I was at the hotel for an association Annual General Meeting linked with their Christmas Lunch. I booked well in advance - just as well because it was a busy weekend, plus the weather was appalling, albeit forecasted!! Facilities were great and on the whole the staff were good, although the weekend staff were occasionally clueless about IT matters. Annoying daft stuff like door cards and IT access. I was dashing around as Meeting Secretary, so I appeared pretty impatient about delays. The room (Studio 5) was a bit obscure and required a bit of resolution to find it. Lugging meeting papers was tedious! It was quiet! Collapse

Stayed at the hotel while at a Christmas do. Found the staff very friendly and the room on the 4th floor was a nice size and my partner and myself enjoyed a very pleasant stay. Would stay there again.

The price for this hotel wasn't expensive by any means but it was also twice the price of a premier in so I sort of expected something reasonable in terms of accommodation and food. My first room smelled of sewage but the helpful receptionist soon sorted that willingly. I'd been told that I needed to book a table at dinner but when I stepped into the freezing cold restaurant at 20:30 - I had no idea why. It was empty - empty of staff, empty of guests and certainly empty of warmth. I was told that the heating was only put on for breakfast but they had loads of heaters I could have.... The menu was printed and with pictures which is never a good sign but in her defence the waitress confirmed the whitebait was frozen and offered a suggested for home-made Lamb Rogan Josh (special of the day) so that was me sorted. I ordered a coffee which duly arrived (splashed down the sides) and with coffee grinds stuck to the inside of the cup. The coffee tasted like the filter had been squeezed into the cup - it was pretty dire! The tables were “dressed” (down) black plates and white linen but the black plates had seen far better days, being chipped, lumpy and the glaze pretty much bashed out over time, The Whitebait arrived wasn't too bad to my surprise and then the waitress disappeared so I waited for my “home-made” curry. Eventually it was brought over by someone I assume was a waiter although I subsequently had to rugby tackle a spoon from him as thus far I'd been given a knife and fork. The curry was topped with a very dry, very over cooked Naan bread of sorts and I think it had been put over the curry in the vain hope that the moisture from the sauce would coax it into some kind of edible form. The curry itself might have been home made, but I suggest it was home made with a packet mix or jar of sauce. The lamb I fear had never seen a fresh Indian Spice in life or death. The sauce was shiny – clearly suggesting an overdose of cornflour and the limited lamb – just a little on the fatty/gristly side. Still I could make up for my continuing hunger with dessert. No I couldn’t – the waiter disappeared and I found myself in an empty restaurant with no offer of dessert and just a heater for company. The room however although noisy, was comfortable with adequate tea/coffee supplies and unlike the rest of the hotel, it was warm. Breakfast was good! The female staff I encountered at this hotel were great; the male member of staff clearly missed the customer service training. Would I go back – unlikely unless I wanted to get woken up again at 05:30 by the 05:30 Ryan Air to Palma flight. Collapse
