Paid a lot of money hoping for a lovely plush hotel. Hotel was nice and clean but disappointed. Room very small describe as basic. When questioned at reception the lady was dismissive, unhelpful and rude. Hotel location main road, Kentucky and McDonalds in an ugly spot. Breakfast cold every morning didn't even go in for evening meal, no cutlery on the table so I took the cutlery that was available from the main area to be rudely told I could not have that cutlery as it was for evening meaI andto put it back to be marched across the dining room like a naughty child in front of everyone to point where it should be taken from. Embarrasing. Before 8.00 am there was a massive queue for sun bed I joined up the 3rd flight of stairs. All my life I have never had to run or Q up stairs for a sunbed not going to start now. Old Town/beaches to far away to walk for my partner with knee problems caught taxis everywhere. On politely asking reception call a taxi Fernandez couldn't even look at you. Very rude where did manners go?Asked rep to move hotels, hotel refused to refund the difference so downgraded our package .enjoyed our holiday as we are not the type of people to dwell on something made the most of an expensive/disappointing situation . If we had paid a lot less would not have felt so strongly about writing this review. You live and learn won't go back the customer does not seem to matter. Collapse

What a lovely hotel... we went self catering and found the rooms well equipped, very spacious and spotlessly clean and tidy thanks to the excellent polite and friendly cleaning staff. The pool although cold despite the very hot weather was great and wasn't too deep for the kids ( 1.5metres at the deep end ) the only negative was the usual sun bed dash every morning at 8am...but if you cant beat them join them... it was all good natured.(watching from the balcony was very amusing!). We didn't use any other leisure facilities but there was a games room, indoor pool, squash and tennis courts all well maintained. We stayed in room 133 which was right above the cake shop that stayed open until midnight and could get a little noisy with chatter. Also the main bedroom was on the road side which took some getting use to.. especially if you are a light sleeper. Needs triple glazing at least. The Hotel was in a good location with a large supermarket right next door stocking everything you could possibly need, the road train stopped very close to the hotel and we cant forget the cake shop!!!! As we were there in high season we didn't go to the STRIP at night, I personally don't recommend it for children but the Old town a 10 min walk away was great with lots to do.. its lively but more aimed at families with plenty of bars, restaurants, live music, street entertainers ( watch out for the clown) and entertainment in the main square. I can recommend 3 great places to eat... A Taberna ( fish is amazing) ..Peccati di gola (best pizza and pasta in Albufeira)... and our favourite O Alentejano Come ( traditional food and great value for money). The beach .. again a 10 mins walk away is beautiful but the Atlantic is very cold.. yes even colder than the pool! Overall a great holiday in a great Hotel. Collapse

The Brisa Sol hotel staff were very welcoming when we arrived. We were slightly early to check in but they allowed us to use the luggage room so we could go and get some lunch, and we returned an hour later to check in. The room (026) was very clean and freshly painted, the bathroom looked like it had recently been refurbished and was spotless, and there was a cute little kitchen area with all you could need for a self catering holiday. The only thing missing was washing up liquid and sponges. We used a few dishes during our stay and the maids did not wash them up. We were also unable to without cleaning products so had to buy them from the supermarket. Minor fault, but an expense that we could have avoided. The air con worked wonderfully in the room (and *tip* when we went out, a supermarket club card in the slot kept the air con on during the day so we returned to a cool room after a hot day in the sun!) The hotel is situated between the new town and the old town, both of which are walkable so it gives you plenty to do in the evenings. We spent our days around the pool which was lovely, and the pool bar serves a great menu all of which is reasonably priced. (I pretty much ate the chicken sandwich and a banana milkshake every day!!) Staff were super friendly and helpful at all times. The supermarket and a little mall is next to the hotel and sells everything you could possibly wish for. On the other side of the hotel is what I can only describe as 'pure heaven'. The Riviera patisserie. A small place with more cakes and pastries than you could ever imagine! choosing just one proved to be a big problem, so make sure you have loads like we did! They are not expensive and taste delicious! We used to get a few on the walk back to the hotel after an evening in the old town, and take them to our room, but you can eat in, and they are open until after midnight. All in all, this hotel was great and had everything we wished for. Will definitely return again. Collapse

Stayed here beginning of July with my boyfriend. We paid extra for a pool view room and this was massive and more than happy with it, the cleaning lady did a fantastic job and was so nice, if she knocked and we were still in she came back later if we came back and she was there not a problem. The pool is great, you get the usual sun bed reserving but we always found a bed in a decent spot without needing to do it. We were self catering so can't comment on the food, the odd snack we had by the pool at lunch time was nice enough. The cake shop next door is amazing we had lunch there a few days and coffee and cake. It's a good location. The only thing that lets this hotel down is having to pay for the wifi and the late check out. I understand the hotel was full but when we enquired about keeping our room (at a charge) as we didn't fly home till 8pm they would not give us a yes or no and said ask on the day and surprise surprise on the day it was a definite no. Ok we would make do with the courtesy room but no this 4* hotel didn't offer that facility you could use the indoor pool shower or the shower by the pool in the pool toilets, I asked for a towel and was told no chance so we had to use our pool towels and be careful as when your in the shower the light goes off as its on a stupid timer button and you are left in total darkness and I then dropped all my dry clothes on the wet floor Iv been in many 3* hotels where they will give you a towel and give access to a courtesy room for 15 minutes so surely this shouldn't be a problem for a 4*.
