We stayed at The Bitacora for a family holiday, with an age range of 14 up to 82. We had been here a couple of times before, over 10 years ago and chose it for its location and positive reviews. We remembered it as a great hotel and hoped it was as good as we remembered. As soon as we arrived and were allocated to our rooms I knew that we had made the right choice. Rooms: We had three refurbished rooms on the fifth floor. The rooms were all identical, however we were lucky enough to have one of the new terraces in one of the rooms, these are lovely with outdoor shower, sun loungers, parasol and table and chairs. The two other rooms had a small balcony, with a table and chairs and a dryer. We overlooked the play area and the abandoned building on this side of the hotel, however as we were so high up we also had a sea and mountain view and a panoramic view of the resort, I could even see (tiny) people coming down the Tower of Power at Siam park. The balcony seemed to be in the shade all day, I did not mind this, as I liked the view and did not really use the balcony as I was either at the pool or out and about. This side of the hotel might not suit you if you like to sun yourself on the balcony. The rooms are lovely, they are probably the most spacious hotel rooms that I have been in, there is plenty of storage and great lighting in the room. The bathrooms are great, with a walk in shower, with an angled shower and also an overhead rainfall type shower. The housekeeping staff came daily, changing bedding and towels on request, the rooms were always clean and well presented. Food: We stayed all-inclusive, as we were a family group and found it easier, one of the things that I remembered from our previous visits was the high standard of the food and drinks and the excellent service from the staff and wondered if it might have suffered by offering all inclusive. I didn't feel that it had, the food was beautifully presented, fresh and hot and the dining area immaculate. We ordered drinks as we were seated and never had to wait for them. The staff work very hard and are polite and patient, they are all very well presented, including the chefs and kitchen staff that bring out the food. We recognised one of the restaurant managers from our last visit over 9 years ago, he was always smiling and helping out the staff. The two ladies that worked on the front as you went in were always cheery and smiling and frequently remembered your room numbers, without seeing your card. Pool area: The pool area is showing signs of age, in the tiling and the pool furniture, but is still immaculately kept and comfortable, the bar area is new and well maintained. There is food available to help yourself to, this is all covered up and checked regularly. It is bar service at the pool, some previous reviewers did not like this, but they were quick and the drinks were nicely presented. Bar and entertainment We used the bar and watched the entertainment every night. We found the bar service quick and efficient. There are a number of waiters working the room, who take orders on a hand held device, the order goes straight to the bar and another waiter brings out the drinks. Sometimes our drinks were bought out before the person taking the order had left the table. As it got busier later on, we found it was easier to order a bottle of wine and Cava for the table, rather than calling a waiter over all the time. All drinks were beautifully presented and again the staff were polite, professional and immaculate. The entertainment was good standard typical holiday fare, we particularly enjoyed Dominic James and the night that the in house staff performed, but all acts were good. I noticed that the week after we visited the entertainment board had totally different act, so the hotel obviously has access to a wide range of entertainers and doesn't recycle acts too often. The in house entertainment group were all young and enthusiastic and gave the impression that they loved their jobs. We didn't participate in the daytime activities, so didn't really mix with them, but were impressed by the way that they interacted with everyone, they were very inclusive. If they noticed children in the hotel they always had a word for them and remembered their name. It was a pleasure to see people so involved with their work. There is an entertainment area downstairs for children, where there are early evening shows for them, we didn't pay it much attention, having no small children with us, but it was well attended on the night I noticed it. Reception: Lovely, charming, patient people on reception, who will help you with any query and have knowledge of the local attractions. The reception area itself is very cool and comfortable. I would have liked a stand with leaflets of local attractions, as you don't always know what you might like to visit. Cards: There is a card for accessing room/drinks and a paper card for showing in the dining room, sometimes you need both, you're on holiday, you have to show both cards, does it matter? It's not hard. The hotel is not exclusively all-inclusive, this helps them. Location: In the middle of everything. The buses to all the attractions leave from across the road, we visited Siam Park and Jungle Park from here, both great days out. Building work This was ongoing as we left. We noticed nothing apart from some distant drilling, when we were by the pool. However in the last couple of days they were ripping out patio doors on the other side of the hotel to us, I wouldn't have liked to be above these rooms. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the Bitacora. It delivered everything that we wanted, it was comfortable, immaculate, relaxing, the food and drink were excellent and the staff welcoming and charming. It is a seamlessly run hotel and I would not hesitate to recommend it, or return. Collapse

We went here as a couple for a week in October, We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was great and always plenty of it. We didn't really see much of the evening entertainment as we went half board and went into the resort most nights, only downside is the pool was closed for 2 full days and some building work going on which can be heard when sunbathing around the pool. Overall though we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back. Collapse

Not the hotel I remember unfortunately, we stayed all inclusive but not worth the money! Food at lunchtime was awful and all food was lukewarm. The drinks available aren't the same they used to offer more choice such as Budweiser but now all local brands except for some spirits. The animation team were very good, worked very hard and were great fun. The bar staff worked hard too. Work going on in hotel so a lot of noise through the day which wasn't expected therefore one of the lifts was out of action which caused queues at peak times. Wifi not the greatest but no computer area either as the renovations are going on. It's a shame because this hotel was fabulous until it got taken over don't think I'd rush back which is sad! Best hotel ever 😝☀️

I went here on holiday from the 4th of October till the 16th and has the best time ever !!! As the rooms were up to date and the staff friendly, plenty to do and a beautiful hotel, very clean as well. Great links to Siam park and other places around Tenerife as there was a bus stop outside the hotel and I would recommend the ice cream shop at the end of the street near the beach as well. Only Problem was the noise at night when the entertainment was on it was very loud other than that I am definitely coming back next year ☀️ Collapse

We have stayed here on many occasions over numerous years and have always had a lovely holiday. This visit was no different. The staff, room, cleaners, comfort and restaurant are all consistently fantastic. We had room 718 which had a great view, lovely bathroom with walkin shower and a sunny afternoon balcony. The new double glazing made the room quiet too. The fabulous weather was the icing on the cake. Will return! Collapse
