Just back from a short break at this small friendly hotel. It was clean with towels & bedding changed everyday. The self service Breakfast & Dinner had a good range of choice plus plenty of fresh fruit. The Pool is small but the beach is only 15mins walk which passes shops, supermarket & local Bars. The Hotel Brasil is a good valve hotel which is situated in the Old Town in a residential area with a mainly Spanish clientele. Collapse

We stayed in Hotel Brasil on a B&B basis for one week at the end of May. What a find, the hotel is clean and the staff are really welcoming and friendly. There is only one charging socket in the room, but I had read about this in the reviews and bought a travel adaptor with 4 three pronged sockets off Amazon, so no problem there. The air con is free and you get wifi in your room too. The breakfast is perfectly adequate, I'm not really a brekkie person but my partner is and no complaints from him, hot and cold buffet, coffee and toast was great. I could not believe the value in the bars and tapas bars in the old town. One night for dinner we had a bottle of wine between us and 8 tapas for 8 euro, I was actually really full after. I loved the old town and we spent most nights there, we did venture into the madness a couple of nights. Well it would be rude not to!! All in all I would recommend Hotel Brasil to anyone, I think you get much more than your moneys worth with this hotel, but do not go if you are expecting 5 star luxury and then complain. Would I stay here again? Yes definitely, this was my first time in Benidorm my partner has been many times before but never stayed at this end of the resort, he was as impressed as I was. Collapse

Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. We went half board which included wine with your main meal. You can choose between lunch or dinner as your main meal. I am more of a fussy eater than my husband and enjoyed the meals but my husband struggled. Most meat is on the bone which my husband doesn't eat. Staff were friendly. Pool gets the sun on the afternoon. Around 5 mins walk to the beach or the old town. If we were to stay in that part of Benidorm again I would stay in this hotel again but my husband wouldn't. If you are looking for cheap and cheerful with a comfortable bed then this is ideal for you. Collapse

We stayed here last week what can I say you get what you pay for, in this case no we got more a very clean and very friendly and accommodating staff right in the middle of Benidorm, a small pool with no real shallow end but keep pristine and a sun trap in the afternoon, ten minute walk to the beach with tapas bars all around some offer tapa with a beer a good deal, with a fantastic prom to walk along half an hours walk each way and lots to see and do on the way, the beach which is a credit to the people of Benidorm and some madness if you want it later on in the night. All in all we had a ball. Collapse
Avoid, unless you go 'room only'!!!

There are several good things about this hotel, but sadly the bad outweighs the good!! It certainly is one of the cheaper places in Benidorm, the free wi-fi is in all the bedrooms as well as everywhere in the hotel, the towels are changed each day and the air conditioning is free and very effective. The location is good, right in the heart of the old town, but there is little privacy from the noise of the Police Station directly opposite!! We saw several people being unloaded from Police cars in handcuffs!!! When the bus drops you outside Porkys bar, stand with your back to the bar and turn left, head up the hill until you reach the Moderna cafe and turn left onto Calle de Apolo Xl, and the Hotel is directly opposite the Police Station!!! The staff are, on the whole, helpful and courteous, and speak reasonably good English and there is (Spanish) entertainment each night. - there, that's all the good stuff out of the way! Now for the not so good!! There is only one plug to use for charging etc, situated next to one of the beds, this is solved by un-plugging the TV (you wont be watching it unless you are a fluent Spanish speaker, as there is no English language T.V.!!) The hot water system was being updated for one of the days that we stayed, but for the following two nights there was no hot water, very frustrating when you come in from the beach!! The pool looks superb in the Hotel pictures, but it only sees the sun from about 4pm onwards, and then there are only 10 sunloungers for a Hotel that sleeps a lot more than ten, and despite a notice to the contrary, these were often reserved with towels!! The worst thing, by far, about the Hotel Brasil is the dining experience. If you are unlucky enough to arrive after the 8p.m. dinner, you will be sent down to the lower floor dining room, where there is a plate of warm salad, dry rolls and a bottle of tepid water!! Breakfast the next morning does not fare much better, although there is a fair choice, the quality of everything leaves a lot to be desired. If, like us, you do not eat meat, then forget it!! The first night we had dinner, another veggie guest was offered an omlette - when my Husband asked about the veggie option for us, he was taken to the lettuce and the watery green beans!! Even had been meat eaters, the standard of the food was appaling, and it became a sadistic kind of pleasure to watch new arrivals stare in horror at the food and the whole dining experience. When there was a veggie option such as cheese, it was laid on a plate alongside the ham!! It is such a shame that the dreadful food badly lets down this hotel, as it does have a lot going for it, but sadly, in my opinion, unless you are there on a 'room only' basis, it is probably best avoided!!
