The Best Western Mornington Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of London, within walking distance of Lancaster Gate tube station and right opposite Hyde Park. Were also within easy reach of all of London’s best areas for shopping and entertainment, so you really can see London in style! This hotel really is about as regal as you can get, but unlike nearby Buck House, the BEST WESTERN Mornington Hotel is located in the heart of London’s bright lights (not that you'd know it, with the luxurious floor-length drapes that adorn every room).
As hotels go, it’s hard to find a more elegant place to stay. As well as the regal 19th Century pillars (a mark of decadence both then and now), you'll find a range of London’s highlights on your doorstep. The hotel is now even more appealing too, having just undergone a complete refurbishment! Architects have cleverly designed a new look for the hotel to enhance its traditional features while bringing its wonderful accommodation further into the 21st Century!
Large contemporary rooms make rooms at the Best Western Mornington Hotel a superb choice near Paddington Station, opposite Hyde Park in the heart of London. All of our double rooms are fully Air Conditioned and fitted with a Flat screen TV, Laptop Safe, Complimentary High Speed Wi-Fi and en suite bathrooms.
The West End is just around the corner, Paddington mainline station/Heathrow Express is a 5 minute walk away, and a number of tempting restaurants can be found in the time it takes to nibble on a Michelin-starred hors doeuvre. Wi-Fi access is provided free of charge too, which makes it even more satisfying to tell your friends back home all about the wonderful time you’re having!

Was pleasantly surprised as some of the Best Western Central London locations have been a disappointment, but although the outside looked in need of some restoration, internally everything was spotless. The staff were extremely helpful and the room was of a high standard with an en-suite shower room. Bookings include a full English breakfast served in a separate Breakfast room, which surpassed my expectations. The Hotel has a 24 hr Bar in its Library room and although if does not have a full Dining service, snacks are available and there are many good Eating Houses just a stones throwaway. Will certainly use it again. Collapse

I booked this hotel for a two day visit to London, as I'd never been before. Me and my partner looked around at a few hotels but decided to go with this one as we usually use Best Western hotels and of course due to all the good reviews - as I do use trip adviser before booking any hotel. The room was really lovely, great layout and had all the facilities we needed for our stay. When we arrived we were greeted by a very delightful lady on reception who helped us a lot and gave us directions to the nearest tube etc. When we first arrived to the room, we were very pleased but eager to rush out to see the sights. When we returned, a gentlemen in reception didn't acknowledge us upon entering even though my partner did greet him. Later that evening we had some issues with the bath plug, no matter what we did, it wouldn't seem to fit properly. We weren't particularly bothered, albeit not brilliant, however I did notify reception to which I was told, by the same gentlemen previous, there was nothing they could do and to shower instead. Although we weren't too fussed, I didn't expect that response. The room is small but very well presented as I mentioned, but as the night went on we were woken up a lot as the walls seem to be paper thin. On the way to London we thought we had bagged a good deal, however now I'm not too sure. We do plan to be returning to London but unfortunately it will be with a different hotel. Collapse

Booked two rooms to enable to stay in London after meeting my son from Heathrow. I contacted the hotel and asked for a cot to be provided as my son was travelling with his infant son and was assured this would not be a problem! The hotel was easy to find using my gps and due to restricted parking facilities I was directed to an off site parking facility approx 10 - 15 mins away after dropping our bags off. The room for my wife and I was small but adequate, clean and seemingly recently refurbished, my sons room was bigger with a good quality cot provided. The hotel is perfectly situated across the road from Hyde Park, which provides a lovely walk around the Serpentine. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the breakfast in the morning if purchased was of very good quality in a buffet style. The only issue I had was a slight smell in the toilet area which was probably due to an extractor fan not working. All in all, a very pleasant stay and if I am to visit London again I would have no hesitation in staying here. Collapse

To start with the good - lovely décor throughout, room was large for a single, and great location. And for the bad - upon arrival I was asked to provide an additional charge, and not given a proper explanation what this was for, only that failure to pay would mean I could not stay at the hotel. After refusing/a bit of a discussion involving the general manager, the charge was waived, but I only found out later through Googling that this was a generic hold on payment in case of any charges or damages. I understand that this is sometimes needed (though why they can't take credit cards details like other hotels is unknown), but I have since checked the hotel and Best Western websites thoroughly, and there is no mention of this at all. Along with that the reception staff did not explain it me, I felt kind of duped, and very glad that I made enough of a fuss for them to waive it. I was woken up at 8am (on Xmas eve) by the fire alarm. By the time I got dressed, got my things and went down to reception it had stopped, receptionist was casually checking another guest out, and no-one was available to say what was going on. Actually a bit spooky. Staff did not ask me how my stay was upon checking out, so I had to enquire about the alarm and was dismissively told it was due to burnt toast. Staff did not seem at all bothered by either of these issues, and gave the impression I was inconveniencing them. I sent an email of complaint, and the polite reply I received did not make any suggestion that they would change their practice on this charge to warn their customers in future. I mentioned that I am a student who doesn't have extra funds without notice, and that I had considered waiting until after my theatre show at 11pm to check in, but luckily decided not too - I asked if the manager had not been present at this time of night, would I, a young woman travelling alone in central London, have been turned away from the hotel, but they declined to answer. Not very impressed. Collapse

Single room was a a good size for this type of property. Desk area with tea/coffee making and TV. Small, compact bathroom with towels and toiletries supplied. Comfortable bed. Air conditioned, had to be set high for ambient temperature. Quiet at rear of hotel with just a little internal noise from an older hotel building. Good breakfast with extensive hot and cold choices. Location is good for Hyde Park and 10 mins walk from Paddington rail and underground. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Very good value in the Winter Sale, will bear this one in mind when in the area again. Collapse
