I would like to thank Luis,Paco and all of the staff for being so friendly and helpful. I used the DK Eyewitness Travel Top 10 Gran Canaria book and managed to see most of the island sights. I found the Canarian people helpful and very proud of their beautyful island. Collapse

I have worked in the travel industry since 1995 so I obviously take reviews on here with a pinch of salt, but I do have to say I was slightly apprehensive about staying here. How wrong was I!?!?! Such a fantastic set of apartments. We stayed in apartment 18, which was close to reception and the pool. The apartment was one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in and fully equipped. We had every type of cooking utensil you can think of and a microwave. The cleaner had even left us a new scouring pad, t-towel and wash cloth! When she realised we had no washing up liquid she even left us some the next day! Pool area is large and again very clean. There was also a lifeguard on duty, which again I have never seen at a 2* property. Plenty of sunbeds and no need for that 6am rush to get a bed like in other places I've stayed. We upgraded to half board for one day to see what the food was like and to be honest it wasn't brilliant but there are plenty of places to eat in playa del ingles. Yes it is a distance from anything but I actually liked that. It was only €3.50-5 in a taxi to get anywhere. Would rather pay that than stay in playa del ingles! Definitely will return! Collapse

First of all the good points-our accommodation was clean but basic, the grounds & pool area are very well maintained, very clean pool with plenty of sun loungers very relaxing as there were not too many children running around. Now for the not so good points- The complex is miles from any where, but looking on a map you may think it's closer to the main areas than it actually is, it's good that Taxi's are a fairly reasonable price just as well or you will be walking miles, the complex offers a Bus service to the beach at Maspalomas (1.50 Euro each) we noticed that the one & only time we used this bus that other passengers getting on at different complexes got to travel free of charge because they had a free bus service included with their accommodation, i think free bus should be available from Duna Golf. We stayed here for 2 weeks & made the big mistake of going half board, the first morning was a total joke, food items had run-out & guests were hanging waiting for replenishment of items, not that there was a great choice in the first place. The surprising thing for me was the fact that the staff did nothing about the flies that were crawling all over the food, it really was off-putting. Evening meal was very poor again- very limited choice & when the food is placed on the buffet it just sits there, maybe for 2 hours, we only ever noticed once items being replenished & that was the chips! One thing for sure if you decide to stay here you will have a very quiet stay, the entertainment is just once a week, the Bar closes at 10pm every night & all the TV is either Spanish or German or Dutch, so take a good book with you or go to the Yumbo Centre in Playa-Del E. This is a value for money accommodation and it does only have two star rating, so I am not really sure why anyone would have particularly high expectations of it. For the price though, it is, actually spot on. Yes, the bungalows are basic and could do with a touch up, but were clean and overall pleasant. The complex is lovely and pool area is fantastic, including the pool itself. The kettle or microwave are not provided as a standard package, but if you need one to warm your ready meals, then reception will provide one. We used ours once, because, frankly, cooking on the hob, which is excellent quality is much nicer anyway. We also made our tea in the coffee maker, which can boil water just as fast as the kettle. We do not drink coffee at all, so removing the filter from the maker and giving it a nice scrub before use, plus flushing it out a couple of times, ensured we get nice boiled water for morning tea every time. Alternatively, the reception has portable water heaters, but we didn't need one, so no idea how good these are. Food in the restaurant is of average quality, so we didn't frequent it. The goods in the supermarket within the complex are roughly double the price, so we went to Spar, which is about half a mile away. The beaches, Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles, are about 4km away and we walked, but there are also buses and taxis you can take. I personally enjoyed the walks far more. Yes, the cleaner is terrible! I once caught her watching tv in our bungalow instead of cleaning and she put the dirty bathroom mat on top of our bathroom sink while sweeping the floor. Also, she removed some of the trash from the bins and put it on the table by the TV, it was an empty egg carton, not sure what the purpose of it was, but I will be sure to make a complaint about her to the management when we leave. In the meantime, we just wipe all the used surfaces with a disinfecting cloth as the cleaner cannot be trusted. The rest of the staff are brilliant, speak good English, and are helpful. Overall, if you are looking for basic accommodation that is nice enough, peaceful and cheap, you should definitely consider these bungalows. Do not expect luxury or fabulous food on the premises though. If you love hanging by the pool, here it is great and there is never a shortage of loungers. Collapse

This has to be the worst place I ever stayed in my life! Awful rude staff! Awful breakfast and food stormed out of restaurant twice not just because of the food but the staff again! You have to hire the very basic of basic things! It's hard to get taxis which for Gran Canaria is never really an issue! My god though what a bloody awful place go there at your peril!!! How they charge what they charge is a mystery to me really!!! Collapse
