We have just returned after a week in the sun with Jet2holidays and seven nights at this last very hotel. From the moment you walk into reception the staff make you feel welcome especially after a later arrival than planned due to a delay at Manchester airport. Check in quick and simple and then after an earlier email we arrived in our room on the sixth floor overlooking the pool area and with a lovely sea view. The hotel had also arranged for fizz flowers and chocolates in the room for my wife’s birthday and they were ready and waiting. Our girls were also impressed with there separate beds on one side of the room and our massive double bed on the other side. The room was spacious and clean with British Tv channels with was a bonus too. There was a safe included as we had upgraded to a pool view room and also towels for use on the sun beds. Large bathroom with one of the best hotel room showers I have ever had, waterfall and power shower. We headed straight down for dinner and enjoyed a varied and wide choice of buffet food and then retired to bed. The next day breakfast was lovely with British bacon on offer and pancakes for the kids again plenty of choice and then around the pool for the day. All inclusive gave us plenty of choice on drinks and snacks at the pool side eatery and bar. The hotel is very centrally located in Playa des la America’s with shops literally a five minute walk and there is plenty of shops bars and restaurants to choose from. And yes the beach is close by too. Having spent 7 nights there we could not fault anything the kids loved the mini club from 10am until 1pm and then again 2pm until 5pm so much so they wanted to spend more time there then being in the heated pool. In the evening after dinner there is mini disco for the kids were they get certificates from mini club if they have done well at something and then they have a dance and then a movie. All in all this has been a great holiday and our children did not want to come home, despite people saying it was colder than normal for this time of year we had lovely warm weather and an enjoyable winter half term break. Cannot fault Jet2holidays especially the luggage collection on the day of departure so no hanging around with it all day and having the queue to check in at the airport just straight to passport control. If your looking for a clean friendly good food and drinks and centrally locates hotel then this is worth a look. Collapse
Underwhelmed to the point of disappointment

My mother in law treated us to a week all inclusive for my 40th birthday, and we were expecting more for what we paid. First off, checking in took what felt like ages-two people working reception, but we had to wait quite a while while they both were busy checking in 1 family. We literally stood at the desk for 10 minutes while no-one even acknowledged our presence. When we finally got to our rooms, they had put my husband and I in the room with 2 single beds, and my daughter and mother in law in the room with the double bed, so we sorted ourselves out. I'm glad we did, as the double room had a really bad smell coming from the bathroom....I can only describe it as raw sewage and rotten fish! I tried to ignore it, as hubby said he couldn't smell it (turns out his nose was blocked!) but when I woke on the 3rd day, I couldn't even use the toilet because just opening the door made me sick! I of course went to reception and explained the situation (8:30am) and was assured that we would be moved to another room as the one we were in was having ventilation issues (then why were we put in that room? Still haven't got an answer!) but I was asked to come back at noon to collect the new room keys. I had breakfast (food is diabolical BTW!) and puttered around trying to avoid going back to the room. At one point I had to use the facilities in my MIL & daughters room rather than open the bathroom door. I went back to reception at 11:30, hoping that the room might be ready early, as all I was waiting for was housekeeping to "check the room," but no luck. I was again assured that it would be ready at noon, so called down, only to be told that it still wasn't ready and they would contact us in our smelly room when the new one was ready. At 12:30 I went back to reception and was quite upset by then, so started my dialogue with "I would like to take a shower today!" After a long conversation between the man at reception and someone else, my new keys were issued. When we got to the room, two twin beds again! I immediately rang down, and was told someone would come sort the bed,so we waited....another 4 hours! It's a good job we had no plans that day! As for the food, everything we have had so far tastes so over processed that I have been sticking to salad. The service in all areas is rediculously slow, and all the staff are experts at looking right at you and walking the other way! The drinks and cocktails are weak-even heard another group arguing with the waiter that their mojitos had no alcohol in them! The selection of food in the restaurant is minimal, and my daughter and I are struggling to find anything appealing! That would be fine for me, as I could probably stand to lose a few pounds, but is a real problem for my daughter with CF. As for the entertainment, the only show we enjoyed so far has been a beatles tribute. One of the pools has been closed more than it has been open, and there is absolutely nothing for older kids to do. Sufice it to say we will not be returning, and definitely will tell our loved ones to avoid this hotel! Collapse

We arrived as a family of 7 adults in 4 rooms which were all on the same floor overlooking kids playground and a derelict hotel complex with no sun at all on the balcony all day. We went to reception to ask to be moved and were told the hotel was full. The rooms were nice enough and clean but my son had ants in his room and was then given the option to move rooms (Oh but I'm sure the hotel was full?) We were woken up at 4 o'clock every morning by bin collections or deliveries. We paid a lot of money for this hotel for my 50th birthday and were left disappointed by the food in the main dining hall also snacks by the pool were stale burger and hot dog rolls, sent them back twice but were still charged as we were half board. The evening shows were not very good and the drinks very pricey seem to cater for the older generation. The pool area could do with updating as the sunbeds and umbrellas are very old plus we couldn't get 7 beds together as even tho it says not to reserve beds before 10am people did, I told reception about this on 2 occasions but nothing was done about it. Will definitely not return to your so called 4 star hotel and will not recommend it to my friends. Collapse

Overall the hotel was good. Check in was very quick and the room lovely, however overlooked the children’s play park & never saw the sun all day. The park closes at 6.30 so never had any noise at night, but my daughter had hours of fun there. The restaurant was very busy & sometimes were wondering around looking for a table. Food was good but a bit repetitive, not a lot of choice for kids. Pool was lovely for kids & separate from main pool. Had no problem getting sun beds but don’t leave any stuff before 10am as the lifeguard takes it away, cannot reserve beds before that time. About 20-30 min walk to the nearest decent sandy beach but very convenient to main shops/ restaurants. Cleaning was great apart from the last day when they wanted to come in before we had checked out. Agree about the plastic cups for drinks, doesn’t make sense if you are sat in the bar. Overall a nice hotel but probably won’t return. Collapse
