Just got back from a week at The Oasis Club. We found the hotel very good. I really don't know what people expect from a 2 star hotel. The food seemed to cater for everyone and we never had a meal that you could say was awful. The Veg was over cooked for my liking but they do have to cater for the masses and I understand that. Overall I really don't think you can complain. The rooms are quite small and the only thing that lets them down is not having air con as we all found it difficult to sleep. The cleaners were very good and the staff very pleasant. The atmosphere was very friendly with a mix of young, old, gay and straight. The location was good too. You could walk about or jump in a taxi as there was a taxi rank outside the hotel and bus stop just at the end of the road. I would recommend this hotel to anybody. The only negatives are no air con and the evening entertainment is non existent !!!! As long as your not expecting 5 star for a 2 star price you shouldn't be disappointed. Collapse

We went in May and it was Gay Pride Weekend. Do not go in May if you are a family or couples. We are broad minded but you would not believe what went on!!! The hotel didn't do anything about the antics that were going on and security just laughed. The holiday co - Sunshine advised we should have known the festival was on. The food was more Miss than hit. The cleaners and Alfred did an amazing job!!! Collapse
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ESPECIALLY FOR YOUNG COUPLES/GROUPS!!

We had a week stay at Maspalomas Oasis Club from 9th-16th May. We originally booked for a different hotel but got changed to this one a couple of months prior unfortunatley for us. Rooms where VERY basic but that was to be expected. Food was awful! I have stayed all inclusive a few times so I understand that the food is generally repetitive but this was taken to another level. All 5 of us lived off chips for the duration of our stay. The staff where rude with the exception of the cleaners but we noticed a couple of days in that it was particularly directed to the younger groups that were there celebrating gay pride. We had a noise complaint on the first night and was forced to sign a contract to say that we have had our final warning and if we received one more we would be evicted (little bit extreme considering we quietened down right away) We spoke to a couple more groups staying at the hotel that have said they had been receiving the same treatment from staff. Even a few older people and families told us that they have noticed the clear divide. The only positives about the hotel is the location and the other guests. It was just far enough from the yumbo to have a nice relaxing pool day without too much mayhem and about a 20 minute walk from the beach. As a whole we have been very disappointed with our stay. We had specifically chosen a hotel that was gay friendly but unfortunatley ended up being transferred to Maspalomas oasis club. Even though this is a budget hotel I would not stay again and would advise friends and family to AVOID at all costs! Collapse

Stayed at Maspalomas Oasis Club for one week, 02/05/17 Hotel is clean, basic and all you need for a break in the sun! Average 24c, got rained off the beach one day but rain only lasted a couple of hours No kettle in room, so I opted to bring a travel kettle with us. no air con but because of the time of year we didn't need it, we also got a nice breeze on balcony.. I emailed the hotel and requested a first floor apartment, glad I did as the ground floor apartment outside seating areas are mainly shaded and directly onto the pool area. In my opinion... Food isn't great for children or vegetarians, salads, chips and plain pasta.. Food was ok.. My friend who does eat meat, wasn't too impressed either with some choices. You won't go hungry. Morning snacks, hot dogs and meat patties, which I assume were meant to be burgers. Afternoon snacks a tray of cakes. Breakfast was by far the best meal for me.. although one evening there was a vegetarian lasagne which was delicious! We never had to clear our own places in the restaurant.. as I read from other reviews. The entertainment is pretty meh! Actually wouldn't really call it entertainment, I've posted a photo of entertainment schedule... saying that it's just lovely to be able to sit outside in the evenings and mix with other guests too, bar closed sharp @ 11pm! Sunbeds were always available by the pool. Seldom had to wait to be served at the bar. Staff are very friendly. Nearby beach is beautiful, easy 20 min walk or get the free bus, 7.50 euro for two beds and a parasol, beach front is very quiet in the evenings.. Ingles is only a taxi journey away, not too far, Yumbo centre was buzzing! On the Friday of our stay we went on a trip to Puerto Rico, then the boat to Puerto Morgan, both stunning places and there was a market on in Morgan, then bus back to hotel.. was worth the 25 euro. There is a small supermarket across the road from the hotel, about 5 min walk, it's close at 8pm each evening. Check out time is 12, so we spent the day at the pool, you're still able to use restaurant and bar. We were allowed to use a vacant room to shower prior to our departure. Nice budget hotel, worth the money we paid! Collapse
