The hotel is large and offers a bar, restaurant and health spa with swimming pool and sauna. The staff were friendly and polite, and we stayed in a superior double room, which consisted of a large bed, lounge area, hallway and bathroom. The size of the room was lovely (we entertained a family member in the lounge area while we got ready to go out), but it was a little warm and the air conditioning was quite noisy but did make it tolerable. The bed was comfy, but the pillows were quite flat, to the point that 2 each just didn't provide enough support (and I only use 1 at home). The room was also on the ground floor facing the road junction, meaning that the room was quite noisy for most of the night, so the combination of the two didn't result in the best nights sleep. The bath was the strangest feature though, the shower was lovely but it was situated over the bath, meaning that to stand under the jet, you have to stand on the plug which closes it and prevents the bath from draining. If you decide to have a bath instead, the bath tap is located in such a bizarre location, that the water hits the plug release and sprays everywhere except in the bath. All in all it was a good stay, but definitely ask for a room away from the road, bring earplugs for the traffic noise and air conditioning, be careful in the shower and be prepared to ask for extra pillows. 4.5 Good location - lots of restaurants and shops nearby (5 min walk) Room - we had a quadruple room and was very spacious. The bed was the right firmness for me and I slept well but was a bit hard for my sisters. There was a kettle which I normally expect in a hotel but there was also a fridge and box of tissue which was a bonus. Just minor details It was a room for four people so I would have expected four chairs (we only had 3), furnishing was a bit dated (also in the lounge) so didn't have the modern feel I normally go for but wasn't an issue. There were some limescale in the sink but everything else was clean. Breakfast - Huge selection for cooked and continental breakfast. Three different ways of eggs (scrambled, poached, fried) which was cool but scrambled eggs were a bit too buttery for me. I normally not a big fan of hash browns but that was delicious. Sausage and bacon were nice too. I would have more helpings if I wasn't so full. Staff were friendly and we were asked for our drinks order straight away so very efficient. My cup was dirty though so I had to switch it with another one. Spa - had a massage with a Virgin experience voucher and it was very relaxing. The relaxation area/waiting area was a bit small and the fruits looked like it had been there for a while. In other spas we are normally offered drinks beforehand or jugs of water somewhere to help yourselves but there weren't any here. Spa itself was okay. Jacuzzi was huge and could fit more than five people. There was a steam room and sauna and a pool. The changing room was a bit small and I was annoyed you had to pay for slippers, robes and towels (again something provided in other spas) It was a great stay and I would come back again if I'm ever in Bexleyheath. I attended a Murder Mystery here which was great fun. The event area is self contained and away from the main hotel areas which feels private and works well. The food wa very good and the staff were helpful and engaged. I did not stay overnight so cannot comment on the bedrooms but as an event venue it works well. The parking situation is a bit confusing. There is a public car park next to the hotel so it's close enough but it's not clear whether you have to pay or not. Go into the hotel and register your car reg and you don't need to pay. Collapse
