We booked an afternoon tea and all went smoothly on arrival; we were shown to our table in a quiet corner of their Lounge area. It was served with our choice of hot drink plus a jug of iced water; was plentiful with varied items and delicious! Hot drinks were replenished as required. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the surroundings are most comfortable with a/c. Soft background music playing for atmosphere but didn't affect conversation. Would definitely return or recommend. Collapse

We booked a Classic Double room last minute, and upon arrival, the lady at reception said she could upgrade us to an Executive Double room. The hotel looks to have undergone some renovation work, and it's now a bit of a maze; getting from our room to the pool took navigating about half a dozen doors. The spa looks modern; the equipment looks new, the lockers in the changing room require you to enter a pin to lock (rather than carry a key), the pool was nice to relax in (though a little shallow for me), the jacuzzi pool was cosy for two couples to sit in, loved the shower next to the steam room, the steam room was relaxing and a relief with all the pollen, while the sauna was a little too much for me. The room itself was pleasant if a little warm. The windows only opened a little - guessing because it was a second-floor room - and this meant a disturbed night. Our room was at the back of the original house and overlooked a raised patch of grass that looked like it would be used for wedding photos. With this in mind, it seemed odd that the bathroom blind didn't reach the bottom of the window. The lower window was frosted, but if you opened it, you got a nice view of the grassed area (and people could see back too). We were on a Bed and Breakfast rate, and usually get a picnic to eat in the room, but this time we thought the dinner sounded too good to miss. At £30 we expected good things. The starters were very nice and had a lot of flavours. Sadly, the main course was a bit of a letdown. My Pork Wellington looked like a piece of sausage roll, while my better halves ballotine of chicken resembled two pieces of grilled chicken, and we sat for five minutes thinking more vegetables would arrive. I know it's a health spa and its presentation was definitely nouvelle cuisine, but when we left and saw lamb shank from another event, we ended up driving to a supermarket for the picnic anyway. In contrast, breakfast was great. The continental buffet had a nice selection, as did the cereal, and they even had a separate area for gluten free. My haddock and poached eggs cooked to perfection. For both meals, the staff were great. The hotel is less than a kilometre from Brands Hatch, with the M20 between them, and while the motorway noise isn't so bad, you can definitely hear the motorsports, which may put some off. But it is a pleasant enough hotel, with plenty of attractions within easy drive Collapse
A brilliant place

I recently stayed at this hotel for a family wedding and from the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out the next day the staff could not have been more helpful. Every little detail was taken care of and there was a first class service delivered by all. They even changed my 3 year old little girls food at the wedding because she told them she didn't like sausages! We didn't ask them to, they just did it and made a little girls day by doing so! The beds are just awesome - so comfortable. It's pricey here but you get the service for your money and I'd rather pay that bit extra and receive a second to none service which is exactly what we got! Well done Brands Hatch Place team! We will be back without question. Collapse

Brands hatch place Having reviewed hotels all over the world I think this is the first time I have had reason to say that what would otherwise have been a perfect stay was let down by the building rather than what was in it. This hotel is not near the M20, it is practically on it with its western boundary abutting the banking up to the motorway. All views to the west are blocked, and with the race track the other side the external noise level is notable (but not too obtrusive). That said, any ideas of sitting outside listening to bird song whilst admiring a glorious sunset are somewhat futile at this hotel. The front facade of the hotel is attractive but sadly that is about where any praise has to rest. The building was renovated some years ago to provide accommodation in two wings. A spar was added to the eastern side with a roof structure that would have been the pride of many an Eastern bloc factory in the seventies. This results in room views that either look internally into a small courtyard or to the motorway bank facing west with the 'Pride of Russia' to the East. Any room looking out of the front at least enjoys a vista over the lawns. The grounds are small and a five minute walk accounted for most of the area although access to the woodland at the back seems possible. Sadly the architectural disappointment doesn't just remain outside. We booked a Master Suite which on the photographs looked large and spacious but in reality was split in the centre by a central wall containing the AC unit and mounting for the television. Whilst the square footage of the room was indeed quite large, the resultant usable space, once the bathroom was accounted for, was no better (and probably worse) than a budget chain hotel could have offered. That said, the room was furnished to a high standard and everything worked. The mattress was somewhat 'old' and sagged in the centre but we enjoyed a good night's sleep. It is noticeable that the hotel is very dark inside, especially in the dining areas. Small windows serve large room areas and supplementary lighting seems to be essential. Anyway, onto more pleasant things. The staff were all excellent with good service throughout. The restaurant deserved its two AA rosettes and breakfast was superb with our special dietary requests readily accepted and catered for. Having been long term customers of a sister hotel in the Hand Picked group we found the Brands Hatch Place lived up to the standard we expected. It was just a shame that its location is not as idyllic as others in the group but putting that aside we enjoyed our stay. Lastly though, a warning about the post code and satnavs. The entrance to the hotel is on Brands Hatch Road, not on Rogers Wood Lane which is what our satnav had us turn into. This resulted in us passing the trade entrance and then driving a couple of miles in a single lane detour. If in doubt check with reception but once you have passed under the motorway bridge simply carry straight on. The entrance will be on the right. Collapse
