Hotel has a decent size pool for kids, but other than that not too great. The location is ok if visiting Vatican. Hotel is overall warn out and has seen its best days. The breakfast was quite disappointing, small selection and overall just a big hassle. The staff was good and tried to help, but the hotel itself is in my opinion 3 stars, not 4 as its marketed often. We selected the place because of the pool. Collapse

Modern corporate and mass-tourism hotel, away from the centre in a leafy district with good connections to public transport. I needed garage space for a couple of days with a rented car and this was freely available, secure, and with a choice of underground or open-air parking. Rooftop view of St Peter's dome is fabulous, and they serve drinks up there in the evening. There are even three Jacuzzis on the roof (not hot water but very refreshing to soak and see the dome at the same time). Ground floor-pool was very welcome during a five-day heat wave, though one visit was spoiled by rowdy Belgian males getting drunk and dive-bombing - and the evening closure at 7pm is ridiculously early. Staff I found very helpful. Breakfast rather too limited, with espresso machines breaking down a lot and "juice" something pitiful. The room was spacious but the sliding doors on the wardrobe kept getting jammed, and the shaving/makeup mirror took many visits by handymen over two days to repair ... they are struggling to keep all the moving parts maintained Collapse

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. This hotel is a bit old and the room wasn't spacious enough. The most concern was the air conditioner system. This is the first time ever i found air conditioner that can't be turn off. Why would anyone install that kind of system in a hotel? It was freezing although i already put the AC on the highest temperature. And another thing to complain about was the poor selection of breakfast menu. For 2 days in a row nothing was changed, it was lack of flavor and lack of variation. Collapse

The worst experience at a hotel. We woke up at 3 o'clock in the morning with a fire in the room, looking for things to steal. Because we were not told that the air conditioning could only be started at reception, we had to leave the open door to the balcony overnight. At about 3 o'clock I felt moving in the room and I thought it was my wife, but when I woke up, I realized that it was a hot girl who was looking for us through the room, things to steal, money, phones, etc. We were lucky because he did not steal anything because he was messy in the room and did not see what to steal. When I called out what he was looking for, he ran off the balcony door and disappeared into the night. We sent a security guard from the reception but said he could do nothing just to communicate the next day to the director. In the morning I saw that there was an announcement on the balcony door that the door or open windows should not be left open. I'll attach pictures, but please do not accept to stay in room 105, ask for an upstairs room and do not leave the door or window open. If you can bypass this hotel and keep in mind that in the hotels in Rome you can be robbed with you in the room and the staff take no action. Collapse

I do not like giving bad reviews, but this hotel was a huge disappointment and I have to speak out. We booked on the hotel's own homepage... not via some hotel bargain-site. My credit card was charged immediately for the entire amount.. no further info. We had a couple questions regarding our stay - complete silence, no answers to emails and followed by incredibly rude and unhelpful contact via phone. Upon arrival, we were given a key to a conference room (!) with two pull-out beds, no further furniture and neon-lighting. This room was on the ground-floor facing the trash cans and air-conditioning in the back. Upon my firm yet polite refusal to accept this room under any circumstances, the receptionist got really angry and obnoxious, telling me I booked a cheap rate and that she could not do anything. Following an extended, very annoying discussion (I was on vacation with my finacee!), she gave me 3 other rooms (also ground floor) to choose from. These were a touch better, but still not worthy of a "an exclusive 4 Star resort hotel with Swimming pool only a short distance from the centre of Rome", as they describe themselves on their own website. After round 3 of discussions we finally got a room on the second floor, which was OK, but nothing special. On the bright side, the bed was very confy. Next negative surprise came, when we went to the pool, where we were told (once again in an incredible rude manner) that the pool was closed because the staff needed to clean it. For the record: the pool is pretty disgusting, the edges are chipped, the pool itself has yellow stains and the entire pool area is pretty run down and barren. I was furious about this type of treatment. Yet the negative surprises were not over: the next morning we were among the first for breakfast, as we had Rome waiting for us, the entire staff was grumpy, no smiles, no good mornings. Coffee was absolutely revolting (automatic coffee machine), croissants and bread were of cheap supermarket quality, "fresh fruit" consisted of canned pineapple and peaches, what looked like ham was in fact pressed meat! I asked the staff if it would be possible to get fresh fruit (as advertised!) the following morning, they rudely advised me to speak to the receptionist. He in turn refused to comment and told me to speak to the restaurant... long story short: the next morning we did NOT have any fresh fruit. The walls between the rooms are very thin - we had people next door who partied until way after midnight and would not stop, even after knocking on their door. Reception did not help. Air-conditioning can only be switched on/off by the reception, the temperature cannot be regulated from the room... ie. either 35 or 5 degrees. Depending on who you encounter at the reception, you get either an uninterested or even a rude answer... So, to sum up our experience: this hotel is a shame and should not be allowed to carry 4 stars. I really feel sorry for the few(!) nice employees, ex. the cleaning staff and the pool bartender. Hopefully they will fire the hotel manager, whoever he/she may be. Collapse
