We stayed here as a start of our honeymoon, the staff were very understanding and helped us celebrate, we really appreciated their service. Very noticeable that the staff were very well trained as they made us feel so comfortable, but they were never over the top and gave us space as well. We stayed in the suite, had two bedrooms and two baths, was definitely more space than we needed as a couple but it was certainly a great place to stay. Collapse

Stayed in the 1-bedroom suite, which is convenient as we did our own laundry and used the dining facilities for take away food. We were made aware of the gym and spa being non-operational on arrival (not that we were going to use them) and recommendations of the restaurants sharing the hotel building. The suite is well sized and comfortable. I had trouble with the air condition twice for which the maintenance was promptly sent, but still it did create discomfort. The TV also had issues which was promptly replaced. The shower was also not great (blocked pores), although we did not complain so no action was taken. Since during our visit Cape Town was facing acute water shortage, there were friendly reminders everywhere about limiting water use. The staff are very friendly and the service was excellent. I won't count this as a -star hotel (comparing with Asia and Middle-East), but I will not get too hung up on that. Good location and walking distance to the waterfront. Collapse

My reservation clearly states that this booking was a very special gift to my father and I needed everything to go smoothly but instead I was left embarrassed but the hotels incompetence. 1.Overcharge – receptionist could not explain why the rate on the confirmation letter they sent me was different to the one on their system. Instead of correcting their mistake immediately, she told me to wait until Monday so that someone in reservations could speak to me which I refused. After much debate she called her Rooms Division Manager, who then refunded me. 2.We requested for someone to please assist us with their dish washing machine in the room, No one bothered to come. 3.We requested for a knife to be sent up to our room, 20 minutes later we had to call again to remind them. 4.The gym was non operational. This was not highlighted on the website nor mentioned on the confirmation letter sent to me. We were offered virgin active, 5 minute drive from the hotel however the reception team forgot to inform the gym that we were coming , the driver just dropped us off without directing us where to go and when we finally found reception they had no idea who we were. They had to contact the hotel, 30-40 minutes of our time wasted. 5.We ordered room service from the restaurant, beef fillet, salad and chicken wrap, the order took an hour and 15 minutes to arrive. When we called to follow up, the cheeky receptionist asked me what I had ordered and I repeated my order to her, she told me the fillet was taking long to make ( clearly evident as it was overcooked and dry) 6.We were 5 people in the 2 bedroom suite, 1 extra bed which we paid R550.00 per night but housekeeping decided to provide only 3 bath towels instead of 5. 7.No turn down! Instead water and fudge was placed in the living room next to the tv, very strange, lazy and pathetic for a “luxury 5 star hotel” and toilet paper was not replaced in the room with twin beds. 8.When o requested to speak with the general manager to voice these concerns, they told me he was in a meeting. They instead made me speak with the Housekeeping Manger who failed to provide me with feedback and instead thought it was a good idea to place Appletiser and chocolate in my room . 9.On the day of my departure I was again inconvenienced, the receptionist told me I owed them “tourism levy” I then informed her I paid everything on arrival. 10.I told the receptionist that no one had gotten back to me regarding my concerns and that is the only time they called the general manager to speak with me and instead of bringing solutions, I had to repeat myself all over again! Absolutely ridiculous. I had to listen to him go on about how it was just his second day on the job, and how these “minor things” I complained about should have not happened. He requested my business card, which I gave him. He promised to get back to me (I checked out on the 5th of September, today is the 14th of September and still no email or phone call from the general manager or hotel) I did not receive the luxury service I was promised and paid for. I was ignored and embarrassed in front of my entire family. To say I am disappointed is an understatement! I will be taking my complaints further to prevent another guest from being treated unfairly and being ripped off. Collapse

Not deserve a 5 star rating. Ran out of hot water when the second person tried to take a shower. The maid stole medicine out of my toilette bag.
