This was a summer break with my friends to celebrate special birthdays, having never been to Minorca before I didn't know what to expect as I go to Majorca. It is a beautiful island just like Majorca, the Blancala apartments are very good with everything you could need for self catering we were HB so was a bonus to have a kitchen also & we asked for an apartment over looking the sea & weren't disappointed it's a beautiful view. Food was good quality, but it's not self serve if your going half board you get a choice of about 5 different breakfasts with tea or coffee & juice & dinner is a choice of 3 different starters, mains & choice of about 4 puds. Bar prices are reasonable the staff are lovely very helpful & attentive. There are a choice of 2 pools to use, a crazy golf area, outdoor toilets & showers, really everything you could need whilst relaxing by the pool. There isn't a beach nearby it's about quarter of a mile away, each direction, but it's a cove & gets very busy, there's few bars, supermarket etc if you turn right out of the apartment or a supermarket & burger place if you turn left, but Cala Blanca is a very peaceful resort, good for young families & couples. Citudella is a short bus ride away or a taxi ride which cost 7.50ish Euro's each way or 2 I think on the bus, it's a very busy town, but well worth a visit. Would I visit Minorca again ? Yes as I'd like to explore the island some more. Collapse

Lovely apartments in a quiet area. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the pool area and the sea. Approx 10 minute walk from the strip where there are bars and restaurants and approx 15 min walk from Santandria beach which is usually very busy but the sea is lovely to swim in. There are a few bars and restaurants in this area too but no other shade.Staff at the apartments were helpful and rooms were clean. We had a problem with the bathroom lock and this was fixed on the same day that we reported it. There is a supermarket very close. The pool area is cleaned every day and opens at 9am, there are jumping platforms into the sea just off the pool area and a lovely cove to swim and snorkel in. Also ideally situated to watch the beautiful sunset. The only downside is that there is no air conditioning in the apartments, there are large ceiling fans in the rooms but they don't really help on a very hot day. This is the only negative though. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Ciutadella is a 15 min taxi ride away and well worth a visit. Collapse

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights in July. We had two apartments which were both a good size and both had a sea view (which we didn't pay for). The apartments were clean and tidy and our beds were made each day. The kitchenette is very basic and old fashioned, the only downside really. One of them didn't even have a kettle. The location of the apartments is lovely, right next to the sea and the two pools have a great views. Always sun loungers available and the pool was clean. The reception staff were pleasant but didn't really help us with tourist info/local transport info or anything like that. They were either not knowledgeable or not really bothered, we wern't sure which. Cala Blanca itself is about a 50 minute drive from the airport and is one of the quietest places on the island. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but not many bars (which we didn't mind). There is also a small supermarket about 30 yards from the apartments with everything you need. All in all, a nice base from which to have a relaxing holiday. Collapse

When we arrived was midnight but next day in the morning we woke up in paradise. It's worth taking a sea view room because you are right next the sea with the most stunning sunsets. The pool is decent size and very clean and the restaurant has really delicious food( sea food paella was our favourite). The apartments are Close to the bus station and supermarket and also walking distance from few amazing beaches. all the staff was amazing and I cannot thank them enough for their help and professionalism. I've already recommended to all my friends and can't wait to go back. Collapse

Just got back from my birthday week away staying at the Blancala apartments. When we arrived from the airport at around 10 pm, the reception was closed, and we were a little concerned that we might be sleeping on the roadside for that evening as we weren't aware the reception would be closed or what to do if it was. Luckily after asking in the restaurant, they came out with our keys and a note to check in in the morning, so all was well. The people in the restaurants were very friendly and helpful and made us feel at ease despite the reception being closed. Our room was on the first floor, which involved four flights of stairs to get up, but this wasn't a bother for us personally as it was quite good to keep fit! The apartment was incredibly clean and tidy, spacious and accommodating. We had two large sofas that could have been easily used as beds, a dining table, a kitchen with a microwave, toaster, kettle and a hob. Our balcony had a nice view of the nearby cove, and there were a nice table and four chairs to sit at. The bathroom was also spacious, and the shower was very powerful and easy to get a good temperature. The bedroom was also very nice, with a large wardrobe and a mirror, and had a nice window that opened up completely for some air. We were grateful for the ceiling fan as it definitely came in handy to keep us cool, however, the bedroom one was much more powerful than the living room one. The beds itself, as I've experienced many times abroad, were unfortunately very hard and uncomfortable but honestly I don't think I've ever had a comfy bed abroad so wasn't really unexpected! Having stayed many times in Menorca before, Cala Blanca was a new place on the list to explore and stay. We found it quite beautiful with the view of the sea, but restaurant and shopping wise it was very much on the quiet side. However, this didn't bother us too much as we hired a moped and spent every day exploring other towns, particularly Cala'n Bosh which was a lot busier and more choices of restaurants. Throughout our stay was enjoyable, easy and relaxing. The staff at the restaurant and bar were mostly friendly and helpful, however sometimes seemed a little rushed off their feet/ annoyed with having to serve us due to the Saint Joan Festival. One thing we did find slightly...offputting was the fact the pool was open to the public. We ended up only using the pool once because a lot of the times it was completely crowded and there was not a sunbed in sight. A lot of the times we almost felt as if we were intruding on a party or something, and I think perhaps the fact that the hotel pool is open to the public should be something that is made clear before you book. The pool itself was however very nice and a good size, and we appreciated the fact ball games were allowed as previous places we have stayed have not allowed this in the pool. Overall our stay at Blancala apartments was enjoyable, clean, accommodating and a good location for a one time stay. The only reason we would not stay again is due to the area of Cala Blanca being a bit too quiet for our liking, and because we would perhaps want to stay at a hotel/apartments with entertainment or at least somewhere that was a bit more private in terms of the pool and surrounding sunbathing areas. I would recommend Blancala for older couples looking for a quiet, relaxing, basic apartment to stay in, or perhaps a family looking for something basic and clean as a reasonably priced quiet holiday.
