Was really looking forward to this holiday read all the amazing reviews and got really excited to go but once their it was bad bad bad we arrived at the resort at 1pm and our room was not ready we went for some food but was not that's great we finally got our room after 5 pm we were hot tired as we had been traveling since 3am that morning room was ok basic but no kettle to make tea and no extra blankets we were frozen the first night next day we went to reception and asked for kettle and blankets they gave us blankets to take back but took 3 days to get our kettle the pool was frozen but once in was ok the food most days was basic it's ok if you like fish one night it was all fish so chips and pizza for me and the kids that night pizza was ok but got cold quickly so best to grab as soon as it's out. To get to our room it was lots of hills and steps and the hotel is in the middle of no we're it's a 40 min walk to fornells which was nothing great you can get a bus at certain times. Their was no were to get money either from a bank or exchanged need to go to a main town so take your spending money with you. The only thing I can say that was good about the hotel was their bar staff and entertainment staff the girl with the dreads was amazing and my son loved her and joined the kids club which is a first and amazing considering my son is autistic and the really thin girl with long dark hair that did the exercise during the day was lovely and loved joining in with her and the Italian bar man was so funny and loved getting a wee chat with him when at he bar. Their was two a la carte restaurants but you have to book in the day before we tried the grill one and not that great tbh and you get a set menu to choose from not their full menu. All in all I wouldn't go back, to secluded and to many stairs and hills and food was crap Collapse

We have just returned from the Carema club. We usually travel on 4 and 5 star holidays including cruises so some of my opinions might be a little harsh. For a 3 star this complex has a lot of facilities. We specifically choose it for the splash park which did not disappoint. It is brilliant and bigger than it looks in the photos. The main pool is also good with the kids pool perfect for small children as it was very shallow and had a sloping edge. The beach is beautiful as are the views of the bay. The food was good for a 3 star with plenty choice. I wasn't keen on the breakfast hot food, the eggs were always cold and rubbery but the chef was happy to scramble up some fresh egg for my 8 month old. Dinner time was better with always something that we all liked. You just help yourself to soft drinks, wine or beer. I thought this was a nice touch as you can have as much as you wanted included in the half board. The entertainment team worked very hard, we never stated up late enough to watch the shows after mini disco so can't comment on the quality of that but my 3 year old enjoyed mini disco. There is a supermarket onsite where you will get most things, including nappies, swim nappies, pre made baby milk and Baby food. All a lot more expensive than you pay at home but atleast it's available. Water and food are all reasonably priced, a few days we bought some fresh baguettes and meat and cheese instead of eating out for lunch. We were half board so got breakfast and dinner included. Now for the negatives (sorry). The apartments are very basic and that was us upgrading to a superior sea view. The view was beautiful but we didn't make the most of it because we were on a ground floor with terrace. I would have preferred a balcony but that would mean more steps which brings me to my next negative. Everyone comments on the hills and stairs and like most people I just thought people were moaning but it really really is hilly. I know the complex can't do anything about this but if you have a buggy or any walking difficulties this is most definitely not the place for you. Our apartment was D102 which was just above the splash park but we still had to walk a few mins to get there as was the same with the rest of the complex. Every time we forgot something it was a pain to go all the way back up to the apartment. Like I said we are used to luxury hotels and I love to come back after a day swimming to a beautiful room so coming back to a basic apartment was disappointing. We booked apartments this holiday because we needed a kitchen to be able to prepare bottles etc for our baby. The last negative, wifi is absolute crap! We got a signal only a couple of times the whole holiday but it wasn't strong enough to do anything. When we first arrived and I couldn't get the signal I asked if there were any public phones but there weren't any on the street and the hotel ones no longer worked, also the hotels internet wasn't working so I felt completely cut off from the world and no way to contact family. I managed to get a signal by walking around to find one and could quickly message home to say all ok before signal went. Carema shouldn't advertise free wifi when it is sooooo bad. I don't want to put a dampener on the complex because it really is beautiful and the negatives are really just things that can't be helped. We won't return because we won't need apartment next time as our baby will no longer need bottles so we'll go back to hotels/cruises. However I would recommend to families with children not in buggies and who just use the apartment as a base and don't spend much time in there. Collapse

First thing I would say is read up on the hotel. The hotel is on a hill so rooms are either up walkways or lots of steps. Not that this affects the holiday at all. After reading the mixed reviews I did have a few concerns however the only negative about the holiday was coming home. Rooms are lovely. Yes there are tiny things that could be upgraded but in a Spanish resort they exceeded my expectations and the little area outside the door was perfect for us to sit at night once our young children had gone to bed. Entertainment is all day and night. If you want to join in you can, if not you can still relax. Loved the cooking paella show poolside. We only went to the small beach by the restaurant but loved it and very shallow waters - perfect for our 3 and 1 year old. Food everywhere we ate was amazing. I couldn't believe the choice. Pools are cold but once your in you climatise. It didn't bother any of our party of 8 and we spent loads of time in the pools. Splash pool is amazing for children but I would agree some sun shade is needed. They also have a bouncy castle and park which is great after a day by the pool and is shaded. There is a bus stop outside so if you want to go out and about you can. We went to Mao and Fornells. This was an amazing family holiday and I would like to go again but prices will be unaffordable once my daughter starts school. Highly recommended Collapse

We stayed in room k104 which is right at the very back of the hotel which apparently is best as we had two kids. The rooms are to be honest, very very outdated and basic but to be honest for what we payed it was fine the only issues were that the waste came up through the floor in the bathroom after a bath or shower, you can pull the windows open without any force even when locked so I would highly recommend a room that isn't ground floor if possible also because you can hear the people above scraping they're chairs and tables about above when your trying to sleep. The food in the hotel was incredible to be honest. Especially the BBQ restaurant. The only issue we found was the sausages looked like they'd been cooked for all of 2 minutes and the bacon could have done with a little bit longer. I would highly recommend going to bar okapi too as this place has hit the nail on the head. Good food, staff, sports on the tele, pool table but you will have to book if you go after the month of may. Definitely take a walk over the walkway to the second beach. Was perfect. Splash park is okay but there is no cover/shade for the kids. I'd also recommend a trip into Fornells especially up to see the castle. All in all a good place to go for a nice family holiday with really good food but don't get your hopes up for anything special within the rooms unless you've payed for something special. Be careful round the pool as when it gets wet it's very slippery. We are already looking to come back in September Collapse
The best hotel for kids I have been to so far!!
