Having read a few reviews yes there are some comments which would be considered if your thinking of booking ... pool is cold but you can't really be expecting a heated pool. Probably good filtration system which keeps water fresh but slightly cooler. No big issue, once you get in it's fine. Pool view room would def be the best option on the side looking towards the sea as this gets the sun from mid morning to late afternoon. Room facilities are more than sufficient, one minor negative point was that on arrival with a tired 2 year old we had expected a cot to be in the room but had to request this which the hotel staff were quick to sort so no issues. Ate once at pool side bar/snack, v average food prob better going elsewhere. Plenty of sun loungers and quiet enough pool area ... no noise larger louts which was nice. Mostly seemed to be older couples & younger families. Overall great apart hotel in great location (just over 0.5mile to old town) with all facilities required. Collapse

Had a marvelous week here beginning of Sept with my family. As 4 adults we got a 1 bed apartment which no lie was huge! Beautiful sea and pool view with a decent balcony. Kitchenette with hob, microwave, toaster and full size fridge ( no freezer compartment). 2 sofas converted into good sized beds. Bedroom had 2 single beds together which were very comfortable. Big bathroom with bath and over shower which was excellent and always hot water. We stayed half board which we probably wouldn't do again, breakfast was excellent, evening meal was good but lacked imagination, sausages one night? Also repetitive, the same pasta was repeated a couple of nights and we were only there 7 nights! We went out a couple of nights. What food we eat mind was always very nice. I will definitely come back here was a lovely hotel and would recommend it. Collapse

Just got back from a week in Portugal staying at the Brisa Sol we were self catering booking through thomson,Check in was smooth,Room was clean Pros Good location maid service everyday making beds and clean towels if required etc No problems getting a sunbed even around mid day we didnt use the restaurant but by all accounts the food was good lovely coffee shop and large supermarket very close( no need to bring lotions and potions) a little tourist bus which stops right outside takes you to the old town and the strip ( 5euros for an all day ticket) Cons no cupboard storage for food purchased from the supermarket sliverfish in the crockery cupboard 25 euro for the safe 15 refunded deposit and 10 for the use of but however the biggest problem was the pool temperature, this was the coldest pool i have ever used, reminded me of a plunge pool at the sauna,no one stayed more than 5 mins in the pool if at all unless you were on a lilo apart from the small niggles stated above and the pool i would have given a 5*,i may return to albufeira but not to the Brisa sol due to the pool p.s. dont go to the loule saturday gypsy market unless you want to haggle/ have an argument for poor quality tat Collapse

First of all, I want to say that this time was my third time at Brisa Sol and I clearly returned because I was so happy before. I hate to actually give it negative comments but the standards are unfortunately slipping and it isn't what I would expect for a four star hotel. The positives are the cleanliness of the hotel, it is immaculate and you really can not fault the cleaners who not only are very busy, but are also very polite and friendly saying hello when they see you. The location is also a huge plus for me as it is ideally situated in the middle of the old and new towns. The bad points for me this year : 1. When we checked in the staff member was extremely rude to me. We had booked three pool view rooms and he gave me the card for the first one asking if I was Sarah but when he handed it to me it had my dad's name on so I passed it to him. He very rudely said to me 'it doesn't matter whose name is on it I just told you you are in that room'. He shortly realised his mistake and told me that that card was for my dad after all, safe to say I didn't get an apology. He was also very rude to someone else when we were checking in who had asked if he could purchase a safe. I have never encountered any problems with the staff before but this got things off to a bad start! The pool snack bar has also gone very much down hill. You could be sat ages before you were served and a lot of the time I just got up and ordered at the till. The food is also poor quality by partner was served a raw burger not once but twice! Finally, the pool area just needs a little more tlc. There is a lot of rubbish lying around and it clearly isn't as looked after as well as it used to be. For example, I stood in chewing gum one morning when getting on to my subbed. Overall still a very good holiday but room for improvement! Collapse

The room was terrible no patio doors just a small window and a brown door leading to a small area they call a balcony with steps going down and no hand rail disgusting , overlooking the car park were woke between 6 30 and 6 45 in the morning with wagons loading and unloading bottles braking .For the price you pay should not have to be putting up with that .This is our first time in Portugal and will be the last ,I asked to be moved spoke to mario on reception he was very rude he then got his manager to speak to me he was very intimidating with his body language and tone he had me in tears saying no rooms today tomorrow second third or fourth day ,he implied I wanted an upgrade for free their was a lot more of it but that's the short version people was staring he didn't care ,I rang tui in UK to report him then saw Emily the rep the following day she had words with the other reception manager and said put complaint in writing which she did but up to date no received it came home on the 7th June was there for a week .When checking out sent a letter to hotel regarding Mario and JJ the reception rudest person I have ever known but up-to-date had no reply .Now onto the food worst 4star I have ever been to food not warm no choice no replenished very often ,and a health and safety thing with the coffee water and milk being filled up from waiters just using pans filling up we guest are walking about ,never seen any thing like that before and we have been all over the world .The only excellent thing was the weather .The bar staff were polite and it was clean.
