We didn't have much planning for this Amsterdam and we need to find a hotel that fits our demand - clean, bang for the buck and with great review. We found this chain hotel and we gave it a try. It is really good, the room seems to be rehab not long ago, it is clean, water at the shower are strong and hot, the room is big with big windows, the bed is comfy. What's more is that with the no. 2 tram just right outside the hotel, you will have no problem going around the city. The only thing they could improve on is their service, it's not they are not friendly, but could be better. I asked for some ice by pressing "Housekeeping", the girl on the phone said you can come down to the reception. So I thought I pressed the wrong department, so I tried "Room Service", the same girl answered the phone and told me "Didn't I say to ask you to come down to the reception?" ... well hey isn't this a hotel, aren't there better wordings and attitude?. Anyways, apart from the incident, everything was good, also, there are three supermarkets within 5 mins walk away. Collapse
Good location, poor service

I stayed solo for a weekend. I arrived to be made to pay for my stay in advance. I asked why and was told the queue for check out was really long so it was hotel policy. I paid and went to the room. It was a good size and the room was well designed. There was no view, of just a highway and some flats. Upon further inspection the room hadn't been hoovered or cleaned thoroughly. I lifted a cup to find its saucer fill of coffee stains. I went for the other cup and removed a ring of dust from its edge. I then looked at the wine glasses and again they were full of dust. I went to go to bed and lifted the sheets and again dust enveloped me. The light above the bed showed it all circulating around me, making me feel uneasy that I would breathe this in all night. I slept well and the bed was comfortable. The Bathroom was not cleaned after me leaving my make up button on all day. The marks on the glass were still there, toilet not cleaned and surfaces not wiped. I went for breakfast and was chased around the restaurant by a waitress trying to get me to complete her bill. I told her my name and room number on arrival, enabling her to charge it to my room? no she came over 4 times to ask me to fill it spoiling my breakfast. I paid £15 for breakfast per day, £12 if you book on arrival. A sore penalty for wanting to have a flexible stay. There was no queue on check out a blank reception with no customers. I waited for a taxi and noticed others checking in without having to pay in advance and this made me feel unwelcome. Collapse

Stayed from 27/11 - 30/11/16 Myself and my boyfriend booked to stay here for his birthday in Amsterdam. We bought open return tickets from Schipol airport to Central station. Then bought the red I Amsterdam card ( for 96hrs as we stayed from sun- wed) which was €85 each. But worth it as it gives you unlimited travel on the bus, tram, train around Amsterdam. It also gives you free entry to many attractions and 25% discounts on dining, other tours, shopping and a free canal ride. I would highly recommend getting it as it saved us so much money on travel and sightseeing. From Amsterdam central we then got on the number 2 tram outside the station. It took us straight to the hotel. You need to get off at Deflandlan. But you see the hotel as it stops right outside. Once there we did a self check in on a touch screen which was quick and easy to follow. But staff are around however to welcome you also and to give you help. We stayed on the 6th floor. The room was lovely and clean. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. There was a mini bar (which we didn't use), and iron and ironing board which is always useful to have in the room instead of having to ring for one. My boyfriend liked the Nespresso machine also. The bathroom had a great shower and under floor heating. Also the TV has many English channels. We connected to the wifi instantly and you do not need a code for it. I brought my iPad with me to watch shows through VPN connection and it always worked fine. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The reception area was always clean and tidy. We didn't eat at the restaurant there so can't comment on that or the bar. Amsterdam itself is a great city and we both thoroughly enjoyed our short break there. Coming back to the hotel after long days of sight seeing and nights out was made even better by the lack of noise even though it is by a main road and tram line. We couldn't hear a thing. And there was black out curtains so that was great also. I would recommend eating out at Ranchos. The best steak I've ever had. We visited all the major attraction but the best was Anne Frank ( book in advance to avoid queues), we did the Rock the city deal at €25 each which included the Heineken tour, canal ride and A'dam tower tour. They have a swing at the top of the tower which swings over the edge. It was fantastic. You can book it online at either the Heineken or A'dam tower sight. Also the ice bar is a must too. Discounted entry with the I Amsterdam card. 3 free drinks. Drink out of ice glasses. Given coats and gloves too. It is freezing though. So dress wisely it was -10 the night we went!!! I would definitely stay here again if I came back as it wasn't too far from the centre and easy access to everywhere via the tram. An excellent hotel. Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable Collapse

Great hotel, very clean. There is a tram stop right outside which goes to the center which is great. The breakfast was nice but quite expensive at €12.50 so only had it once. I have a nut allergy which they were very helpful with and the chef offered to make me seperate food. They give you new tea and coffee in the room everyday but there wasnt any english tea, so we rang room service and they bought us english teabags for free. Good stay overall Collapse
