We stayed here on 19th February. I booked the foodie package which included a welcome cocktail, sweet platter in the bedroom, 4 course meal and breakfast. All this for only £69 was quite the bargain for a 5 star hotel. We arrived early and our room wasn't yet ready, but we were efficiently checked in and our luggage taken while we were able to go and have a wander around the city. I felt that the staff were extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help. Dinner in the evening was good although I felt that paper napkins (although a very high quality) weren't in keeping with a 5 star vibe. The food itself was seasonal and of a good standard and was delivered at a nice pace not too slow or rushed. The coffee wasn't great after the meal I ordered an Americano but it was more like filter coffee. The Bedroom I felt lacked anything to give it a 5 star vibe, while it was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable i didn't feel like I was in a 5 star hotel. Again the service we received being brought to our room was second to none and we were made feel very welcome. For breakfast on the Monday we were down around 9.30/45. it was great to know that the breakfast was cooked to order which is rare now in hotels, I asked for the chorizo Spanish omelette but I was informed that there was no chorizo, this wasn't a problem and I ordered the full counties breakfast it was very good although I thought a better quality sausage would have helped. Maybe a butcher style sausage which would be a bit more in keeping. The continental buffet was well stocked but the yoghurts and smoothies that were on offer would have been better kept on ice as mine was quite warm and the granola was soggy. maybe the granola could be served as a separate sprinkle? Our checkout was prompt and courteous and we were bid a fond farewell. Over all I enjoyed my break and I would come back to the hotel again but I did feel that I had more of a 4 star than a 5 star stay. The value for money though was excellent. Collapse

Visited this Restaurant, last week, family of three, and delighted we did,had a pre-dinner drink,in the bar area, shortly later, the waiter took us to our table, then a young lady took our food order, she came back to tell us one of the orders were not available,no problem,we said, ordered a different meal, two minutes later the restaurant manager came down, believe his name was Gerald, apologised to us about the meal that was not available, asked what do you want,we didnt have to answer,he had the problem sorted within ten seconds, much to the delight of my son.Its a long time since i have seen such a professional attitude and service from a manager,a proper gentleman who made sure everything was perfect.Starters a delight, main courses, perfection, cannot find a fault, this is the way to run a restaurant, thanks to everyone for making it a night to remember Collapse

My wife and I chose the Bishop's Gate for our wedding anniversary celebration - a Saturday night stay with dinner/breakfast - brilliant ! Manager Ciaran and his fine team have achieved exactly what makes a classy hotel also feel warm and welcoming - capturing the essence of the hospitality, history, and humour unique to the City of Derry. Right from arrival to departure, concierge Conor was helpful, professional and attentive throughout, Laura was a joy on reception, Niall was exemplary on dinner service and Columb did the business on the bar and at breakfast. The food, at dinner and breakfast was top notch. And not to forget the housekeeping staff who went about their business with joy and enthusiasm which tells a story in itself. Exceptional - and highly recommended. Collapse

Wow, if you have been here and didn't like it you need your head looked at. What a lovely place. Hospitality from the start 100%, porter service to our room with sweet platter and Bellinis to welcome us. Slight issue with our first room( no fault of hotel- works ongoing in street) , room quickly changed with apologies from staff. Meal gorgeous compliments to chef, staff courteous at all times ensuring your needs were met without being annoying. Room was beautiful with everything you needed. I have paid more in hotels for less service. Bishops gate hotel is one I will remember and look forward to coming back to. Collapse
