We will seriously have to consider travel by train especially by first class again will probably fly did not get first class service on especially on the 13th will be lodging complaint. Hotel was very good staff excellent. Would recommend hotel to friends but not train travel. Also feel if you sell a holiday train seats should be automatically allocated once the train travel time is confirmed by customer despite how busy a train may be Collapse

I chose this hotel for its location, access to public transport, local shops and what I presumed was a Queen-size Double Bed for my girlfriend and I. What we found was the location was fine least not plenty of places to either buy food to cook or eat out or even takeaways, there is also a wide range of banks nearby, the nearest mainline railway station (namely West Ealing) was about 5 minutes’ walk whereas the nearest Tube for the District and Central lines) was a short bus ride away or about fifteen minutes’ walk at a brisk pace (namely Ealing Broadway), there are also a number of supermarkets from well-known to lesser known shops including independent retailers and my girlfriend were happy with this. The apartment we had was room 304 and as soon as we went in the bedroom we realised how small if not pokey the bedroom was as there was little room on either side of the bed, the bed was two single beds joined together by a zip and the mattress/mattress cover but the mattress was not clean and there was no way my girlfriend and I could sleep in the same bed given it was too small even if we had separated the beds. If that wasn’t enough the walls were not in the best condition and behind the door was a large hole where the door handle had been slammed into at some point and as such my girlfriend and I had to sleep separately as I slept on the sofa bed in the lounge. My girlfriend got very little sleep as outside the window were the fans for the heating and they went on all night and even I could hear them from the lounge, the bedroom door was closed, the bedroom door was closed and the lounge door was also closed. My girlfriend also could not sleep given the gap between the two beds. Turning to the lounge this is spacious least not it combines with an eating area and kitchenette but there is no extractor fan above the cooker and if you use the hob or oven the smells will linger in the room as there is nowhere for the smells to go unless you open a window which I will come back to shortly. The sofa bed was terrible and yes it was easy to assemble and put back in the sofa but the mattress is very thin, the mattress was stained on both sides with something like brown liquid such as tea, coffee or hot chocolate and we had to ask for some bedding such as a sheet, duvet and pillows/pillow cases which were bought to our room. I am taller than the average and given my height some of my legs and feet were outside of the duvet and I had to sleep in a curled up ball like the foetal position which I did not like least not I have a back problem and this did not help my back and yet had I slept in the bed in the bedroom this would have not gone away as the bed in the main bedroom was tiny and over half of my legs would have hung out the of the bed and it would not have been possible to sleep in a curled up ball like the foetal position. The dining area was OK but outside the window was some sort of device which I presume was a chimney of sorts and I don’t know the correct name but once again this kept me awake even with the window closed least not because it was cold outside and the wind was blowing due to Storm Doris but I could also hear people outside as there is a car park and also early in the morning I could hear cars and vehicles coming and going, people on the street and I also heard a horn a few times given at the back of the hotel is the local court where prison vans were picking up or dropping off prisoners. The free and complimentary Wi-Fi only works near the window and did not work well if at all in other areas of the apartment and when my girlfriend was on her phone my tablet froze or did not connect well or stay connected and vice versa. The cupboards were fairly keen in the kitchenette as were some of the plates but the cups, cutlery and pans were not cleaned well at all and when my girlfriend and I arrived we cleaned them again and I have no idea when they were last used or cleaned by other guests or even hotel staff. Turning to the bathroom this was tiny, there is no window, the extractor fan did work but did not take or reduce any smells, the toilet did flush with a second attempt on each flush but did not clear the contents away well. The bath plug was not attached to the chain/cord and I had to winch it out with a knife as whilst I have no nails both my girlfriend and I could not get it out. The shower only produced lukewarm water and did not stay lukewarm for long, the sink plug also had to be winched out with a knife and whilst there was no cord at all it was not possible to get the plug out any other way and the mirror steamed up very quickly which meant I could not have a wet shave anywhere as there was no other place that had a mirror and a sink to do this basic task. Given I have learnt over the years when people have problems or issues it is always best to take them to the hotel or provider at the time as to waiting until after you have left and can’t or don’t give the hotel a chance to explain or put things right at the time. I went downstairs to speak to the person behind the desk who spoke fairly good English and I can only presume he was from Eastern Europe and he said he was “sorry “ but “there was nothing he could do” I asked him why and he just repeated “there is nothing I can do, I am the manager and nobody else has complained to me before” I did not answer back as I felt he was not able to understand or take on the issues/responsibility of the issues. Since being back at home I have contacted Best Western at their offices in York setting out the above including the Manager’s response and I hope they will reply to my letter in full and explain what their version of events is/was and what they are going to do about the issues specifically and generally. All in all I think it is fair to say my girlfriend and I will not be returning to the hotel, nor will we be recommending it either to friends, family or colleagues. By all means go and have a look for yourself but a word to the wise be careful and if it helps there are other hotels such as Premier Inn and Travelodge not too far away down the road heading towards Ealing Broadway station. First things first - Location: The hotel is right next to the subway (restaurant) on the high road, which makes it convenient if you need to be close to everything. The down side is that you can easily miss the hotel as it doesn't have any real distinguishing features like light up signs or anything, so be on the look out, especially if you are driving. The hotel offers no parking so if you are driving you will have to find unrestricted parking, but beware, there are very active and efficient parking wardens about. Within easy distance to an Iceland (supermarket) as well as Waitrose within walking distance, it's situated well. Busses and public transport are right outside and the station is a mere 10-15 minutes away (depending on how fat you walk) plenty of food shops and those who love shopping, there is something for everyone. Staff- staff are friendly and professional with a ready smile and genuine warmth. I was told at check in, about the £50 deposit you have to pay which is refunded immediately if paid by cash once you check out. They are very informative and will answer any questions quickly. The apartment - As I'm typing, I'm resting in the leather couch, my living room is clean and tidy. Very modern in design and I'm still shocked with how much space I'm in. Some of the lights don't work in the room, but it hardly matters as there are so many lights that it doesn't really effect anything. The sofa isn't the best quality as if you sit in a wrong place your body will hit wood or some type of frame work and it could be painful. The bedroom is one of the biggest I have seen, with plenty of wardrobe space and more than enough space to store belongings. Tastefully decorated and clean. The bed is super light and just brushing past it can move it, the mattress definitely needs changing as it's the old spring mattresses which let down the overall effect of modernity. If you are used to memory foam or firm mattresses like I am, you will notice the difference immediately. The bathroom is small and adequate for your needs has towels provided and a clean bath so no frills but very clean overall. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, fridge, washing machine etc everything you would really need. I was shocked at how spacious it is, if you have a party and need to store food, this is a great place to do it. Cupboards and space galore. The apartment is quiet for the most part, strangely it's more noisy from about 5:30pm onwards than the rest of the day. The sounds of the bus engines, beeping horns, motorbikes etc does filter through but it is very so often and not constant at all. There are a few pigeons that perch on the window sills but they are outside so you don't need to worry about them getting in. There is a breakfast menu but this is basic and not really worth the £8.95. Only the continental is accessed onsite, you have to go a few doors down to a nearby cafe to get a hot breakfast (full english) so it's not really worth the trouble in my estimation. I will order food and let it come to the room and that will be good enough for now. There is no onsite restaurant so you have to go to the local shops and restaurants for food in general. Not an issue as hey happen to be next door and a few minutes away. No room service either though, which is something I do like when in a hotel. For what I paid for this apartment (£50) a night, i am staying for 2 nights and I am getting more than my money's worth. I would definitely stay here again. If they change the mattresses to a better quality and put up some lighting on the outside of the hotel, then this hotel will be hard to beat, even with the lack of parking. As I am solo, safety is a major concern and I feel safe at this hotel and all my needs are taken care of. I like this hotel a lot. You can have guests in the apartments until 11:30pm then they have to leave, so this could be a great place to have little get together and pamper sessions on a budget. Collapse

The bed was so comfortable. The bathroom large and the shower great. The kitchen was well decked out and there's a Siansburys 50 yards down the road. You're right in the middle of the broadway so easy to get everywhere. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended. Collapse

Recently stayed at the apartments, location is spot on, very welcoming staff, apartment was clean and spacious with all the luxury of feeling homily, would of received 5 stars but I felt the kitchen was starting to look a bit tired with a door missing from the front of the washing machine and the noise from the bedroom was slightly annoying (think this was the air con units outside the apartment) wasn't a major issue. Would I stay here again....? 100% Yes. G Collapse

First of all...it's not convenient to anything.....run down...looks ok from perhaps a distance. The list of things that were less then adequate for a $370/night price tag! No typo there...we unfortunately got taken for a ride with this one! Would have walked right back out the door when we got to hotel but unfortunately paid in advance on Hotwire (which had a 4 star rating!) and had "no refunds" posted on our reservations! Made the best of it...but hate that we paid so much for so little!! Shower nozzle squirted everywhere because it was cheap plastic...that had split down the middle! Had a hole in kitchen where it looked like a dishwasher might have been...only to find it filled w a broken clothes washer the second day! I guess they figured something was better then nothing! I would assume having something that was working! Lots of broken things in room...lights held on with tape...broken drawers....just shoddy cheap hotel! "queen" bed is actually two singles pushed together with a seam down the middle! Not comfortable at all! Pullout couch...springy and sleeping on floor might be more comfortable! Heat...almost none existent...cold cold cold room! Wifi....absolute garbage! Asked front desk if they were having issues with it since we couldn't get adequate signal in room even to check email...girl suggested if we wanted to use wifi to sit in lobby! Paying the amount of money we paid I should be able to sit in my room! Ridiculous! Asked front desk how far airport was....so we could plan accordingly! Answer "I don't know...maybe 30 minutes but that's really a guess!" Seriously...I didn't ask him to solve some calculus problem...I asked a real simple question that any front desk worker at a hotel should be able to answer. Lastly...walls unbelievable yucky! Take a look at the hand prints and grime on the walls...things like this say a lot about a hotel...whether they are well maintained or just made to look it! This hotel has a long way to go to be a 2 star never mind a 4 star! Can't finish this review without talking about the smell.....constant smell of fried chicken and subway...fills your room. Not appealing at all. Please don't waste your money like we did....too much money that makes me sick. Awful hotel....bad staff and worse location! Collapse
