We went as a couple for a cheap getaway with some couple friends of ours. We were after a good location to get into marco polo square and the main routes around venice. This hotel allowed us to do just this but not break the bank. Within less than 10 mins walk we were there. We stopped at the Arsenale boat terminal and walked two mins to hotel. We were met in the hotel reception by a friendly man who spoke good English. After being shown to our room we went to explore. There's a co'op about 100m left of the hotel and a couple of good little bars to that side too. Room was clean and comfy with good facilities. Shower toilet and bday all clean and fine. Breakfast was basic but enough to do what it needed. The only thing i would say is that the rooms were a bit warm and not a lot of ventilation without opening the windows wide (November) This hotel was booked to allow us to have a nice cheap break away and not be luxurious. It was a good location and ticked the boxes. Thanks for a great stay! We would book again. Collapse
If you are not that fussy about where you stay then this is perfect!

Arriving... at the hotel was easy as its right by Arsenale boat stop, we were greeted at reception by a lovely man who was very polite and quickly checked us in. It took us over an hour by boat from the airport so upon arrival, we were freezing but the hotel did not dissapoint and was very warm, as was the welcome. We were taken up the tiny lift by another lovely man who showed us to our room. The room... was basic but had everything you would need for a short stay, TV, mini bar/fridge, hairdryer, wardrobe, shampoo and conditioner etc. There is a cheap shop about 3 mins walk away if you forget anything. I did notice there was no iron but I didn't really plan on going to Venice to iron the entire contents of my bag so that was fine. Oh and no kettle unfortunately. There was an air conditioner in the room but there was no way we needed it November. Room decor could probably do with some updating, lots of curtains and Italian tassels which made it a bit dusty and lots of strange noises of gushing water in the morning. The bathroom was fine, our room didn't have a bath but did have a shower cubicle and did exactly what a shower should do. The view from the room was just of other buildings but I am sure the description said "canal view" when I booked?! I can only assume they mean the "roof terrace" ... so we checked it out and it is basically just stairs to the roof and it has railings around it with a couple of tables and chairs (really nothing fancy at all) the lights didn't come on but I'm guessing that's probably because they thought nobody would be mad enough to sit out on the roof in November....? We did and yes, you kind of get a canal view if you step over the pipes and look but certainly not from our room as it is completely separate. Free WiFi was great! The breakfast... Was very basic, just cereal, fruit, yogurt, cold meat, cheese along with a small juice and coffee machine. As I said it is very basic so don't go expecting anything cooked. I didn't really want to mention it but there were ants on our table, apart from that it was ok. We went for this hotel because we had bagged cheap flights and wanted to find a cheap hotel to go with it. It seems you certainly get what you pay for in Venice and I think this was fair. If you want a fancy place to stay then this is not for you but if accommodation is not the priority and you want to just explore the city on a budget then this is great! It is in a great location for that and St Marco square is only round the corner (over about 5 bridges)... ha! Wear good comfortable shoes and your feet will thank you. Eating out... We found this to be really difficult which we weren't expecting as it's a city... we were going past restaurants and then looking them up on TripAdvisor and some of them had the worst reviews I have ever seen. We thought it must just be a one off but the bad reviews kept coming! We got to a point where we picked a restaurant based on its reviews and then found out how to get there (Venice is like a maze)!! Make sure you have mobile data or else your could easily get lost. Basically do you research or risk it. Collapse

This hotel is about a 10-15 walk from St. Mark's Square - the location of the hotel is on a quiet, wide street that has several restaurants and is right on the lagoon. Great views when you step outside! It is easily accessible from where the water taxi will drop you off - there are two bridges to go over, but these two foot bridges had planks over them so it made it easy to cross with rolling luggage. The hotel sped up the cleaning of the our room the day we arrived so that we could check in early, which we very much appreciated. Collapse

We stayed here 3 nights and the location is just perfect! Right on the grand canal. A 5-10 minute walk from the main attractions and a wide range of restaurants on your door step! The staff are friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The hotel also has its own private dock and its cost €110 to the airport. If you come by water bus then you need to get off at Arsenale and its a few minutes walk away from the hotel. The breakfast room has about 8 tables. You have to get there early if you want a table. The breakfast provided is basic and a small selection of bread, cheeses & cereals. Our room had an amazing view of the grand canal. The room was a standard size. The bathroom, yes it's s little bit ridiculous how small it' is. But it's clean and the room is comfortable. On arrival we only had one pillow each but requested 2 more which they sent to the room. Two negatives for me was firstly, house keeping knocked on our door midday and asked what time we would leave. When we said we would be gone in an about half hour they said "no that's too late we wouldn't be able to have the room cleaned. It was either now or tomorrow." Which is definitely a new thing for me! If I had known there was a cut off time for housekeeping we would have left earlier. Never mind. Secondly the wifi is rubbish. When I mentioned this to reception she informed me that the wifi connection wasn't brilliant towards the back of the hotel and its best in the breakfast area!! Which obviously is no good!!! The best thing about this hotel is the location. I would recommend this hotel to friend/family. Collapse
