We had a great holiday here on the week before Easter. We were half board and the food was varied and tasty and the staff in the restaurant friendly and hard working. The entertainment staff were enthusiastic and friendly and sunbeds round the pool easy to get at any time of the day. However. I suspect that this would not be the case at busier times. The room was clean and spacious and the recent refurbishment made the room fresh and modern. Although the reception area was still being refurbished, disruption was kept to a minimum. I would happily come here again. Collapse

Once again this Easter we, a family of two grandparents, two parents, and two children, stayed at the Bitacora Hotel in Playa de las Americas. This is the fifth year we have spent Easter here. The parents and children also spend their summer holidays here. The fact that we return year after year is, in itself, a good review. We have never been disappointed in the hotel. The prices have risen this year, but this is to be expected because of the situation in other areas of the world which were popular in the past. The Bitacora is extremely well positioned in the resort, being right in the centre, and within easy walking distance of all amenities – shops and beach – and in an area which is all flat. The hotel caters extremely well for all ages, from the elderly to the youngest of children. It is the only one of the three Spring Hotels which caters for children, and it does so extremely well, but not to the detriment of the elderly guests. There is an extremely good children’s club, and an excellent play area for children of all ages. Unlike some hotels, the Bitacora has gone the whole way to cater for kids – not just the usual small area in an out-of-the-way corner. The pool area ( two large pools and water slide , plus lifeguards) is a very good one, with plenty of sunbeds, and ample room for everyone. One good thing is that any towel on a sunbed before ten in the morning is removed, so that beds cannot be reserved by selfish people. In some hotels I have seen beds reserved by towels in the early morning, with their owners not turning up till late afternoon. Not so in the Bitacora! The food, as usual, was very good, with plenty of choice. Occasionally, popular menu items ran out, and it was some time before they were replenished. However, this is fairly understandable in a very busy restaurant. The staff are great, and the people on reception were, as usual, extremely pleasant, and always willing to help. We asked for a quiet room, and were given a very large one on the eighth floor, with an excellent view. As usual, and as expected, we had an excellent holiday ( fantastic weather, as well) in a very good hotel. We will definitely be going back next Easter One small thing – the lifts. One could, at times, spend a lot of the holiday waiting for the lift to stop at your floor – on one occasion we spent nearly five minutes as the three lifts went up and down past us, stopping on all floors, it seemed, apart from ours. We would expect lifts to be busy in a large and full hotel, but we would also expect it to stop on our floor, rather than passing it. However, as I noted, this is a very small thing, and of no great importance. Thank you, Bitacora, for an enjoyable holiday again this year. Collapse

I am just back from the Biticora and it was myself (male) and my 3 year old daughter who went for a week on 18th April 2017. Good points: - excellent kids club, kids playground, pool, and restaurant. - pool view was amazing and room was always cleaned to a very good standard - right next to bus stop for siam park and loro parque and close all local attractions Bad points: - bar staff were not really friendly, in fairness I only got served by the same couple of staff members every day so can't say what others were like - no bath and just a walk in shower which would have been fine but water did not go to a comfortable warm level - water slide not available to 3 year olds even if they can swim with no arm bands which is different from what I was told on the phone by the hotel before booking. - night entertainment was quite boring as it was just singing mainly whereas I like interaction shows like magic...etc Overall I was happy with the stay as it's a good hotel and Tenerife is very enjoyable with lots to do. Went with family of ten ranging from 3 to 70 .rooms were large .shower over the bath and plenty of hot water. Beds comfy.Had to pay for safe and fridge .Had trouble with lights they kept going off at anytime with key in .after reporting it they sent someone up but only put do not disturb sign in which did work funnily enough. Choice of food was good though sometimes from the cooking station I did get some fish and meat not cooked thoroughly. The food was always hot. The entertainment was not very good apart from the animation team who did there best . Drinks were named brands on all inclusive and the cocktails were great plenty of choice .large playground for children my 3year old grandson loved it . I would like to say a big thank you to Jose for making my birthday celebration special and letting my family put up banners around pool and dining room and decorating the table .The birthday cake was lovely and such a surprise.would . The internet stations in lobby was free and wi fi could get all around hotel . Pool sun beds were comfy and easy got beds even for 10 of us loved the idea of not reserving them before 10 o clock .If you did the pool lads would take them away and your belongings well done for sticking to the rules .The hotel is central for beach shops and bars .would recommend the hotel for families. .
