lovely pools to choose from, main pool is fun with activities and shallow area for younger children, fun entertainment all day and evening to get involved in if you wish, external shows on some nights which were great, excellent food selection (same selection for All inclusive and Half board guests), dining room is clean and modern with indoor and outdoor seating, two other restaurants available if you fancy a change, spectacular sea and mountain views everywhere, lovely strolls around the resort, caring staff who can't do enough for you, rooms in Club resort spacious (even with the sofa bed pulled out) with good air con, nice balcony, rooms cleaned daily, kitchen in room is more than adequate for a half board holiday, great onsite supermarket, brilliant splash park which does have sunbeds and chairs and some shaded areas and you can take water in there to drink, beautiful beach with pedalos and rock pools, and lovely shallow water...... I could go on...... The negatives: There weren't any......! 10/10 Collapse

We were 2 adults and 2 kids (9-12) on an all inclusive week booked through Jet2 Holidays. Carema was a good place to stay, marred by a few issues. The Good: The All Inclusive food and drink were good. Opening hours for breakfast, lunch and dinner were expansive along with a hut by the pool that provided hot dogs throughout the day. With AI we all had access to the onsite Splash Park, which was an extra dimension for the kids. There is an inbuilt supermarket that sells everything from sun cream to Showbiz magazines, and is a nice place to hang out in as it is fully air conditioned (more on that later). Although you need to be up early to reserve a well placed sun lounger, the vast majority get somewhere. There are also 4 poster beds and seats available, but hard to get due to limited availability. The staff were, on the whole, very friendly. The Animation team were active during the day to try and keep people entertained with everything from Yoga to ball bouncing games. The cleaning staff are good, and replace your white towels every day, and change the sheets every 3.The hotel sits on the beach, but the bay is a bit small. However there are steps that take you over to the next cove that is much bigger and better maintained. You can hire Parasols and sunbeds but there is also a lot of room to just bring some beach towels and do it old school. You can rent towels extra trowels from the hotel for this, so no need to bring from home. Fornells itself is a short bus ride away (or reception will book you a taxi, which was about 7 euros) and is beautiful. Food is a bit pricey - easy 40 euro per head, but the harbour is spectacular. Also has local markets etc on various days, so well worth a visit. The bad: I think a lot of this has been mentioned before, but worth a recap. The Carema Garden Hotel next door has no air con. The Carema Club resort does. But it is shockingly poor. I don't speak much Spanish, but the engineer indicated to me that it was not there to stiffen the nipples... It's a gentle waft of coolish air that takes the sting out of the heat. If you have kids, or even yourself that needs some serious cooling off like you get in most places I have been to with aircon, you are going to struggle with the relentless heat and no place to cool down apart from the shower. Our room was small with partner and 2 kids in one small room, me on the settee in the main kitchen diner that was about 12' by 6'. Compact et bijoux. The signage is poor - you will get a map and some directions given to you on arrival, but you can take 2 days finding where things are. I only found the cineclub on the 5th day! The night time shows from 9.30 - 10.30 were not too hot, but the kids seemed to love them. The bar for AI people also close at 10.30, so you then have to pay if you want later drinks. Everything closes down at 11pm, which might be a bit early for some, but this is definitely a family friendly resort. Would have been nice to have something quiet available for another hour or so. The Ugly: One morning a kids swimming nappy fell off. It wasn't soiled, but the hotel shut the whole pool down for a full day. I can understand the fear of false claims of norovirus etc, but it wasted a day for a lot of people. Added to the issue of poor aircon made for some very sad times that day. Ironically, our 9 year old managed to cut the sole of her foot to the bone on a protruding bolt on the bottom of the splash pool. Blood was everywhere and it took 2 days to heal after a lot of care (mother is medically trained luckily), but nothing was closed. Hotel didn't fill in an accident book, so we have no idea if this is a one off event or something that happens often and the management team are not aware of it. Whilst happy with the food, I still feel slightly aggrieved as tro how AI guests were treated. We spent about 1K paying for All inclusive, but I felt like a 2nd class citizen. I could get a beer, but only in a small and flimsy plastic cup that went warm in seconds. Or I could pay 2.80 and have a pint in a glass. I could get a Mojito with 1 ice cube, a bit of mint and ready mix cocktail bottles in same plastic cup, or spend 5 euros and get an amazing drink with macerated ice, named brand liquor and mint that was (I kid you not) hand slapped 3 times by the barman to extract the maximum flavour without too much bruising of the leaves. In a beautiful glass. The pizza on the all inclusive menu was from the same oven as the half board side. It was really well made, but the AI side got basic cheese and tomato, tuna, or my favourite, a chip pizza. The half boarders also got a preferential spot outside that AI were not allowed to sit in. If I were to go back, I would go half board and enjoy great food and drink in the evening. Conclusion: I enjoyed my week here. The kids loved it. But there were a few missing details that made this, for me, an average holiday. I think there are better places you can spend £500 a day for four. Collapse

Great hotel. Not much outside of hotel but that was fine. Pools great. Can even get a sun bed half way through the day without s problem. Splash park great and fun. Food lovely plenty of choice. Pizzas amazing. Can get hot dogs all day from main pool bar. Inflatables only allowed at the 'other' big pool. There are three pools plus splash park. Sporys area, chill out area. Right on the beach which is lovely and even has lifeguard. Can hire pedals for E12. Singers are about E20 for 2 and a brolly. Animation team good during day. Night shows weren't great though. Ok for little kids as there's a mini disco each night. Supermarket round the corner selling everything you could need. Wifi bit hit and miss in rooms. Can't get it round pool. Would definitely revisit here. Was so relaxing and nice. Collapse
