I was taken out by my daughters for an afternoon tea here. Had a lovely afternoon. Very pleasant elegant surroundings with white linen and china. Lovely atmosphere, staff were friendly but discreet. The food was delicious and the scones were perfect, slightly crusty on the outside but beautifully soft in the middle with pureed strawberries and clotted cream. We were not rushed and allowed to have endless pots of tea with a fantastic choice. Wonderful and 10 out of 10 for everything! Collapse

We stayed here a weekend spa break. I have to say from the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome. All the staff were friendly and efficient without exception. The facilities are very good and for a hotel, the food exceptional. A special mention to our waiter (Tony/Toby - sorry it was a while ago now) was very knowledgeable about the food and wine menu and very courteous whilst serving us. Collapse

I booked a spa day through handpicked hotels for my mums Birthday. I purchased an afternoon tea spa day with 1 treatment. It wasn’t cheap, but that’s what you expect when you see the “services” they have on offer.. My mum organised the day with the hotel directly. The direction was “turn up after 9am” no further information was given. On the day, Mum called the hotel and told them that we wouldn’t be there until 10.30 as there was heavy snow and we were travelling in from a distance, I was travelling in from Essex and my mum was driving down from Eastbourne in East Sussex. She was told it wasn’t an issue. We turned up at 10.30, walked in and was greeted by a woman at the reception. However when I say greeted, the first thing she said to us was that “you’ve missed your massage, it was at 10am” this was complete news to both me and my mum.. we were then sat down by a different member of staff and told that they couldn’t put us in anywhere else as they were fully booked and all comments would be passed on to the manager who was in the following day. We had a nice day dispite the lack of communication from the hotel/spa and their lack of customer service in communicating this to us when we arrived.. however the next day when we got home (Tuesday) Mum contacted the hotel to be told that actually the manager wasn’t in and would be back Thursday. So I’m not surprised that the staff can’t communiate with the public when the management can’t be clear when they are going to be in or not?! Not only was the manager “not available” but the hotel manager was also not available to raise an issue or concern with. How convieniant.. In all complete honesty this experience was a complete let down. My mum has been suffering with her health and it was something I had booked to treat her with. We went the day before my 30th birthday and quite honestly I wish I hadn’t bothered. I could have had a better day with my mum elsewhere. To top matters off, my mum has complained and Cc’d Management in but surprise surprise has had no response. I’m utterly disgusted with the lack of communication this company provides. Don’t waste your time or money. I’ve had better customer service in Aldi. Collapse

Myself and two friends had afternoon tea . Although having booked a few weeks previously and answered two confirming emails and a phone call the day before we were told on arrival that they had no record of the booking . After 10 minutes we were given a table. The selection of teas were good but service was very slow . Whilst the cakes were nice the sandwiches were very ordinary - fresh but just plain white and brown sliced no special breads or interesting fillings .The scones , jam and cream were lovely but all six were fruit rather than a mix of plain , fruit or cheese. After asking for more tea it turned up promptly but the used pots were not cleared. We werent asked if we wanted to box up the spare cakes so we left them. Whilst ok with a few tweaks it could have been much nicer. Collapse

from the moment we arrived on the Friday evening I was happy, the welcome was warm and informative. Our room (18) was a beautiful suite with the comfy big bed and gorgeous linen. we stayed for 2 nights and dinner was exceptional both nights. Breakfast was a vast selection and was just as good when served in the room as in the restaurant. The spa is clean and basic. Elemis treatments were good. You couldn't fault the staff throughout the hotel, all very kind and helpful, a wonderful break Collapse
