Stayed at this hotel whilst attending a conference at the venue. The room was clean and comfortable, although very noisy (main road surrounding and apparently not double glazed) hence restless sleep. Breakfast was badly organised, most of the delegates were staying, and it was expensive, we found ourselves having to queue for nearly 20 minutes to be allocated a table, why we couldn't just choose food and find our own seat I do not know, only one member of staff organising....even when delay became more than obvious she couldn't or wouldn't get help. Huge tv in the room which gave access to your bill....completely inaccurate, which made it necessary to queue to check out to ensure we weren't overcharged! When questioned about the variations the response was a casual 'someone must have entered it wrongly'......not good enough! To cap it all NO FREE WIFI in the rooms....seriously?! It's 2017!!!! Generally expected more from a Marriott hotel! Horrible views....Bristol appeared derelict from hotel windows, not a great ad for the city. Collapse

We stayed here one night prior to our flight from Bristol to Ireland. Hotel was very nice. Room was clean with good amenities. Our room on 10th floor had nice view of city. Hotel is close to shopping and dining area. Public car park next door.

We stayed here last weekend to take my daughter to University. Obviously this was a busy weekend with the Bristol half marathon taking place and the new Undergraduates moving into the University. However, if I am paying £250.00 for a room for one night I would expect a better room and not necessarily to be on the top floor. When you arrive you will need to park in the NCP next door which costs an additional £17.00 per day. I always find this very annoying when hotels cant do a deal with the car park companies and charge a sensible amount. But I suppose they have a captive audience! Our welcome at reception was very good. We then went all the way up to the tenth floor (stopping on almost every other floor) to be greeted with a very damp smell in the corridor. Our room was clean but very dated and tired. The room was in desperate need of decoration and refurbishment. It was a warm afternoon and we were unable to adjust the air conditioning and although there was a window we could not move it to let a little air in. In the evening after dinner we tried to have a drink in the bar but most of the tables were taken up by some drunken party goers who had been in the outside Urban bar all evening so we had to sit in the lift lobby. The bar staff were a little slow to serve and some of the beer had run out. Our room was noisy during the night firstly due to a loud hum which we could not identify and secondly because we couldn't close the window so got all of the outside noises. Breakfast was very slow. We stood in the queue for 30 minutes waiting for a table to become available. Overall, I was very disappointed with our say especially considering how much the room cost. Collapse
A lively hotel but a nice quiet room

We stayed here for one night over the Bank Holiday weekend and it was really busy as they had an all day roof party from 12 - 9pm. The parking is in the next door NCP so it was pretty easy and the hotel is really well located with the park, river and shops all a couple of minutes from the front door. Our room had two double beds in it and was big and clean with tea and coffee making facilities. I was worried it would be very noisy as the hotel was so busy and we had to walk over a man lying on the corridor floor on the way to our room - possibly a reveller from the party - but when we came out a member of staff was speaking to him and we didn't witness any other drunken guests. Anyway, we weren't disturbed overnight and slept fairly well. The bathroom had really good products which is a nice touch and would ake me lean toward booking a Marriott hotel again. It makes a difference to have separate shampoo and conditioner as well as a nice shower gel and hand wash. The swimming pool was enjoyed by the kid and my other half and they went early on the Bank Holiday Monday morning before breakfast and they were really glad they went as it was pretty quiet. Breakfast was another good one! A fine selection of croissants, Pan au chocolat, rolls, cereals and a cooked choice. The swimmers had cooked and I enjoyed croissants. It was very busy and there were signs in the lifts to let guests know that breakfast would be served for longer hours as they expected a lot of guests of the weekend. There was a short wait for a table but the staff were polite and no-one was grumpy or stressed. Check out was quick and the car park was £17 but the car could be left in it up til midnight so good to have the day to explore Bristol. Collapse
