Great spot for a family get away! Close to all major attractions, shopping and restaurants. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was amazing! We really enjoyed our stay!

We chose the Buena Vista Suites because we had “points” for it, so the price was right. We had stayed next door at the sister hotel a couple of times and thought we’d give BVS a try for a 4-night stay in Orlando. Having two grown teens, we were enticed by the suite which has two queens and a separate living room with pullout sofa. We really appreciated the spaciousness of the room. The room and bedding were clean, but the hotel needs some TLC, it’s a little worn around the edges. We did have an ant problem with doughnuts left on the desk for the day, which wasn’t too appealing. Our room was on the front of the hotel which was right on the busy highway and overlooked the CVS sign across the street. I was pleasantly surprised that you couldn’t hear much street noise, but if you’re a light sleeper ask for a room on the back. There is a free breakfast buffet with all the basics, nothing special—same thing every day. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub which also has a convenient snack bar. Overall, the hotel was fine for a place to sleep while visiting the parks all day-we weren’t in the room much. However, if you are looking for a “wow”, resort experience, this is not the place—stay next door at the Caribe Royale. Collapse

My daughter and I stayed at the Buena Vista Suites for 6 days in March 2018. The staff at the front desk were truly amazing and accommodating. Two employees who really made my visit an incredible experience were Bradley and Chuck at guest services. After having a series of issues with airlines, wrong ticket purchase, and a small issue with our first room, they listened, helped as much as they could, and really turned my negative issues around. I will only recommend this hotel. Cant wait to go back!! Thank you for the great experience! The rooms were also very well appointed, but the staff made the stay memorable! Collapse

My husband and I are finishing up a 6 night stay, which, after reading so many of the reviews seems like a really long time. Upon check in, the clerk handed me a voucher for a "Welcome Gift" and nodded toward the counter on the other side of the lobby. I was not going to fall for that trick again and told Michael that if this was regarding a timeshare pitch I did not want it. He smiled and promptly took the voucher out of my hand and apologized, stating "It's my job." Other than that, check in was OK. Our room was on the second floor and the first thing I noticed was the dirty hallway and chewed up doors of all the rooms I passed on the way to our room. The first room seemed larger than most "suite style" hotels I've stayed. There was a large desk placed at an awkward angle in the corner, but no desk chair. Everything was really dark. The king size bed was comfortable. The walls were scuffed up quite a bit and there were only 4 hangers in the closet. The bathroom was pretty clean except for the crud around the jets in the shower/tub. As some may know from my other reviews, I try not to look around while taking a shower for fear I will want to run screaming from what I see, but this time I opened one eye and saw what may have been a few spots of mold on the wall "grout." There was a really wet spot on the bedroom rug which did not smell, but we avoided anyway. The hotel provides glass cups and coffee cups, which I will never use after watching a few horrifying hidden camera videos of housekeeping staff rinsing and reusing on youtube. The ice bucket was not very clean, but there was a plastic bag left for a liner. We have gone the whole week now without a replacement. The maid service varied from day to day, the best of which was not great. We left the room each day by 10 or 11 AM and most days did not return until 4 PM and most times the room was not yet cleaned. Today our room was skipped altogether. Upon check in, my husband had to get on a business conference call, so I decided to check out the pool area. The sign by the lobby elevators says to access the pool, take the elevator to the 2nd floor and then the stairs down. I walked to the end of the hallway on the 2nd floor entered the staircase and descended and when I got to the bottom there was what looked to be an old bar, some cleaning equipment and trash, and a sign with an arrow pointing to an exit door stating "to pool and whirlpool." I pushed open the door and ended up back in the lobby. I decided that I must have missed something and walked to the elevator and started over, got out on the 2nd floor, walked to the stairs, down one flight and ended up back in the lobby. I was convinced I hit the Twilight Zone when I noticed a few others making the same loop. Finally another guest let us know that we needed to cross the lobby and exit the front of the building through the restaurant patio and around to the side to get to the pool gate. The pool area was a little smaller than I expected, but had plenty of lounges. The pool was not very clean, had some floating leaves and dirt and sand on the bottom. We spent a couple of hours by the pool on two different mornings and pretty much had the place to ourselves. The bottom of the hot tub was full of sand, which was odd because we are not near a beach. As I rarely swim in public pools and never dip in a public hot tub, these things really did not matter to me. We lounged around relaxing to the sound of the busy highway while breathing in the bus fumes. Having had the hotel's "full hot breakfast" for a week, I can say without regret that I will never partake in hotel kitchen scrambled eggs again. I noticed people taking big stacks of toast back to their tables and can understand why. There is some cereal for the kids and oatmeal. The only fresh fruit I saw were some cut up oranges. The rest seemed canned or jarred. There was a small selection of mini donuts and muffins. I want to describe the coffee as a big joke, but the shot-glass-size Styrofoam cups made it a really ridiculous joke - hands down the worst coffee ever. I can only guess that after having to throw away large, undrunk cups of coffee from every table that management opted for the small cups to make cleanup easier. The ice machine worked but the vending machine for soft drinks was sold out of everything and never replenished for the entire week. Thankfully there is a 7-Eleven and CVS across the street. I am returning to Orlando next month and booked another hotel. Collapse

I'm writing this review because I was worried sick about this hotel before our arrival because of some of the other reviews here. My family of four stayed in this hotel from March 3-10, 2018. We found the rooms to be clean and the rooms quiet - the only noise we heard was occasional sounds from people walking through the hallway to their rooms. The daily free hot breakfast was convenient and helped save money. Bring money to tip the staff We made good use of the daily shuttles to and from Disney World and found it to be convenient. Bring money to tip the drivers. Michael from Maingate transportation is a great driver and really cares about his job. If you want to be sure of a seat, walk over to Caribe Royale to catch the bus. The pool is a reasonable size, was clean and was quiet the week we were there - most times we were the only people at it. If you want to access the much fancier Caribe pool, we saw nothing that would stop anyone from doing so (though we did not do this). We also enjoyed a couple of meals at the Italian restaurant in the hotel - it was tasty, fast and we found it to be priced comparably to what we would pay at many other restaurants (not cheap, but not out of line). The pizza restaurant is okay for a family looking to feed a couple of kids at the end of a long day - not my favourite ever, but okay. The only thing I would change would be to have a crosswalk to the CVS in the strip mall across the street - it's pretty difficult to get across six lanes of traffic to access the store and we didn't find a crosswalk anywhere nearby. You could walk to another drugstore on the same side of the street, but it's a bit of a hike and would require some creative orienteering over about a 15-minute walk. We have been to Orlando many times and stayed in many different accommodations and this was among the cleanest and most convenient - it was a nice change not bothering with a car, but this would be harder for guests not planning on visiting Disney. I travel regularly for work and stay in a variety of hotels. Nothing truly negative stood out about this hotel for me. It was less expensive to stay here than to stay at the Caribe next door after resort fees and the one bedroom suites are virtually identical from what I can tell. Collapse
