Yes folks thats me all over, booked wrong hotel. Arrived at Club Marthas as I told the coach driver, I guess he should have looked at the booking form as I obviously didn't. Reception kindly pointed out I was at the wrong hotel and ordered a taxi for me. It was about 2 km away and cost 7.50 euros. It could have been a disaster as I hate being miles away from the shops as I always do self catering. Luckily it was 2minutes away from lovely cove and beach and among all the shops. At this point I 'll tell you I'm a 63 yr old female and travelling alone as I always do. Reception was lovely knew who I was straight away. The place was full of levels steps up and down , absolutely useless for wheelchairs or problems with walking. Ivork4 mentioned he was put in the Dark hole of Calcutta and across from where I was, looked like where he was talking about . I did wonder when I looked at them. Mine was 503 and I loved it , but I'm a bit of an old hippy so the plants cascading down and the little garden bits was fairy glen like ! The apartments are not luxurious in any way , the bed was comfortable though. Had a microwave kettle and toaster, which is unusual for cheaper apartments. Shower was a bit worn but very powerful and loads of hot water. Had TV but that was extra. I paid for Wifi and watched that. Large TV in bar area where they served a fry up for 5 euros. I don't eat out as everything is done on a shoe string. Nothing is a cheap as chips as it used to be in Spain even buying your own food is not cheap. There was a violent storm that night and I woke to see nothing. Total blackness and a power cut. It was a bit scary being on my own and not knowing the place . Grabbed my mobile phone and peered around , but soon went back to sleep.Power cut only lasted an hour or so.I really enjoyed staying here , being so close to everything makes such a difference when you are lugging bottles of water around ! We have just returned from a fantastic holiday here. Admittedly this is not a 5 star, but what it lacks it makes up by the fantastic staff. Anthony and carmen are fantastic on reception and go out of their way to help in any way. Unfortunately I was ill ( I suffer with epilepsy) whilst here and they went above and beyond to help myself and family. Pillie & Assis ( probably spelt wrong ) run the outside bar & food area. Food is fantastic, great service and very well priced. Always smiling. Our apartments were basic but very clean. Sheets and towels changed every 2 days. All pool areas are kept beautiful. Thanks again to all... The Wagstaff family xx Collapse

My husband and I stayed here last month we had room 406 and it wasn't that bad , I had read the reviews after we booked and I was dreading it . The entrance looks very old fashioned, at reception the English lad offered us an apartment on the upper level and it was very spacious a bit dated but it was very clean . We never saw any rats or cockroach at all . We had a bit of a laugh with the staff as they thought my husband was the new owner and we did hear the staff talking about putting lights in the pool etc. Etc. So maybe the new owner is going to modernise this hotel . The location is perfect step out the door and there is bars shops restaurants every thing you need so don't worry just enjoy it . Collapse

However, the room smelt of sewage and we had to leave after 2 days at a cost of our stay here of £468 for 2 nights. Apparently we had been 'upgraded' too. Absolutely terrible. Collapse

We are a family with 2 children aged 15 months and 3 ½ years. On Arrival to Cala D’or we found the hotel and on first appearance it looked closed. Parking was an issue and we ended up a couple of streets away as it was a busy Saturday in Cala D’or. There is nowhere to stop to drop stuff off outside the hotel. The reception area looks tired, there is a dark Bar/lounge area which looks like it never gets used, some quirky statues, information about excursion leaflets and a safety deposit box room. We were greeted by Anthony who was very helpful and gave us the keys to room 405 and showed us up the ramps round the corner to the Room. The Dungeon/Room which was a ground floor 2 bed apartment with a single window to the front, it has a number of issues. No Daylight, cold water to the kitchen cutting out, the Shower switching from boiling hot to cold, the smell of sewers coming from the bathroom filling the entire apartment as there obviously a problem and no air circulation. There was noise and light from the room above in the main bedroom from the curtained air shaft for most of the night, no kettle or toaster, air con unit only in the main lounge, TV and the small overgrown terraced area leading onto the children’s pool. The following morning we requested to be moved as 2 weeks in this room was not going to work. We were shown 506 which was a first floor 2 bed apartment on the other side of the complex, there was a secure balcony with view of some other apartments and the table tennis table, over bath shower, hot and cold water, air con unit in children’s bedroom, kettle, toaster, kitchenette and Daylight (windows and free air in all rooms)! We took the plunge and moved. However the bath was rusty and the wall in the main bedroom between apartments 506 and 505 is made only of tissue paper, which made for an interesting morning when the couple from Blackburn in the next room decided to have a full scale/volume verbal debate at 7am….Every day! There was a benefit of this though as we found out that there was wine available in the local shop for 3 Euros, which was needed to overcome the fore mentioned issue. The smoke from the balcony below did become an annoyance. The roof leaked in the rain but it was heavy so to be expected to be honest. The Hotel breakfast was a nice surprise…every morning some slight variation on a cooked breakfast with nice coffee, juice, fruit, pastries, toast, jam and the chap serving was great. The maid service was every 3 days, wit Collapse
