Expectations, expectations, expectations. Isn't that what it's all about? I have to say my expectations were high and that Resort and Club exceeded the, and that's saying a lot. I grew up going to the Breakers Palm beach and always thought the Boca Club was the smaller step-child of that grand resort (Still a favorite to this day) but I have to admit after our recent stay I have changed my tune, and now have to say that I think this property is giving the best of the 5 star classics a run for their money. I will be as specific as possible in this review. As is so often the case, the people bring a grand dame like the Boca Raton Resort and Club to life, and I don't mean the guests. Being a club member or hotel guest is the only way you can enjoy this property so there are not a lot of people milling around just touring the property as tourists. That is a nice factor as it made us feel at home and very privileged to boot. We had to give our name at the gate house to enter the driveway, that keeps out the lookie-loo's!. Arianna at the front desk was FLAWLESS as she checked us in and described our choice of rooms. We chose a room on the East side of the Cloister at her suggestion and we are so glad we did. Room 10378 is now one of our favorite rooms anywhere. It's spacious and the bathroom is beautiful but what we liked most were windows that actually opened, the sound of the fountain in the courtyard and the view of the inter-coastal from our room. We even slept with the windows open because the weather was perfect for sleeping. We took the shuttle boat to the Beach Club which eas a great way to travel over. The Beach Club itself is a more contemporary space with pool and beach adjacent to the hotel rooms. It was crowded on a sunny Saturday afternoon as one would expect. The Bloody Mary was a good one and made the afternoon go by all too fast. After taking the boat back we decided to explore the main property. We found the Spa... aaaah. Cherlinda was the beautiful spa attendant at the desk who was kind enough to arrange our tour and make us feel so welcome. The space is amazing with everything a spa should be from the Moorish inspired architecture inside and out and the private outdoor Spa Pool. We opted to sign up for the Ritual Bath Treatment for the next day which also got us Spa Access for the entire day as well. WE made the Spa Pool our new home at the Club from then on, quiet, no kids and very private. The single sex indoor area with saunas, steam room, hot tub and relaxation area was like a dream. The attendants were present but not at all overbearing and they kept things stocked and clean throughout the next two days as we were pretty much camped at this private and exclusive enclave. The Ritual Bath was a great hour long service at a very reasonable rate. The $44.00 for Spa Access may upset some but you get what you pay for and we were happy to indulge for a couple days to feel so special in such a unique environment. We had dinner without a reservation at Morimoto which was great. Anderson was our server and made us feel especially welcome and went beyond the call of duty in his recommendation on Sake and entrees making sure we didn't over-order. We had lunch after we checked out with Anderson again and he was as attentive and accommodating the 2nd time around as well. From drinks in the Monkey Bar to people watching in the lobby our Saturday night was relaxed and just what we needed. After a perfect weather Sunday by the Spa Pool we relaxed in our room before deciding on Lucca for dinner. Once again we were able to get in without a reservation and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service from Paul our Waiter. His wine recommendation was spot on with a reasonably priced Amarone which is hard to find by the glass. On check-out day we bought into the spa once again, put enough clothes in our lockers for dinner and put the rest of our belongings in the Bell Desk storage and remained on the property until after dinner where we were joined by friends at 501which served ENORMOUS salads and some of the best ribs ever. Even after check-out we were able to enjoy the property and Gym, food and bars. What a special experience. I think that this management team and the property as a whole is working hard to raise the level of service to that of other 5 star chain properties like Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons. I appreciated their efforts greatly. I do however have to say that I didn't see a lot of appreciation from a lot of our fellow guests who seemed over-indulged, over-privileged and displaying unreasonable expectations from a property that has aptly adapted to 2017 life in a 100+ year old grand dame shell. I rarely heard the words "Thank You" and heard a lot of entitled rudeness throughout our 3 days from people who were being graciously served by a group of true professionals. My mother always said, you get more with honey than you do with vinegar. I must say that I didn't have to slop on too much sugar here and still I felt like I got a lot of service for my effort. Thank you again to all and we look forward to seeing you again Next Month! We feel very privileged to be able to join you again so soon. Collapse

Lovely property that needs some TLC. Beautiful grounds, most of the staff are friendly and helpful but check in is chaotic. Breaks for meetings are not tended to properly. Beverages were constantly out or their were not cups or ice available.

This was our second visit to the Boca Raton Club in two months so we looked forward to enjoying the amenities again. The building and grounds remind you of another era. Both times we stayed in rooms in the Tower with a water view. These are expensive rooms. This time our room was not as appealing as our first visit. The 2 queen beds faced the opposite wall rather than the panoramic windows. The bathroom needed updating (low sink vanities) and repairs (the toilet flush handle leaked water). Maid service was inadequate--- a note to change the sheets resulted in only one bed being changed. Also, the cleanliness of the room was questionable. We will go back again but be more careful in room selection. Collapse

Just got back from our last trip here. We love staying in the tower with a water view, maybe one of the best views in Florida! The pool area is also very nice. Overall, a little disappointed in the resort. At breakfast each day, we sat in a different area, and one was more stained, dirty and worn out then the next. Bordering on disgusting, not something that I would expect in a Waldorf resort, and at the prices they get. Additional charges are also a minor pet peeve. Added to our bill was a report charge of $27, valet parking of $37, and taxes of $78..which adds up to a not insubstantial add on, for very little( the hotel doesn't control taxes obviously). Looks like a 5 star resort but doesn't live up to that expectation....

My husband and I just spent a weekend at this resort. It is beautiful and in a gorgeous location on the water in Boca Raton. Some things about our visit were wonderful - the staff in Serendipity, at the pool and in their restaurant the Blue. However, what we didn't like - the maid never cleaned our room, the room service breakfast was not good at all. The fruit was passed its prime and the oatmeal was watery. We also felt that the food at the Blue was mixed - very good appetizers and bread but the $48 lamb was just so-so. The desserts were just average. For the prices that are charged everything should be excellent not just the service. Also, the paint was peeling in the bathroom of our suite - unacceptable. It is very expensive to stay at this property and I hope that they will work on making it live up to "Waldorf Astoria" standards. We have stayed at other expensive hotels and felt that the expense was worth it but not at this resort. Collapse
