The Marriott Copley Boston is where I stay when traveling to Boston for. Red Sox game. It's walking distance to Fenway, shopping in the Back Bay, and great restaurants in every direction. The hotel itself is what you would expect from Marriott, well run, terrific service, well appointed rooms and a nice atmosphere. It's a BIG hotel, with lots of people coming and going so if you're looking for the small, quiet, boutique hotel, this is not your place. Oh, and the elevator is awesome, check it out! Collapse

WE stayed here for two nights for a wedding. WE had three rooms on Floor 33 with great river views. the corner King was amazing with a FANTASTIC View. If you are afraid of heights this might not be your room. Amenities in the room made in room dining easy with a pullout workstation/table mini Fridge Keurig coffee maker. In room dining was very good, selections tasty and can be picked up from the restaurant on level 2. It is attached to a shopping mall so there is plenty to spend your money on! The bell staff, Front desk staff were all super! Saturday brunch buffet was plentiful and we were also able to order from the menu. Collapse
Excellent location in the Back Bay area of Boston; be ready for elevator waits

This Marriott hotel is directly connected to the Copley Place shopping mall and across the street diagonally from the Prudential Center mall (there is in fact a walkway from the 2nd floor of the hotel that takes you right over to the Prudential Center, so that you may always traverse back and forth protected from the elements and the cars traffic; nice convenience). About 20-minute taxi ride from Logan airport. The rooms are very nice with plenty of good lighting; good firm mattress for bedding. However, the pillows provided are really flat and horrible if you like/need a firmer pillow. I called down to request a firmer pillow and all they had as an alternative were not-very-firm foam pillows. I'm surprised that there was this gap in their quality of service; would have expected more of a pillows menu, as people have different tastes/needs in pillow firmness and sleeping is critical at a hotel. Oh well. This hotel offers an excellent fitness center with swimming pool. This is not just a small room hotel gym, but a 2-large-rooms full of treadmills, ellipticals, weights, and circuit machines. Very spacious. Exercise fans will be very satisfied with this fitness center. This hotel now offers the standard-for-Marriotts Fresh Bites In-Room Dining - quality food prepared well and delivered fast. I ordered a griddled slow braised short rib sandwich, which came with housemade chips. Very delicious, I also ordered their Boston Cream Pie (how can you not order this when you are in Boston?); I am sad to say that they did not do a very good representation of this traditional yummy dessert. Another oh well. The Concierge Lounge is located on the 28th & 29th floors (I only experienced the 28th floor). Good breakfast offerings with fresh fruit, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, and breads/croissants. Very strange Seattle's Best single-serve coffee machine where you would press the buttons, wait eternal minutes with occasional sounds but nothing happening, and then all of a sudden HOT coffee spews out (be careful!). I went for the coffee canteens next to this machine instead; not sure if it was different coffee - tasted OK. Early evening hors d'oeuvres were so-so; evening desserts were only cookies and brownies the 2 nights that I experienced. Here's the big frustration from my perspective - this hotel now uses the newfangled floors board outside of the elevators and each elevator car has NO buttons - other than Open Doors and Close Doors. So, you have to select your desired floor outside where you are first, and then you are directed to a specific elevator car that will take you to your specific floor. The tedious aspect of this is if you are an Elite member and given a room that is not on the 27th/28th/29th floors. For all other floors you must first take an elevator to the 27th floor, and then switch to a specific elevator that reaches the Concierge level 28th/29th floors (after scanning your key card inside the elevator car). So, with the new no-buttons-in-elevator-car system, you are first needing to wait for a specific elevator assigned to you to go to the 27th floor and then you are waiting again for a 2nd elevator to take you to the Concierge Level. Coming and going and if you visit the Concierge Lounge for breakfast, evening hors d-oeuvres and then dessert, you are literally waiting (4 x 3) = 12 times in a day for these specific-stop elevators. Elite members should not be subjected to these frustrations. These frustrations alone made me drop a Very-Good score down to Average. If you are not an Elite member, then the score would be Very Good, since you won't have to deal with these frustrations. Collapse

Our 3 night stay earlier this week lived up to our expectations, with great service, good facilities and an ideal location. The staff were very attentive and courteous and nothing felt like too much trouble. Only criticism related to breakfast. At check in we were encouraged to "upgrade" and buy, for $50 per day, concierge floor access, getting a free daily breakfast for all the family in the package. Compared to $30 per person for breakfast, this seemed to make sense. Unfortunately, this package was clearly oversold, with food regularly running out and seating hard to come by. We heard others make similar comments. I would suggest that Marriott limit the number of these packages sold to ensure good customer service, rather than chasing profit. To be fair, this was a small issue and overall I would rate the hotel and our experience highly. Collapse

Excellent hotel with an excellent location. Clean, comfortable beds. Great staff starting with the porter, Front Desk , maids and concierge. Attached by bridge to Prudential Center with several restaurants. I strongly recommend it
