The Caravel Hotel is an elegant four star facility of Sant'Agnello, an enchanting centre close to Sorrento. The name of the village is inspired to the Patron Saint, Sant'Agnello, to whom the festivity of the 14th of December is dedicated.
The Caravel Hotel is the ideal solution for those who want to spend a relaxing holiday at the sea: in few minutes, walking for about 200 meters, it is possible to reach the Sant'Agnello small beach of Marinella. Immersed in the green, surrounded by a typical Sorrento garden, with a swimming pool, a panoramic solarium. A well equipped and very good restaurant with bar, the four star Caravel Hotel in Sant'Agnello provides a good alternative to all those who wish to relax and avoid the summer chaos typical of the main tourist centres.
Another good reason to choose to spend a pleasant holiday in Sorrento, while staying in one of the quietest and most relaxing centres in the Sorrento Coast, is the very good quality/price ratio which has characterized the commercial policy of the hotel for years: you will be accommodated in cosy rooms with any comfort at really favourable prices.
Shuttle service into Sorrento city centre is included in the price.

This hotel is clean and comfortable and well placed for exploring Sorrento and further afield. Good points include the really helpful receptionists, our room was large and airy, the pool and terrace are lovely, breakfast is good (if samey after 8 days). As Sorrento is noisy and expensive this is a really good option if you want somewhere quieter and more affordable. We were some of the youngest guests in the hotel when we stayed (we're in our mid 30s and most were our parents age or older). This doesn't matter to us and did change a bit by the end of the week. Some of the reasons we only gave this a 3 star were that there were lots of things which niggled or were moderately annoying. Some small changes could have made it a 4. The food at dinner wasn't to our taste at all. Lots of people seem to love it according to the reviews but as two people who love Italian food we couldn't say this was a good example of it. Sometimes pasta was overcooked or sloppy, fish was over-seasoned and generally we had much better food in cheap restaurants in Rome. Also everyone seemed to eat at the beginning of dinner so if we turned up after 7.30 we were the last ones there and some choices ran out. We wouldn't usually choose half board but we had no choice with our package. Twice we ate in Sorrento and skipped dinner and this was much better. Many have mentioned the friendly and gentlemanly restaurant staff. This is a personal preference thing and to me it sometimes crossed the line into overfamiliar. Each to their own. The shuttle bus into town is really useful as though the walk isn't far it was very hot and the road doesn't always have good pavement. However, the bus doesn't run from 12.45 until 4pm for some reason so spending the morning there and then coming back mid afternoon for a swim at the pool isn't an easy option. In the evening there is a large gap in service too. Paying extra for towels for the pool seemed cheeky in a supposedly 4 star hotel. Also on the subject of towels they ask you to 'consider the environment' but our shower screen wasn't fully to the wall of our shower meaning the floor got sopping wet every time we used it and we needed all the towels just to make it safe to walk in the bathroom. A stupid design. All in all a comfortable stay and good base for exploring but we wouldn't go back. Too many niggling annoyances and we would rather only have B&B and not be tied to what the hotel finds convenient. Collapse

My partner & I are currently lying poolside at Hotel Caravel & thinking about what an excellent experience we have had. For just over £1,200 we've had 7 glorious days, breakfast & flights with BA. Our room is spacious and cool (perfect air-con) with a high-pressure shower & a view over the pool (you can pay more for a balcony which on other rooms look generously sized too). There's plenty of loungers around the pool along with parasols & tables to make things easier; we've visited in June & the sun is strong from 10am-7pm when it just begins to tuck behind neighbouring buildings. Breakfast is your standard European breakfast; fruits, yoghurts, bread & cooked options. The bar inside is lovely & reasonably priced; it even delivers to the poolside. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are all so friendly & full of advice for visiting the area. Even the housekeepers would say "Ciao" as you passed them in the corridor. Overall a lovely stay in a lovely hotel. Would 100% return here if we come back to Sorrento! Collapse

We stayed here for 7+2 nights (Flight Cancellation....), on a Newmarket Travel holiday, from 27th May 2017. Despite our late arrival, we enjoyed a pleasingly efficient welcome. We could go to our room, leave our baggage there, and then come down to the cold plate they had set up for us. However, as it was quite late, we couldn't do the 'meal' justice, as we were simply wanting to go to bed. We did have to request two extra pillows, as only one is provided per guest. But they were bought to the room very quickly, despite the late hour. This is an ideally located hotel, because it is slightly removed from the road traffic noise, and is a pleasant environment to stay in, but that 20 minute walk into town can be very noisy, no matter which way you walk. (Scooters mainly....and so many of them!) It's also just a short 200m walk down to the seafront, with some colourful sunsets to be had, extensive views of the bay, and of course, Versuvius. The hotel was exceptionally clean and well presented, and there is a nice relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. The main reception areas are comfortable, modern, light and airy, with a covered terrace, plus outside sofas and armchairs. It boasts a good sized pool, which is solar heated, so was somewhat 'cool' when you first venture into it, but was fine once you were swimming, and with the bonus of hot showers! Adequate for guests of any age, it also has a lovely garden area, and comfortable sunbeds. Free wi fi was available, which also worked in our room. If you wanted a 'Pool Towel', it was €2.00 for the duration of your stay, payable on collection from reception. Well worth it. The room(s) were comfortable and clean, (we ended up staying in 220, and 410) and well decorated. The cleaners came in daily and if you wanted clean towels you just had to leave the used towels on the floor, but we seemed to get them changed anyway! There were complimentary shower gel and shampoos if required. There could have been more drawers in the wardrobe, but we managed. There was always hot water in the basin and shower. As it is an eco hotel, once you leave the room the electricity is switched off until you return, and put the key fob in the power socket. So that's why our electronic gadgets were not charging whilst we were out of the room! There is also a free, easy to use safe in the wardrobe, which was also really useful. There are sun terraces are on the 4th and 5th floor (Roof). In season there are sunbeds on both, and also ratten furniture on the 4th floor terrace. We were on half board, and were very well pleased with all the food, and the service. For breakfast there was a wide choice of meat, ham, cheese, and (shelled) hard boiled eggs. Cereals, fruit, natural yogurt, cakes and croissants. Bread, (but watch out for the 'Toaster' machine, which proved quite troublesome for some guests!) scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, tomatoes and hotdog sausages. Various flavours of tasty fruit juices, and also tea and coffee. No complaints there for us! The evening meals were wonderful, with the menu in both Italian and English. Dinner consisted of a varied salad buffet with breads. Followed by a choice of starters, main meals (Fish & Vegetarian options available) and tasty deserts. All the waiting staff worked very well as a team, and are a credit to the hotel. Angelo, the head waiter, is also a true gentleman (see photo with of myself with Angelo). Credit should also be given to the kitchen staff, who produced some lovely meals. The hotel runs a fairly regular free of charge Shuttle Bus from the hotel gates, which takes you to the bus station in Sorrento. A timetable, along with a map, is given on arrival. Just a couple of minutes walk from the bus station, and you are in the town centre. Watch(out!), and be quite shocked, at the Italian driving, especially the scooters, of which there are very, very many. It's best to settle the room bill the evening before departure. Don't forget there is a room tax charge of €1.50 per person, per night. Thank you Hotel Caravel for a really enjoyable visit. Collapse
