I booked here via spa breaks for my sisters hen weekend there was 12 of us We had a lovely memorable weekend The hotel is lovely location and very pretty grounds , most had a standard room , my sister had an executive room which had a bigger bathroom and small seating area with coffee machine . We ate on the restaurant on two occasions, evening meal was festive menu being party night , the only two small things was the pork shoulder wasn't as described it was more like a meat loaf with vegetables in it and the other was one of the party had the vegetarian option but that's all that was on the plate no potatoes or vegetables just a mountain of aubergine and goats cheese , side veg would be a must with it Breakfast next morning was ok but not the best the waiter was abit short with two of the party, the black pudding was literally cremated bacon and tomato over Cooked The spa is a must and amazing , one of our party was stuck at wrong hotel and no taxis available the lovely receptionist went and got her for us , the spa pool and wet area was clean and really nice The treatments everyone said was great, I opted for the face and body combo I ha Sophie as my therapist she was amazing , her consultation, her pressure in the massage and facial was perfect and she really made me feel relaxed would highly recommend her and the spa We had a lovely weekend just shame some bits of the food wasn't the best , the reception supervisor was very professional too and friendly Would recommend for a relaxing break Collapse

Staff were not helpful, particularly Steven Moore the Spa Manager. We went for a spa day and had taken a day off and as single working mothers these opportunities are very few and far between! We got there at 9.00 am and were told our treatment was at 4.00 pm and when we requested it earlier they said they wouldn't do it!! We asked for a refund and they refused but said they would allow us book another day and that instead of the day finishing at 5.00 pm they would extend it by half an hour to 5.30 being that our treatment ended at 5.00 pm. What is the point of having a treatment and not being able to relax from it and go straight home and spend all day in a bath robe waiting for it? Collapse

We came here for afternoon tea bought as a birthday present. When we arrived there was a wedding reception going on, but we were dealt with promptly by reception and shown to the area where afternoon teas were taken. A slight hiccup they had no booking for us, but they were not busy and were easily able to accommodate us. It transpired later that our booking which had been made with central reservations of handpicked hotels had been incorrectly booked by them with their hotel in East Sussex so it was not the fault of Brands Hatch Place. Having been shown to our table our waiter showed and explained to us all the various tea options, unfortunately my partner can only drink coffee but this was no problem. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were well presented and our waiter explained all the different types of bread, fillings and cakes. On first seeing the sandwiches and cakes we both felt it was not a lot however it certainly was sufficient for us. We had to remind the waiter that it was a champagne afternoon tea but this again was soon reminded. Our main waiter had to leave to help at the wedding reception and we were left in the hands of another young guy Jack, who was very pleasant and extremely helpful. As we left I used the toilets which were immaculately clean and well maintained. Collapse

Took my wife and daughter for afternoon tea. Was thinking an afternoon of calm before we all get into the seasonal madness. We arrived for our 3pm reservation and we ignored for a considerable time. We were eventually shown to our table and told about the choice of teas (no mention of any other drinks). We then waited over 15 minutes to order the said tea from a surly youth who clearly had better things to be doing. We were never given a menu or options for food we were told what we were having. The website lists different tea options but they were never offered. The food arrived and we had to ask what was in the sandwiches. No explanation, no thought of speaking with the customer beforehand so my wife who doesn't eat egg or whole grain mustard wasn't given the option to have anything changed. We have had an evening meal here before and it was excellent. Food quality for the afternoon tea was a 6 out of 10 max. But the real issue was that even then the food was the highlight. The service was dire. No follow ups from waiters, trying to get someone attention for more tea took an age. Getting the bill was just as challenging. Eventually I went walkabout as the two senior and one junior member of staff in the room at the time, when only two tables were occupied, were unable to see my wife gesticulating to ask for the bill. Pay attention to your customers. Overall food 6/10. Sandwiches should be made fresh. The bread had the texture where the sandwiches were about an hour old and the edges were just turning. Service, well, some definite areas to learn the basics. For a quality hotel proudly displaying its two AA rosettes these should be run of the mill norms. Collapse
